  1. It'd be much more productive to write on github. The creator doesn't visit us anymore, he won't see your wishes.
  2. Lossless, obviously, requires higher file size. We are talking the mere 3kb size for a profile pic.
  3. In short, thanks, but no. Long story. My original image from the phone was about 5mb, which the forum wouldn't accept. I resized it to 807px and 49kb (see the details). And even then, it still gimped the quality down to 3kb!
  4. Right, the last Chrome that works is 109, exactly two years ago. Just like in Windows 7.
  5. Woudn't png drastically reduce the quality?
  6. Hello. I decided to change my pic., added a new one, sized about 50kb, yet it was resaved to just 3kb. It was working fine last year.
  7. The noise is mostly low frequency hum (motor?), sometimes high pitched frequencies, older people don't hear high pitched noises.
  8. And for rather younger people like me, HDDs are not popular anymore, I think they are in decline, everyone just streams these days. That would explain the pitiful quality!
  9. Modern models are very hot. slow and noisy, most of them use the infamous "shingled" tech. for the economy. Overall, a very budget solution.
  10. It's simple, EFRX are a series of server models, hence the producer doesn't care about the noise, but at least it's more reliable, it works fine even today - 24/7.
  11. I'm sticking with 1.49 Developer version, later ones give me headaches, slow start with a yellow exclamation mark.
  12. My father had bought me a WD40EFRX in 2016, works till this day in my desktop. Though it's not quiet, but is a lot less noisier than Toshiba or Seagate.
  13. In this topic, we study Supermium, it's a Chromium based browser, and it is an elementary thing to understand.
  14. Thought so, as a member of this wonderful site, and a fan of the old OS.

  16. Thanks for the explanation, I'd rather thought win32 took that into account.
  17. That's probably due to the things people dream of, or simply want to see in their life. Yes, I too like to be Captain Obvious. I'm starting to notice later versions of uBlock let some ads to slip through in Supermium, is it the old engine? Or I need to downgrade the UBO?
  18. I wish this latest version supported Vista. Happy Holidays!
  19. But hey, I heard they restored in some forks, so try it. As the last resort. GB Times / October 2, 2024 https://gbtimes.com/how-to-stop-videos-from-automatically-playing-chrome/
  20. The flag to stop playing the videos had been removed a long time ago. It was still working in my kindergarten times, in 201x. https://www.howtogeek.com/340967/how-to-prevent-videos-from-autoplaying-in-chrome/
  21. Isn't Supermium supposed to be already "rebased", as it officially supports XP?
  22. "A" guy, as in there are many of you? Or you meant the guy, as in the only one. Thanks.
  23. I'm lookin' for 348.10 32bit, it's hardcoded to my laptop. can't use any others, neither of those still working sites have it. (
  24. No, very moot.
