Using compressed air to clean fan is a good idea. Oiling not to good of an idea, why? They have sealed bearings and it wont do any good another reason when the fan spools up where do you think the oil will go. Maybe om the MB and short some things out. Try cleaning or replacing fan. DW

Which tool can expand the image of the OS?

I hope it works. Windows 2000 is a great OS but it does need to look better. Updated icons and a better looking tool/task bar. I hope it works and can replace existing files in the cd so it will install by default. Keep me updated

Thanks for the reply. Yes I use FF ATM but I always look for other browsers. I found the lite version of Netscape, it suffers from the same memory leaks as the full version but not as bad though. In my search I found Mozilla lite (not FF) it is a free download but I couldnt find any good links for the download. Any help for finding Mozilla Lite?

I am wondering if netscape offers a lite version of its browser. I use FF but experiment with other browsers which doesnt rely on IE core. Netscape is nice but hoggs resources mostly ram and keeps this in memory even when closed. So if anyone knows of a lite version of netscape or a good hack or tweak please let me know.

Remarks like this is very discouraging when someone is asking for help. A lot of people use 9x OS and there is nothing wrong with it. I repair a lot of computers and recomend the ones that come to me with 9x to go to an nt based OS. But some like the simplisity of 9x. I like it also, but I use nt based OS because I have a big HD and sometimes have to open very large rar files.

Not behind a router ATM I am direct connect. Mostly I download http. FTP downloads are stable depending on a lot of varibles beyond my control

I have DSL and pay for 2.5 speed. When downloading a file the first 2 mb or so download a about 1.5 mb/sec then slows dramatically. Can someone explain why is that?

I got a small question when fdv files are used mp is gone so would appreplacment slipstream mp classic in its place? Add/remove is gone since IE is gone I found a nice free replacement for it called easy uninstaller. It took a few tweaks to get it to work like install java and mscomctl32.ocx. Is there a better uninstaller and how could it be added to root?

Try remking your cd with different nvidea drivers.

Vanger I downloaded this driver extracted it with winrar and searched for those 2 files. They are now a part of the driver. The solution for the problem. I dont know, maybe remake your cd with a different driver.
