fizban2 replied to Br4tt3's topic in Unattended Windows Vista/Server 2008
if you right click on any item, and choose help you will get a very detailed description about what each piece does, if there are dependencies or the like it will tell you there -
so going through Tsweb will work fine but vista will not let you in, you are using a password for your account correct? and like cluberti asked, can you telnet on 3389 to those machines? i know i have little issue with RDP to any Xp or 2003 machine, either in house or across the Internet

Try using ImageX to backup the Vista installation, I am not sure if Arconis can Backup a Vista image properly or not (since it is a sector based Imaging tool) which Version are you using (10.0 is the only one that supports Vista)

madhouse, check to see if your BIOS has an option for the boot order of your HDs, i know after installing vista on my machine, if the HD without vista installed on it is set to boot first, Vista will not load and i will get the error your stating

Thank you for point out cluberti topic is closed

do a full back of your Vista install (through windows install) then you can restore everything to the way it was in vista on your new HD, or use imageX and make a WIM of your HD and then just apply that image to the new HD

WSIM / Windows System Image Manager - working?
fizban2 replied to Thona's topic in Unattended Windows Vista/Server 2008
have you installed the RTM WIAK? also you need to uninstall the previous BDD 2007 install, once you install the WAIK navigate out to the C:\Program Files\Windows AIK\Tools\ choose your OS format (x86, 64bit IA64) then reinstall the wimfltr.inf, this should take care of any read issues you hit when trying to load the WIM files in WAIK -
512 would be the minimum that is need to start the winPE and install vista
-
it is added into the unpartitioned space on the drive.

purchasing a router would work, then the connection stays on all the time, you could add your internet connection you made to your startup option and let it run from there also It does not work ! Too many options before the final click! any dilaer like WinPoET for Xp??? if it is an ADSL connection then you could setup a router to connect automatically the PPOE and keep it constantly alive, on the same hand the network connection wizard will allow you to create a connection and set it to automatically connect, you would just have to add it to your startup folder
-
umm with RTM there is no watermark, hence RTM

Xp home can be a client, but since you cannot join a home machine to a domain there will be many things you can't do.
-
when you browse the ISO what files do you see? or there several folders or just a setup.exe? it maybe that you have to extract the folders from the setup.exe first.
-
ok i think the question has been thuroughly shot to death, vendors and companies have been provided plenty of options to create drivers that will work with vista fine (not saying the hardward is capable but that is another issues) gonna close this before it gets out of hand
