Hi sp00f. Have you tried a game with Nvidia PhysiX support? I ask because i don't want to deploy this driver on some gaming machines without trying. I have one 8800GTS but currently there is no support for PhysiX in G80 GPU's.

I'm trying the latest WHQL drivers for GTX280 and modded them to fit my 8800GTS. The latest version of PhysicX extracts an MSI file to your AppData\Local\Temp folder. Copy it and run it with /qb /norestart to install silently and avoiding a reboot.

FYI, there are several new versions available. 8.06.12 being the latest.

If i understood correctly, you are talking about SFX archives. This way, you can compress your setup (or program) and the reg file. When executed, this SFX archive will import the reg file to registry and copy your setup (or program) to a desired location. If this is what you want, make a search for SFX archives, there are guides on how to that with WinRAR and 7-Zip.

Fisrt, i think you should be more clear about what are you trying to accomplish. 1.- I understand that you need windows to launch a program at startup right? If so, you need to make an entry in the registry run sections (google for more info on this) and the location needs to be known, otherwise you will get an error if the file is not found. 2.- You can use Windows own registry editor (type regedit in the run box). 3.- It depends on the security software you are using, not Windows itself when you get those prompts. I hope i answered your questions.

you can export a reg file after making WMP the default player. Just look for each file type you want and export the registry information. I think that registering a specific dll makes WMP set file types but i don't know which file is it.

You can try installing RealPlayer first. When you first launch WMP you can choose to make it the default player.

You are using a very old version of WAIK. The latest version is here and was released in february this year. If you are making Vista SP1 install this version is a must. Try it and see if that solves your problem. Saludos!

are you using the latest vLite? i remember an earlier caused problems when you opened the image in WSIM. Try using the latest version of vLite. Also, make sure to use the latest WAIK too.

i have always used driverspath because of the integration of some drivers not always work as expected. this way i never experienced any issue. oh, and BTW, i want a hack for unsigned drivers too!

ImgBurn is the best free application for image burning. If you need other features try BurnAware Free Edition, it has many features.

If you don't mind .NET (i don't) Paint.NET is an awesome program.

I asume you are using a program called sleep.exe, which normally should be called with the time in seconds it will wait: sleep.exe XX If you are not using that, try using start /wait instead. This will wait until every file is finished and is provided by windows itself. About WinRAR: You can make you own SFX archive out of it. Just copy WinRAR folder from Program Files, and WinRAR folder in application data. Add them to a SFX file and that's it. You can add a start menu shortcut. At first start, WinRAR will auto import its settings into the registry.

Well, as it was my laptop, there were lots of applications. It would be impossible to determine which installed (maybe) some runtime libraries but i was thinking about moving it to the top of the list, right after cummulative updates. Will move it now and when i use my personal vistaUA DVD again, i will let you know. Thanks and keep up the good work.

But i just reformatted my laptop and when making some changes to my vistaUA DVD, i used the silent exe you are distributing. At the end of the installation i got a message that prompt me about rebooting. Is this normal? With the uncompressed files i didn't got it. thanks, ajua.

Download and install Scite. Use %programfiles%\AutoIt3\SciTE\ScriptWriter\AU3Record.exe for recording. I don't use recording. That is the only feature of AutoIt that i use for two or three programs. The recorder function is great and easy to use.

I'm using setupcomplete folder. Search for it in the WAIK docs. I apply some tweaks inside a .reg file using a cmd file in this folder. When FirsLogonCommands is run the tweaks are already applied.

Inno is a script to author setup or installers. You can use this or other authoring system to make what you want. But i think that you are interested in things like WPI, Mars Installer or other user-created applications. Search MSFN for this applications to see if they are what you are looking for.
