For those who haven't seen it yet office 2007 beta 2 can be downloaded from MS. Office 2007 Beta 2 be ready for long download lines and lots of errors though

like in your other post, just use ISA server 2004, it has proxy built in, it will server your needs well

i would suggest against that, it will be extremely slow and i think that violates the licensing agreements for both the products wait for office 2007 and office 2007 server

D-tools 4.0 has worked fine for me on all builds since 5308, no issues at all

as of right now the only way to do an unattended install is through the WSIM that comes with the WAIK, unfortunately it doesn't work very well for most people so very few have gotten it to work correctly

NOpe hasn't been fixed yet, an new WAIK should come out with beta 2that address the issue

WDS is very very nice, much easier to setup and deploy machines through it vs RIS, a questions to those useing WDS, has anyone figured out how to automactically add computers to the domain without prestaging the computer? that was the only way i could get computers added to the domain was to prestage them with the UUID

jakob, you may have to run some tests with the computer to check the performance level on the computer, from the computer properties page you can check the perfomance level and rerun the tests to see if you get a higher number, this will also kick on the Aero effects if you have change the video drivers since the last time this test was run (done at isntallation) see if that helps

mirroring will be available if you have a mother board that has a built in RAID controller, most m/b come with this now a days anyway,

you should add your Drivers to the WIM image after it has been created, you can use the peimg or drvload to accompish this, both tools are in the Feb WAIK,

there is striped and spanned drives available, but no Mirroring (raid 1) or raid 5 in 5381.1. sorry just checked again

just like with XP and 2003 software RAID will be avialable.

make sure the IP on the client machine is one that is being provided by the DHCP on the DC, if not then there is connectivity issues, either the cables being used or the Router itself. do you just a plain old hub or swtich you could swap in to place for that router, i bet the problem lies there.

you could replicate the User accounts into the SQL DB, but you wouldn't be able to manage them from AD, 2 seperate DBs...

from the machine you are trying to add to this domain can you ping this server? is the computer you are trying to add in a domain already ? or part of a workgroup?

no problem there are 3 modes to WDS: RIS, RIS + WDS and pure WDS, if you are already using RIS for your images, you can move to the second level and life cycle out your older images for Pe 2.0 ones as it becomes feasible

Chuckn, PE 2.0 is the only version of PE that will work with WDS, older versions won't work

just checked longhorn server, not there either.... though that will be good feedback for it, users accounts can be disabled after a certain length of time, that would be a better option anway the users account is more dangerous then the computer account.

computer accounts will stay there for ever, just like and AD object until you purposelly delete it

lol technically it is the Febuary CTP of the WAIK but who really cares...
