Search for the string get_UsableVideoMemory in the file. Just below that, you should see the value 0x2000000. Change that to 0x1000000. Save the file and close notepad. 8. Go to your temp directory, and delete the copy of ehshell.exe that you have. 9. Using the Open Command Window Here powertoy, open Command Prompt to your tempory directory. Type "C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\(v1.1.4322 or v2.0.40607 or v2.0.50215)\ilasm.exe" /resource:ehshell.res /exe ehshell.il and press enter. If this process fails, download a new version of ehshell.res here, and replace the old version with this version. 10. Start Safe Mode 11. Backup your old ehshell.exe in the ehome directory to a different folder. 12. Copy and paste the new ehshell.exe from your temp directory to the ehome directory, replacing the old version (MAKE SURE YOUR OLD VERSION IS BACKED UP!!!!!). 13. Boot the computer again normally. 14. Start Command Prompt at the ehome directory. Now You Should have a completely working version of Media Center 2004 or 2005! You still must go to the old post if you need to download the nwe .res file.

Two things... 1. Yes You can, I do it all the time w/o any reg entry. And, yes, it is a legal copy, I can activate, my product key is just fine, and my sticker is also. 2. Are you sure this is a LEGAL copy you are using? Illegal copies usually have bugs implanted in them on purpose.

What if you have a MCE laptop???

This guide will only help if your video card has memory of between 16 and 32 megabytes. The video requirments are actually more tham 32 (33 or more) mb of ram. This makes it 16 (or should). Although this is most cases with Media Center Video, there are still other ways to make this happen.

A few weeks ago, I started recieving the error message: Stack overflow at line: 80 In Internet Explorer. This only occured on one web site: winsupersite.com It did nothing but was annoying. I reformated my HD and reinstalled Windows XP (for other reasons). Now, as of a few minutes ago, I started recieving the same error message on this website. Does anyone know what it means and how to make it go away? I attached a screanshot of the error. I am running Windows XP MCE2004 with SP2 and am using IE6. soal80.bmp

Windows Firewall is just as good as any other software firewall. That doesn't mean that it is as good as a hardware firewall, but if you are looking for a good software firewall, this one is free.

Will an MCE2004 CD key work on MCE2005 during installation?

Usually with those errors, the best fix is to reinstall Windows.

Copy the first CD to the HD, and then copy the second CD to the same directory. It will be larger than 700 megabytes, so you must put it on a DVD. If you do not have a DVD burner, you are out of luck.

Try slipstreaming SP2 with the CD (http://www.winsupersite.com/showcase/windowsxp_sp2_slipstream.asp or http://unattended.msfn.org/beginner/slipstream.htm) Then burn a new CD/DVD and perform a clean install (reformat the HD) You product key/license will still be legal and will work.
