i have some guys that offered to tranlate it to other languages already. but i want to get it more completely done before translating. i will post when i when begin translating it. i appreciate your offer. it doesn't have any connect feature. are you sure is my program? have you checked where is trying to connect to? please pm or send me an email so i can check it. maybe you have some registry guard or something and you got a warning when it tried to write/read the registry.

i just forgot to ask when closing via X button do you mean to display tooltips AND also put it on the description?. i wasn't sure if the tooltips for the textboxes were right. maybe i wash them away and only use the description box just like all the other control. perhaps i can show tooltips only in the top menu and the buttons in the bottom on the window. about the resize gripe, was another detail i didn't take into account. if i disable the buttons and the menus i have to write more code, thus having some duplicate code here and there to do that. and as im using the check/uncheck tab buttons apart from the tab you're in (they are not inside the tab controls) i have to rewrite some things. im leaving them the way they are, but i appreciate your concern and your comments. the window wim is part of about msgbox behavior but im working to implement that on the other prompts i ask with msgboxes... thanks again. ps: already working on next release

hi, my monthly transfer went to the roof because many sites (i don't know how) got my program hotlinked in their pages. luckily enough today receive my new hosting registration with more bandwidth. im in the process of moving everything to it. meanwhile, the site is up here elajua.50webs.com About readings, today i will build another release with many changes, but the readings of everytweak will have to wait a few days. maybe on monday or tuesday another build with that feature will be out. will post list of changes today though. i already got that collection, but it will take a while to test all tweaks and to see if they work on vista.

take into account that vista will apply the view settings to "all" folders, but it really does only with those that are the same typ. exmaple, music, images, movies, archies, docs, etc. is best to open folders like these and apply to "all" folders. but there is the issue like in xp that for some reason in open/save dialogs, it always shows detailed view.

nice effort. the program is good, the only downside is that it contains only a few tweaks, but useful ones. some network settings changed in vista. have you looked through ms docs? many of the old tweaks for xp dont work or are useless now. im investigain some configs for the network settings that can actually improve something (if there are any).

it's a small world indeed i already code the exit validation into the program. nice suggestion. i'm working already in the per tab select/unselect feature. thanks for the feedback.

one of the things in the to-do list is to incorporate the ability to export the selected tweaks into a .reg file. i think this is more useful than to provide command line support. also i think that a command line swith for every tweak will get you a very very long line and many people won't use it just because they have to look for switches and their meaning. maybe i can incorporate some command line support in future, but not for now. thanks for the suggestion.

im working on that already because i want those two buttons select/unselect all but only for the current tab, not the whole program. i also corrected some validations and im working on more tweaks. if anyone has a detailed listing of registry tweaks for vista and want to see them in vistatweaker, please pm or give me a link. im working with my own tweaks but i want to code as many as possible. the ones im looking for right now are performance enhancing tweaks like the ones we had with xp. thanks for your reply.

if you are logged in as an admin you can turn off the uac prompts for admins with out disabling uac at all. look here HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System and change this key ConsentPromptBehaviorAdmin to 0

i always had problems with live messenger about sending files speed. i have tried with many friends and vista, xp is the same. it doesn't matter. however, in the last few weeks my transfers with some friends are going well, i don't know why. bot of us have vista. maybe it has something to do with messenger itself.

i already corrected the bugs and upload a new build to my website. in a couple of days i will make another build with more tweaks and other features. thanks for the feedback.

thanks for the reminder. check my site on the main post to get the first version and try it. there are many things to get done yet but at least can help you tweak some stuff really quick. i think that there are pros/cons on messing with services but many users, me involded, want to enalbe/disable everything that suits our likings. i will make a statement for people not to held me responsible for problems on their computers. thanks for the feedback.

i will try to release a beta tomorrow so people an actually try it. iim currently investigating about services and entries that are in vista to figure what they do. will update my website and this thread as soon as i upload it.

for services, im currently thinking on how to implement that because the use of profiles, the checking for each version and other things will take some time. my current goal is to implement at first stage a reading of current installed services and three buttons to allow manual, aumatic, disabled. the use of profiles is something i will make but for now i want to finish all possible tweaks and then code the services settings.

im using visual basic 2005. the program itself now weights about 60kb only... if someone has any ideas, please share them so i can improve it. i guess in bout two or three days i can post a beta version of it so anyone willing to prove it can test it. also im working on my website but i will take some more time to get it running. thanks for the reply. i haven't tried that with nero, but may be a validation error with nero. this is the first time i know about that. have you try searching in ahead's site?

^^ that is likely to happen because f serial validation i think. try erasing the registry entries when uninstalling it, then try again.

I included system, desktop, start menu, file extensions, services and miscellaneous tweaks ordered in tabs and group boxes. every tweak has its checkbox and shows its description as text in the bottom of the program. Feel free to download it and test it. Last updated: 2007-10-25 VistaTweaker 0.5 Beta Website there is a setup for U3 devices that comes with the program. spanish version on its way. So, what do you think? any suggestions and comments are welcome...

at the end of the process of conversions made with recode, not the install script. i never thought of looking the msi tables with orca, thanks for the heads-up. will do it sometime this week. if anyone has some insights on it, please post, i dont have much time now for trying again the recode component of my installer.

for kaspersky anti-virus and internet security there already a thread on that subject. use the search function. for the others search the forums, maybe someone has posted instructions already.

i havent tried 7.0.0.x versions in unattended installs but i believe they support it by using window installer standard switches such as /qb /norestart. have you tried them?
