  1. http://www.lightscribe.com/index.aspx Pros: Can "burn" a label on special LightScribe media. Looks more professional than using a CD-Pen. Can add text, images, etc to an already burned label. Cons: Label takes from 17 min (draft quality) to 27 min (best quailty) to burn. Price of LightScribe media. Label is greyscale, no color. Compatability issues with older DVD players. Until they can improve the labeling time, compatability, price, and add color I'll stick with printable discs, Pioneer 1.08 DVD Burner, Epson R300 Printer, and clear acrylic sealer.
  2. You can also install the "virtual machine additions" and that will also you to drag and drop files between your pc and virtual pc. I don't know if it works through if you're running an os other than windows in the virtual pc.
  3. I checked some of my usual (newegg, google, etc) places and actually found it for sale, but there are some catches. Ebay http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...ssPageName=WDVW Doesn't look like they will ship to USA. Fill's Shop (non-english site) Fill's shop I'm not sure if they ship to USA or not since I can't read the site. Why not just go with a newer motherboard?
  4. It's hard to say which is better since everyone has different needs. That being said, I use Firefox Why? Easy tweaking, extensions and especially Ad-block. That one extension alone has made the internet more like the good old days when you could go to sites without being attacked by pop-ups or inline flashing ad banners.
  5. This is why I only build PC's using ASUS Motherboards Anyways, I did some searching to see if I could help and this is what I found. The sources were not in english so I had to translate the pages with what ever google uses, hopefully the info is correct. Motherboard: Gigabyte 8IGMIU Processor: Intel P4 478 Chipset: Intel 845G Sound: AD1981 Lan: Intel 82562EZ (10/100) - maybe Intel Pro 100VE? Intel 82562EZ Lan Driver Download: http://downloadfinder.intel.com/scripts-df...D=1702〈=eng Sources: http://216.239.37.104/translate_c?hl=en&u=...cial_s%26sa%3DG http://pcpro.mytech.it/pcpro/statici/prove...tteristiche.pdf If it's not 82562EZ or Intel Pro 100VE you can always try contacting gigabyte and asking them. I had to contact them once via email, it took 2-3 days for a reply Here's their contact page: http://www.giga-byte.com/Company/ContactUs/contact_us.htm And if all else fails, buy a cheap $10 network card, load it up, connect to the internet, grab the gigabyte download center app, then let it try to find the right drivers like it says it can (I've never used it but maybe it'll work and it's just one more option to try). In the event that it fails, at least now you have it working with a $10 networking card. Good luck.
  6. The max your motherboard should support is 3GB @ 333 MHz. MSI 645 Ultra-C product page
  7. You might want to stay away from the hp 30gb photo ipods. Tried two of them, both had major issues. One had the disk go bad and the other just kept freezing. Their tech support is also pretty bad. They weren't helpful and could barely speak english (I talked for 4 different techs).
  8. HDD's 040GB x 2 080GB x 3 120GB x 1 160GB x 3 200GB x 2 1120GB = HDD space Memory (flash) 256MB x 1 - cruizer mini 032MB x 1 - asus flash disk 256MB x 1 - sony memory stick 016MB x 2 - sony memory stick 064MB x 1 - compact flash 008MB x 1 - compact flash 648MB = flash memory I have so many HDD's because of sales. Just got the 200's from staples this week, $99 at the counter - 30 rebate = 200GB @ $69 (.35 per GB). I have zero drive slots left in my main case (thermaltake 1000a) and mini case (aria) now so no more hdd's unless I swap a small one for a big one. I mainly use the space for video editing. DV video takes lots of space and I have lots of stuff I want to convert from VHS to DVD.
  9. Is anyone else wondering why 7 controllers? I can see 2, 4, 6, and 8, but 7? Ok, I've hardly ever needed more than 4 at once (could have used 8 in college), but still, why an odd number? Why not something even so that you can have equal teams, like: 2 teams / 4 players 4 teams / 2 players Other than the new funny looking controllers (yes I think the PS2 ones are perfect) and space the PS3 will take up compared to a PSTwo I can't wait
  10. That still doesn't answer the question for those out there that format their main 32bit, install 64bit, then realize that they were better off with 32bit and have to clean install again only to find that their 32bit license won't activate anymore. My thinking is still once you trade up to 64bit, you lose 32bit forever and have to buy it again to have it back. I'm not willing to try myself since I like knowing that both my P4 2.8 and AMD 64 3400+ pcs will work with everything on WinXP Pro 32bit. I'll update the AMD when there is more hardware and software support for WinXP Pro 64bit.
  11. Are you sure about that? I thought once your trade your 32bit for 64bit license that microsoft will give you a 64bit license and invalidate the 32bit license. So, you probably could install 32bit but you wouldn't be able to activate it and after 30 days (i think) you would no longer be able to use it due to the activation grace period. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
  12. Go here to download the full WinXP SP2 file: WinXP SP2 Download Page Patches after SP2. These are not in SP2 because they are Pre-SP3 patches. The patches after SP2 will not be in a service pack until WinXP SP3 is released. So to answer your question, you will have to slipstream new patches along with SP2 to have all current patches on one disc.
  13. By convert I'm going to guess that you just want to buy an adapter to use a PS2 controller on your PC right? If so, I usually get my converters from www.lik-sang.com Look under computer --> SmartJoy Plus I use ps2 controllers for just about any PC game I play (which isn't many nowadays, mostly play on ps2) except 1st person shooters. I find that keyboard and mouse usually work better for those.
  14. Did you use nlite to create the ISO? If not, how did you create the ISO? Have you tried booting the CD on your physical pc? You don't have to let it go through the whole install process, just see if it allows you to enter setup by pressing any key. If it doesn't prompt you to press any key while booting, then your CD isn't bootable which is why Virtual PC 2004 and your physcial pc won't detect it. If this is the case, you have to re-create (or edit) your ISO and include the winxp boot sector. I use Virtual PC 2004 SP1 with slipstreamed versions of Win2k Post SP4 and WinXP SP2 with no problems at all. Hope this helps.
