  1. i had the same issue, once you had loaded vista, go ahead and reconnect all your HDs and make sure they are seen in Vista disk mangement. next boot up with your vista DVD, choose the repair option and have it repair the BCD, this will add an entry to the boot manager for XP also!
  2. this is expected behavior for all your apps, since all these applications were installed under XP, why would you expect them to work in Vista? there is no registry information telling vista how to load the programs let alone where the applications reside. if you were to boot back in to XP, your XP drive will be C: again. Then all your apps will work in XP. if you want your apps to work in vista you have 2 options 1. reinstall them on your vista Partition 2. Upgrade your XP partiton to Vista, i did this with my XP install and 98% of my apps came back working the upgrade proccess has radically been changed, if you still don't trust it though, reinstall all your apps in you Vista partition.
  3. WAIK is your only option, you can try and do it by hand but good luck, download the newest WAIK, it works perfectly
  4. Thomas, what version are you trying it with?
  5. it wouldn't work, when the un attend calls for theIE params during OOBE it would fail causing anything after it to fail as well
  6. http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?...KB;EN-US;825751 xcacls might be a way to go
  7. SP1 would need be installed before R2 can be installed, also R2 is an entire CD, (well 354 meg give or take) but you can just copy those files to your initial CD and run it after Windows installs
  8. Build the ISO and test it in a virtual Machine, you should do this until you are 100% positive that you like how the Unattend file is working for you. download VPC 2007 from microsoft, it is in beta at connect.microsoft.com
  9. 16 downloads and no reviews??? come on guys let me know what you think!
  10. my mistake Maxx, it is just teh WAIK
  11. Just a little doc i wrote up on the new OCT in office 2007 tell me what you think! Microsoft_Office_2007_Unattended_Install.pdf
  12. More information at http://bink.nu/Article8862.bink download it here http://download.microsoft.com/download/8/6...5-LRMAIK_EN.img
  13. configure your computer to do a crash dump, most likely it is a faulty driver that is gumming up the machine. 1. go into the advanced system properties (control panel => system) 2. under the advanced tab choose to write debugging information and change it to complete memory dump. next time it dies it will dump everything in memory at the time and we can see what is happening

    Rtm?

@fletch33 sorry dude, i thought keys weren't out yet, my mistake... x64 running extremely well though 2 gigs is what i would recommend for optimal preformance! your system just flies when it has that ram to work with. everything is happy execpt for stupid flash player that won't work on x64!!!
  15. sadly you can't get rid of the local installation folder as it is needed now, since administrative installation points have gone away. local installation files will always be generated for the installation.
  16. he was actually asking how long it took to compile the code for vista
  17. wrong tool, use OSCDimg oscdimg -n -m -b<location>etfsboot.com <Projectlocation> <ISOlocation> or with paths it would like this oscdimg -n -m -bc:\winpe_x86\etfsboot.com c:\winpe_x86\iso c:\winpe_x86\winpe_x86.iso you can get oscdimg from the BDD 2007 or several varsious toolikits from MS

    Rtm?

LOL. The entire world has an RTM key now. Are you really that suprised? :insert satire here: the entire world has Beta 2 RC2 keys, not RTM keys

    Rtm?

Suprising you have an RTM key already
  20. Hopefully end of this week, early next week (based on when the BDD is released) i will have a new Unattend Document up and going based on RTM. Look for it here next week some time
  21. you are right the WAIK are build specific (ie 6000 for rtm) so it will require the RTM of the Waik. should be out soon
  22. you will be using WDS on 2003 Servers (has to be 2003) and you will probably want use the BDD 2007 deploymeny kit to help deploy your image for it
  23. the %cd-rom% variable does not work with the unattend file, your best bet would be to inject the drivers into the WIM file itself, or use a configuration set
  24. boot with your Vista DVD and run the startup repair option, this will fix the BCD so it will boot both vista and XP
  25. Gah sorry guys the new BDD was delayed till the end of the week, i hope to have a short version up later this week (think wednesday) just to get people the idea of what is needed for vista to be used with an un attend file
