you will be able to boot both os's, but on your boot partition (the WMCE one) the bootloader will change to the vista one, at that point you will have to erase the partition and switch the bootloader off to use the boot.ini files instead so that you won't get prompted everytime to choose what OS you want (after unistall vista)

check your NIC drivers and try installing a newer version or reinstalling the verion that you are on now.
-
because you just upgraded over the old install it left that information there, to get rid of it you will either have to go in through PE and delete the accounts or reformat and install fresh.
-
unfortuantly you will have to remove the computer and readd it to the domain, no way around that, does the client have the ability to VPN in then you can unjoin the computer from the domain and rejoin it. 1. logon as an admin remove from the domain 2 logon as an admin after reboot and VPN to domain, rejoin the domain. 3. hopefully the users account is cached on the computer and you can have the users logon with there account on the computer now and vpn in, shoudl work fine now.

what build are you on 5308?

deamon, WinPE and an unattended XP wim would be my choice too but it sounds like ttophone doesn't have those things. since he doesn't care about the info on the machine, booting from the CD and just deleting the format within the XP installer and reformating there will be his quickest path

You are going to need a XP cd (not the restore disk but an actual install CD) you original CD-key, you will either set BIOS to boot off the CD ROM first or you will need to hit F12 to choose a boot option menu, boot form the CD first and follow the prompts...

net use /user:domain\username password?
fizban2 replied to realized's topic in Windows 2000/2003/NT4
what is the error it gives you? "bad username or password?" net use Z: \\ip\share /user:domain\username password that will work fine, just tested it in a batch with 3 shares, how about using the UNC equivelent of the IP? -
this is true but until MS releases the public beta even if you do download this version off their site you won't have a CD-key to install with, hence it would still be warez.

are both NICs enabled? this can happen when one is not installed correctly, check the drivers on both and see if you can find a different version is possible to install with, also are both NICs plugged in with a network cable?
-
what is the error that you are getting when you try and connect the 2 NICs? does it actually create the bridge or does it not even get that far? need more detail i created a bridge with my NIC and Wlan card and it went through fine

Every user have a profile on a PC, it is created the first time they logon, mike memnoch said, c:\documents and settings\<user profile> that profile is created and stored on the local machine unless roaming profiles are setup, which from the sounds of it you shouldn't worry about atm

Ris Load Balancing, Is it possible?
fizban2 replied to Arrow_Runner's topic in Windows 2000/2003/NT4
What you need is a good SCSI card, PATA is gonna kill you no matter what card you get... Find a good SCSI card and drive, it would be worth the money, or if money is an issue, SATA II card with a WD raptor... but SCSI would be best -
you could change it but the next time that you logon GPO would change it back to so it would be futile

suryad do you have a link to that video??

Windows 2003 Server Enterprise - RIS problems
fizban2 replied to .raven's topic in Windows 2000/2003/NT4
this is very true, but WDS will also Run on Window 2003 Server, it is true that WDS is beta but also you can run it is 3 modes RIS, RIS + WIM and WIM only, this will allow those still using RIS to upgrade with ease, i agree it is something that if you are in a production environment you may not want to deal with it, but at least setup a sandbox with it there or at least know it is an option and will replace the RIS that you are currently using. -
there is no F6 prompt for drivers anymore when you load up the PE, it should find the SATA driver weither it be in IDE mode or SATA mode, during the installaion, i know this is an older pic from an older build but same idea, there is a driver button here where you can load the required drivers if you Sata card hasn't been picked up yet, also have there been any Bios releases for this MB? Intel MB BIOS updates try those also see if they help at all you have to do the first one then the second one

Visual Studio 2005 Pro
fizban2 replied to tiku009900's topic in Programming (C++, Delphi, VB/VBS, CMD/batch, etc.)
have you tried the installation on another computer? try this to verify there isn't anything wrong with the one that you are working on that could be corrupting the package when it is being installed, can the company you downloaded this from give you a CRC value for the file (i will assume an ISO) you could verify then that the package was not corrupted or not. -
when you load vista during the HD drive configuration of the wizard you can load the drivers for your SATA HD controller i guess i should ask how far through the installation you get, if you can get your CD key entered and then get to the HD selection part, you can load your SATA drivers there. if it doesn't recogonize it then, you will have to wait for the company that makes the SATA controller or intel to make dirvers that will work with vista
