  1. I think virtually all of the Centrino's are supported (not too sure about the older 845GM though) so you should be safe if you get a laptop with Centrino Technology anyway.
  2. I used to run some of the older builds (up to 5231) on a 700MHz P3 and 320mb RAM and it ran pretty well TBH. There was none of the fancy stuff present - but it ran.
  3. Latest VMC from build 5308 - looks very nice ATM!
  4. I've decided to go back to early LH builds now as the latest 5*** just don't feel as good as they could do. So I got out my 4074 dvd (my Fav!) and now when I try to install it (from DVD or Windows) it does the text (Loading Windows PE) flashed the longhorn loading screen then gives me a BSoD saying Memory Parity error - the system has been halted. It happens every single time, so am I doomed never to use 4074 again?
  5. Wierd, can you try using an antenna to see if you can get any channel through there?
  6. Is your cable decoder plugged in? Or is the Tuner cable compatible?
  7. Does anyone have a link to a certain type of dongle? Does it have to be MCE specific or will it work with any IR dongle? I've seen this: http://www.pcworld.co.uk/martprd/store/pcw...5&category_oid= but not sure whether it will do the job (and it's goddamn expensive too!).
  8. I'd try a quick format of D when you're in XP then start the installation from Windows.
  9. Does anyone have a link to a DVD Codec that will work with the MC app? Preferably a free one. I have an old version of InterVideo WinDVD but MC say the codec is either malfunctioned or not installed. WnDVD will still play my DVD's fine - but I'd prefer to use MC!!
  10. Followed the flyakite guide to make a multibooter with the cracked setupldr.bin from the sticky at the top of this forum. Now it gets into the PE environment (Does it have a proper name?) with the bluescreen, starts loading the drivers, tells me it's a 180 day trial (got it from M$) then when I press enter to "Install Windows" it says cannot find the EULA Agreement, press enter to reboot. I wonder if I accidentally deleted the file whiles creating my 3ENT folder or something or is it a problem when dong this to 2k3? If it is a missing file can I just insert it back in?
  11. Cheers... That 2000 thing was going back a few years now when I was just starting with computing.
  12. Is it OK to dual boot both XP and 2003 Enterprise? Back when I tried to Dual Boot XP and 2000 Server it Fuxxored up my XP installation and I've hated 2000 ever since. I already have XP installed on my C:\ Partition, so can I just pop 2k3 on D:\ or will I need to edit some boot settings to access both of them?
  13. I did follow the guide - but I've read somewhere that 2003 SP1 setupldr.bin has been changed and can detect it if you edit it or something like that - is this true?
  14. I'm also getting the same error - however I only get it on Server 2003, XP Pro and XP MCE for me load fine. And I too got 7 occurrences of I386 - is this anything to do with it?
  15. Just go into the language options, add language, select English (UK) then chnage the keyboard settings too. It's really annoying installing vista, and when it's finished mixing up " with @ and vice versa
  16. I got XP using UK Eng fine! As for Vista, build 5270 supports UK eng too - so surely the final will.
  17. I missed that link - cool vid
  18. Update: Maybe we will get a few new sounds (or maybe a hell of a lot new sounds): http://www.itnews.com.au/newsstory.aspx?CIaNID=21685
  19. As of build 5270 - no.
  20. MCE is a full OS - however it is actually at heart XP Pro, but without some networking features.
  21. I've tried XP Pro, Home and MCE 2005 and also 2k3. I have to say I personally prefer XP over 2k3 mainly because it's more user-oriented but I aint arguing 2k3 runs better because it does. Have to say the latest builds of Vista are really looking good now, actually becoming reliable too!!!
  22. For legal copies of MCE, CD1 is already bootable and I'm not sure on CD2. So why you would need to do this I have no idea.
  23. I have a new Toshiba Equium M40x and I installed MCE 2005 on it rather than use XP Home. It does have a built in IrDA port BTW. Right, what I have is an Xbox360 Premium and it came with the mini media remote. I am led to believe the full size remote will work on both the 360 and MCE, so is the mini remote the same? And, if it does do I need any extra software to get it working as it doesn't seem to be doing much as it is Cheers
  24. Have you tried extracting the exe using latest release of winrar and then pointing vista there?
  25. I thought it was Alt-Tab?
