  1. Linux is quite fun to set up if you have an extra machine laying around. Darn good OS. I cant believe it can compile the kernel, while running a dvd ripper, surfing the net, listening to music all at once with no hint of lag! It is amazing! Too bad it is not as easy as XP IMO. I am gonna acquire a machine and install Linux on it.....Gentoo I believe soon enough.
  2. SBC Yahoo.....29.95 I think...3 mbps I hate SBC. Service has been great but I think for the price we pay we should be getting at least 5 mbps. I am one of those people who think that the Internet should be free.
  3. Wow. Cool!
  4. I dont get why people are making kernels so **** complicated. Just make it as streamlined and as tweaked and compact as is possible. Forget supporting existing filesystems and so on. They need to have the basic kernel with the one preferred filesystem and a certain set of really preferred basic configurations. If people then want support for other things then they just download patches that automatically update the kernel and add the functionality. Like XEN for example. If I understand it correctly it will be a major feature of the kernel? Then what about all those people who dont want to use it ever? They are going to be stuck with bloat. Makes no sense.
  5. Interesting. Thanks.
  6. I doubt it would work with Dos 7.1 and I doubt 95. 98 ME either. I havent checked out system requirements yet. But that would be my guess.
  7. Dell 24 inch model is great and people swear by it. The 30 inch Mac display is what i would go with if you have the bux and the hardwarez.
  8. Is DC++ considered a P2P software? Cause if it is then it is my fave.
  9. Do you really need a firewall if you are behind a router?
  10. Just checked out your services list Jeremy....dang you must really not like services. I have a bunch running....but its cause I like IE to remember a few passwords, monitor my network and so on so forth. Still I am gonna try and disable a few more maybe....see what happens.
  11. WinRAR has that option. AFAIK.
  12. Cool stuff thanks.
  13. Just wondering if that trick worked.
  14. lmao. Ironic as I am going to a U2 concert in 2 days.
  15. Methinks you probably removed the core media player that is required for future media players to be downloaded and properly installed when you were creating your install cd using nLite.
  16. I used paint for drawing diagrams in a lot of projects and my friends used to be amazed at it. And also I use it for quick screenies or some quick edits. Other times I just turn on Picasa if i need to mod some pics from my dslr.
  17. I would think this is a driver problem.
  18. Seems like this is a preinstalled system. Whats the manufacturers name? I hate preinstalls. I always reformat and do my own install.
  19. 10 and I use it as my default vid player for all formats.
  20. Could be a faulty memory module maybe?
  21. So can we download it? This defender? I mean I already have Antispyware.
  22. Interesting phkninja. Wehre did you get that tidbit of info from?
  23. Ok ok so azureus is not a low-resource app but for all the functionality I can get out of it and the fact that it does not bog my machine down at all, meaning I can run Far Cry and have Azureus running in the background along with Trillian Pro, Google talk, Hello, and a few windows of the browser open...I am coo. Sure uTorrent is way lighter...but then again so if Foxit compared to what Adobe releases but I dont always read pdfs, I need to make them as well whether it be from web pages or from other sources....so I have Adobe Pro...sometimes its features and not the fact that is is lightweight drives my choice. But yes Azureus is not lightweight compared to uTorrent. I agree.
  24. Wow that is the first person I have come across who does not even have an SP?! Sweet!
