I don't remember the exact names right now. Something like video capture devices something with camcorders If you want, post your last session.ini and I'll compare with mine. GL

On the computer I'm on right now it's a shortcut to C:\WINDOWS\system32\wiaacmgr.exe -SelectDevice Try running that command line and if successful, create the shortcut. GL

No, he's just an excellent statistician. GL

Welcome to the forum. Your laptop seems to have Intel 915PM+ICH6M chipset. Follow this guide by Fernando 1. Pay attention to item 1. 2. c. GL *Edit* I double checked at Fujitsu site - amilo m1437g is Intel, NOT VIA!
-
It works fine on ICH9M (manually update driver from devmgr). It appears as 'not digitally signed' (but I guess you already know that ). If you unpack the package manually, there's release notes inside . It says that "This release enables support for Windows 7" (might be important for someone?) Fernando1 is the coolest. GL

Did you try our suggestions? (Im thinking mostly of start WIA manually) How does the camera appear in device manager? As unknown, with question mark, or fully recognized? What kind of camera is it anyway (not necessarily the model, just type)? GL

Word 2003 / windows springing up from taskbar
GrofLuigi replied to skylark53's topic in Microsoft Office
I'm not offended. I guess it's rare thing to do > most ppl didn't need it. I have not heard of a system option to do this. I guess what you need is an alternative like this or even something like this. GL -
Word 2003 / windows springing up from taskbar
GrofLuigi replied to skylark53's topic in Microsoft Office
In addition, many programs have configuration options to open new documents in new windows or tabs with several choices (I know firefox has, and Word has some). But whether they raise the existing windows/tabs is another matter... Only testing can show. GL -
Word 2003 / windows springing up from taskbar
GrofLuigi replied to skylark53's topic in Microsoft Office
For example, for Word: create a shortcut to Winword.exe with parameter /n it will open a new blank instance of Word from inside of it, do File > Open (i don't say menu because you may be using 2007 ) The existing document is never raised, I checked. For firefox: Start firefox with parameter: firefox.exe -new-window everything else is the same. Each program is different! GL -
Word 2003 / windows springing up from taskbar
GrofLuigi replied to skylark53's topic in Microsoft Office
Common sense comes to the rescue: Open a new blank instance of the program. (If needed/available, create special shortcut with app speciffic command line parameters.) Use File-Open. Other solutions are possible, but they vary depending on the program. (editing the file association). I don't have experience with those. GL -
Just for your information. Comments? GL

Wow. Just wow. GL

I had a similar problem with Realtek drivers in Vista. The only difference is reboot vs sleep. GL

Hi bmoses, I'm not familiar with VIA chipset, but from the Biostar description of P4VMA-M (is that your board? there is no board without M!) I see it has both IDE and SATA connectors. Depending on where your BOOT partition is located, you may need to integrate the SATA driver (found on their drivers page). And what johnhc said. GL

That can be often done running Universal Extractor twice (once over the .exe and second time over the data.cab). But I've also seen data.cab's that don't extract... GL

Error 1130: Not enough server storage available to process this comman
GrofLuigi replied to iTwins's topic in Windows XP
I guess you have already seen this. Also, I've seen IRPStackSize in: AFD\Parameters lanmanserver\parameters mrxsmb\parameters netbios\parameters Everywhere is set to dword:32 (50 decimal, which is the max value for post-win2k) and there are no problers. GL -
Take drivers from XP and transplant them into 2000 installer
GrofLuigi replied to xeons's topic in Windows 2000/2003/NT4
Wow, that's pretty lame of them. Maybe you can try with USB keyboard? GL -
Hi TX100, and welcome to the forum. You need to find out which controller your laptop has. The most common are Intel and Nvidia. And there is a whole forum section dedicated to drivers, with many methods. Enjoy, GL

I see: USB Video Capture devices (are removed) StiSvc,3 (that's WIA; it should be started - either start it manually or set it to 2) GL

Take drivers from XP and transplant them into 2000 installer
GrofLuigi replied to xeons's topic in Windows 2000/2003/NT4
Hmmmm... and are unfamiliar to me. I guess it's the same type of screen where you choose partitions, HAL... I have never encountered such an error. What can I say... double and triple check your source CD isn't modified or corrupted or SP4 inproperly slipstreamed. Again I'll say it looks like there are some mismatched unattended settings, but I'm far from expert on that and I'll leave for others to comment. Please provide more info for us: post the exact error message, screenshots if you can, inform us whether it's a modified source in any way, hardware info and everything else that can be useful. GL -
Take drivers from XP and transplant them into 2000 installer
GrofLuigi replied to xeons's topic in Windows 2000/2003/NT4
I'm sorry, I still can't visualise it. Is it the wizard later know as OOBE? I have never seen anything similar, but it still seems to me it's a language (and keyboard type) problem. Did you integrate SP4 into the original disk? Maybe you used unattended and/or nLite? GL -
Take drivers from XP and transplant them into 2000 installer
GrofLuigi replied to xeons's topic in Windows 2000/2003/NT4
What is the exact message? I ask this because I suspect it's not related to hardware at all, but to languages (something wrong with the Windows installation). Does it happen on clean Win2000 install? And welcome to the forum. GL -
Hi Sotcr, I personally don't integrate IE or WMP, so I can't help you much about that. I hope others will chime in. What I can is offer you some comments on what I noticed: You'd better merge the two passes you're doing (SP3 + hotfixes/addons) - it's not necessarily an error, but strange things have happened in the past with multiple passes (I witnessed them too myself). Your operations are not too complicated, so I think there's no reason to separate them. About the "My Network Places" Does'nt show up - you need to enable the "tweaks page" in nLite and use it. Then you'll have, for example, in your Last Session.ini: [Tweaks] Desktop-My Network Places icon-Show I can only speculate, but I think it's two different things going on (two addons; or normal windows operation + addon). If you can, give it time to finish (don't click on it immediately). And the shortcut is from the WMP installation. And I think it was mentioned that IE8 can't be slipstreamed with nLite yet. But I see you have an addon, so probably you know more about the situation than me. GL

Systems Slows Down as I work (Is it Due to Streaming Audio)
GrofLuigi replied to DreamSkape's topic in Software Hangout
It should be safe, as long as it's free of: 1. Overheating 2. Dust Every device's life is decreased with usage, but the question is at what rate. GL -

I just checked, ip.com has a flash-based player. So maybe the problems can be attributed to Adobe Flash. Check if you have the latest version. GL
