I hope johnhc won't mind if I answer. tchjgangel: yes, if you select a component in photo1, it will hide several sub-components in photo2. They won't be shown at all, so you won't be able to remove them. It's not 1:1 relationship, it might hide several components in several places. This is internal to NLite. About photo3, if you select several items in the language group, they will all be kind of 'preinstalled' in Windows. Later, if you change from one to another of them, Windows will not ask for installation CD. I don't know if there are any other consequences. GL

And of course, after you're finished... GL

Sounds pretty similar to this. But then this could be construed as this? GL

Because it would magnetize the screen? (No matter how much you warn them, people will put antennas on top of the TV set). GL

What makes Office 2003 better than 97?
GrofLuigi replied to pointertovoid's topic in Microsoft Office
From what I remember from working with different Office versions, each "generation" brought one-two distinct features I remembered them by (and not a slight bit useful for me, and I suspect for 99% of office users). Note: this is very subjective and inaccurate, but it's coming from a user that used them in many different situations, environments and tasks (and often repaired them). If we say 97 is 'the base' which already covers most of the capabilities needed, then subsequent versions brought: 2000 - it was a long time ago and I used it for very short time, so I forgot what was its main feature - windows installer? programmed installation? 2002 - in this they somehow broke unicode support. For one specific job I'm using it, this version is highly dis-recommended. 2003 - Smart tags? Beginning of sharepoint, DRM, online activation. 2007 - the button, contextual spell check, unslipstreamability Of course, there is a non-stop stream of small fixes and updates, but I see a problem with that: 1. Why didn't they get it right in the first place? The money they took were not buggy. 2. Together with the fixes, enormous bloat is pushed. Including complete unnecessary apps. I'd say they closely match the Windows version from the year they are published. That can't be coincidence. GL -

Usually comes after installation of .Net Framework 1.1. http://www.mvps.org/marksxp/WindowsXP/aspdot.php http://support.microsoft.com/kb/555299 GL

I don't have such laptop(s) at hand. It was an option in the places mentioned, worded something like: use bluetooth together with wireless; OR: turn off one while the other is active... Will try to find out more and get back here... GL
-
I've seen some option about combining wireless and BT (don't know the exact name, never used it) in several places: - in laptop's bios (Dell) - in wireless card's properties - in bluetooth drivers (broadcom) Maybe that should be turned on or off? GL

Thanks for the link, it's hilarious. GL

For fresh builds of MPC-HC, one would want to go to XvidVideo.RU. GL *Edit: better link

It's fixed now (I didn't want to bother ppl with "it's not working for me" over and over again). As always, nothing has changed in my opera configuration (I synchronize its ini file between several computers and would notice if even a comma had changed). It hasn't changed for months. Just for the record, the time of the fix was (as I see it on the front page): Your current time: Sep 10 2009, 06:52 PM Your last visit was on: Sep 10 2009, 05:24 AM so if Xper or someone else changed something during this period, that was it. I think 952069-v2 shouldn't be removed, it also contains updated Logagent.EXE and Wmnetmgr.DLL. Yes, KB968816 contains (only the) newer Wmvcore.DLL. GL

Wayback Machine has at least some of it. Although it's not the latest, it's better than nothing... I think. GL

DNS: Valid network interfaces should precede invalid interfaces in the
GrofLuigi replied to jcarle's topic in Windows Server
I don't have much experience with AD, but if this falls into the category of general networking, another way to "rebuild" the binding order is to uninstall (completely!) the drivers for network adapters, then reinstall. That would be overkill, I think. For starters, I would try reshuffling bottom ones (i think any reshuffling rebuilds). And using ProcMon to see the adapter guids, then check them for anything suspicious. GL -

Doesn't the Resolution section in that article work? GL -
Have you tried this? Warning: I have not tested it myself. Maybe you should do some tests first to see the behavior. GL
-
Have you run "Set programs access and defaults"? <- not the exact wording, I forgot it. Even if its shortcut in start menu was removed (could have been tweaked/removed by nLite), it can be still accessed in control panel - add/remove programs... I think. GL

They got into this mess themselves, when they started forcing adaptive menus. Users couldn't find many things, so now they're retraining the users... And 7 is being touted for tablet pcs... GL

You can try looking in : HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\AppKey Might not apply if the mapping was done through some other app. GL

It doesn't work for me too. The "Go to First Unread" button. I reported it, and then as fixed in a couple of threads in this forum, but as soon as I did that, it broke again. GL *Edit: and this post too - after I posted it, it didn't take me to it, just to the top of the page. I don't remember it did this before. My wild guess is that it's the SEO again - it breaks either old or new links? (created at different times -when it was on or off).

I experienced it too, for several days. It is fixed now. GL
