  1. Best thing is to buy a bluetooth dongle. Costs about £10 here (not sure in canada) and you can send absolutely anything you download from the PC, to the phone, for free. This goes for picture, music, videos and with a bit of knowledge, games.
  2. What do you mean you copied the Vista program to D? Have you burnt the disc correctly? You DO NOT burn the .iso file directly to DVD. You choose the option "Burn Image" or similar wording and then select the ISO. If your disc has burnt correctly it will have a structure ROOT ------boot ------docs ------efi etc Once you have your DVD, just insert it into your computer and install Vista by either following the onscreen instructions, but preferably, boot from the DVD. (Often you hold down the "C" key when you turn on your PC). That offers you the chance to clean install Vista.
  3. Hehehe - Found an app that won't work straight off! The XBox 360 XP SP2 software will either ask to be installed on XP, or if I run in compatibility mode will ask for XP to be updated :{ I think I might just install XP home and wait for my MCE key to become active again.
  4. I'm thinking of running 2k3 desktop as my main OS now - XP is just too bloated for my likes and unfortunatey my nlited install of it won't activate as I've done it too many times this month The main thing stopping me now is apps that will only install on the machine if it thinks it's running XP. Is there anyway to modify either the OS or installers to make it think it is XP so I can install these files? BTW: The main thing I would need working will be the Xbox 360 Connect (for XP SP2). I've got a choice of all these 2k3 setups: Standard R2 Enterprise R2 Standard Enterprise Small Business Premium Small Business Standard Is there any preffered one of these for a desktop
  5. Consider using Windows Live Messenger http://ideas.live.com and download from there.
  6. Get an External USB hardrive then - plug it into the 360 and it's picked up as portable device. However - I think there is a limit of 100 songs unless you stream it. You wouldn't be able to put your music on the 360 HDD as it has a paltry 13gb. Best bet would be to buy a very large internal HDD, install it into the PC networked to the 360 then configure it to stream.
  7. Probably 8mb - by which time I got bored and then signed upto broadband
  8. What I found is that early betas of IE7 wouldn't let you look at the history. So if you use IE7, get beta 2! Otherwise, do you have a file called "MessageLog.XSL" where all of your chats are located? If not, download the file, extract it and put it with your chat logs. MessageLog.rar
  9. Use Nero 7 - yeh it's full of bloat but it's never burnt me a coaster. Plus i'm too lazy to go back down to 6, i'm used to 7 now.
  10. Depends what sort of CD it is. Does it actually install XP or does it put an image onto the HDD?
  11. What build was you using? I find the 53** builds to be very high quality - and am going to be trying 5365 very soon. But it's by no means any replacement for XP/2003 just yet...
  12. I want to image my near-bare XP install. I've got all my basic programs (such as Acrobat and ABG) on, and it's fully updated. Just saves me time when it come to reinstalling. I'm looking for a program that can burn the image to a DVD/CD and make it bootable so I can restore through that way. I've had a look at Ghost 10, but are there any other alternatives (pref. freeware ones) which can also do this?
  13. How much free RAM have you got when you run it? How much free RAM have you got when you run it?
  14. Our Survey says... No. Still pretty much the same options as there was before - but in a new gui. Do you think it would be possible to install the lower models drivers, then use device manage to update to the 915?
  15. Good point - I downloaded the drivers from Toshiba and not Intel - I've done this already for the wifi drivers, but completely missed the Vid card. I'll let you know...
  16. Pivot Pro works a charm - but are there any freeware apps that can do this?
  17. Nope - theres no option in there
  18. Is it possible to rotate the orientation of the screen when using XP? I know on Windows 2000 all you had to do was press ctrl-alt-(direction) and it will do it- that provides hours of amusment at school Also, I run a widescreen laptop, so res is 1280x800. Will it reverse it to 800x1280 or will it just go into a complete mess?
  19. If you want to run the 64-bit version of Vista you need the x64 download. The x86 version will still run - just in 32bit mode.
  20. If I were you I'd up them processors and get a DVD drive - Chances are Vista will only be available on DVD discs.
  21. Do you have any links to the screenshots?
