  1. My boss was wondering..... Are the Post SP3 hotfixes, when added, slipstreamed into the installation? In other words, the hotfixes aren't run as separate installs after the intitial OS installtion process...... It appears they are, but am just asking for some kind of confirmation.. thenks
  2. Yes I am.... I figured the error from Imgex was because of that..... My other questions was whether or not I should be able to mount a Windows XP .wim file for editing...... See the other error in Previous message....
  3. I created a .wim file using Ximage that contains several images. I would like to know if it is possible to mount one of those images.... I have tried both Ximage and Imagex... in both cases the image failes to load... Here are the errors I get: Ximage: The volume for a file has been externally altered so that the opened file is no longer valid. Imagex: [Warning] (null). [Read_WIM_header: (seq 20) ->version/header mismatch] [Error: 11] x:\coe_images\test\passport.wim [wim_create_file: (seq. 10) -> Fail to read WIM header] An attempt was made to load a program with an incorrect format. I created the .wim image file with Ximage so i suspect the Imagex error is because of this.... Any insight or input would be greatly appreciated.
  4. Here is the problem... On a machine that was upgraded to XP Sp2 I attempt to open a Word document directly by double-clicking on it.... It takes more than a minute for the document to finally open up..... If Word is already open and I go to the document and open it, it comes up within seconds.... On a similar machine that has XP SP2 installed directly (no upgrade).. the document opens up within seconds in both cases.... Has anyone experienced this before? Thanks,,,,
  5. I have been testing the sysprep process vor Vista 5308 and discovered the DevicePath registry key in WXP is not present in the Vista registry. Is there a new location to identify the location of device drivers? Thanks
