Offtopic:what this SLi technology every1's talkin bout?some articles wud be gud 4 sure.i heard u can use 2 video cards by that technology is that true? btw what's this pc 3200,pc 1600 r these the RAM speeds?(mite be a dumb question)

@zxian i agree with martin cause if u r usin Xp the virtual memory shud not be arnd 1.5 to 2 times larger than RAM.its reqd.. for 98/ME/NT.well i think u can defrag ur pagefile and keep it on different drives of the same hdd.will like 2 get some info about this though

try dr.divX gives the best compression or ashampoo. note:-dr.divX is a bit slow

well @rip i suggest just keep around 6gb space for ur OS and others as u desire like 8-10gb for appz and remaining for games.the 1 thing while partitioning thru partition magic use NTFS type and just set the cluster size to 4k instead of default 16k that wud save u some space.btw don't go for 2 many drives that's confusin and u r unnecessarily wastin space

well u will hardly notice ne difference in ata and SATA hdd's with same speed say like 7200rpm so well...u can have ATA also.if u really wanna speed up PC get a SATA controller card as @someoneelse suggested and get SATA 10,000 rpm hdd or SATA-2 specification hdd

ripken but having 2 256 dimm's at same speed and 128 at a lower speed wud be abottleneck just as u mentioned so that will slow down the PC.so what i suggest is go for 2 256's RAM's with same speed

well BSPlayer is also gud haven't had ne probs with that well VLC is a bit buggy

u can try netpeeker also really easy on system resources

u can try CPU-Z or sisandra software

u can always try irfanview the best proggy for capturing CAPS and i think its free

well i haven't tried this tools acronis true image expert/recovery dunno exact name or getdata tracker.if ya wanna recover the partition just recover it 2 some other hd and then transfer it 2 ur main hdd when u r satisfied.u can also try partition table doctor

yes u can but basically u will need 2 secure just have a password 4 it so that only u and ur partner can access it

u can use a tool called hfs which behaves sort of a ftp server but u need no client (the folder u want 2 save,u/l,d/l ,,etc...)use it from hfs as a ftp server.but just tell him 2 keep his Pc On while u wanna u/l sumthin or u can use sumthin like VNC but i doubt VNC can be used for sharing purposes
