with 256 I would set page file a little higher or get more ram. 256 is a little low for most needs.

First turn off paging files then defrag HD. Set minimum and max to the same size with this much ram bout 500 would be OK. If you get out of memory error set it higher. Just put min and max the same. I have 1024 meg physical memory and convert avi to dvd and some gaming, I turned off paging files and never got out of memory error or any adverse effects.

I have been using Nero for years without any problems. The answer to your question is to use the iso image as it is the cleanest sourse then use "burn image to cd" option

Tell Bill to release windows xp personal edition stripped of all the stuff people wouldnt need. or better yet a totally modular windows xp that is setup by default to single user.

More RAM is better but 128 is recommended minimum but this drpends on what you do with your machine. As far as best processor to use a whole discussion can be opened up. I like AMD myself while it uses more power and generates more heat it is generally a more rugged processor and lends itself to overclocking well.

The problem i have with programs doing everything for you, is that they do everything for you requiring no thought. While at times, this can be helpful....it has the drawbacks of idiots coming and using it and screwing up everything and then complaining. main problem i have with nLite though is NOT that it does what it does, and more then what it's name implies, but purely the people that it brings that want everything done for them and don't want to do anything for themselves. This is a couple of statements made and I hope I can comment without offending anyone. A lot of years back thousands even dinasaurs would crap by the caveman door,well these cavemen would scoup up the crap and carry it away so they wouldnt smell it. One smart caveman invented a wheel with a container on it so it would be easier to carry this dinasaur crap away. Was the cavemen lazy or idiots?

Ive been reading and think this project is exciting I hope it suceeds. Just wondering will it have auto support for deploying things @ t-12 and runonce? This would truly be an "all in one". Just my 2 cents . Good luck

Win AVI when decoding to the format you want DVD VCD SVCD etc it will give you the option of wide screen or standard. 1 added benifit it will take the region code out. Just play with options in it. This is the fastes and best out there

Thanks At the risk of sounding uninformed I like many have searched the forum for a way to do this. I am trying to learn this but the tutorals are way beyond my learning curve. Is anyone working on a program to totally automate this process? Where you can plug in what you want to run, then tell it when you want it to run T-12, reuonceex etc. A program such as this would be way cool and give the mass populace a way to experiment and learn the unknown. Anyone working on such a program? Please.

I need help on putting together a windows xp cd, I need a ,cmd to execute @ t-12 and another to execute @ runonceex. I know someone is going to suggest looking at the forum to get info. But for me if I had templates to use as a guide till I got comforfable with iy would be better. Do I need some text file also?

I use partition magic it is not free but it is the best. But if you search for a disc called "Ultimate Boot Disc" there is a series of utilities on there which would help, and this is free
