What happens when i put /PAE for 32bit XP in "boot.ini" ? what is its purpose ? any advntges ?

Win XP MCE == XP PRO +MCE app MCE only available as OEM or MSDN Retail versions Win XP MCE (2002)((actually XP Pro SP1 with MCE App)) slipstreamed with SP2 ==> MCE 2004 if u slipstreamed in MCE OS otherwise winXP Pro SP2 only contain WMP9 not WMP10 MCE 2005 newer than MCE2004 !!! has sonic CD/DVD burnig,WMP10 MC app newer than MC app in MCE2004 to install MCE2004 retail CD of XP pro sp2 & CD2 with MCE 2004 CD Key ==>willnot work with Corp Edn. CD to install MCE 2005 reatail or OEM CD! CD2 of MCE 2005 and MCE 2005 CD key --Retail or OEM depnd .on CD used MCE 2005 CD1 - Reail or OEM with Retail or OEM XP Pro SP2 CD key install XP Pro only get WMP10 with it MC2004 with Pro CDKey give XP Pro get only WMP9

Why u all doing these recompilation or deassembling of M$ code it their © dont Start MC go Settings-->General-->Startup and Window Behaviour--> untick show"Not Desgined For Media Center"dialog isn't it enough ??

Oh Yes i hav SATA-I HDD in that 1 partition is FAT32 --remaining 4 are NTFS by booting frm FreeDOS floppy it mounted the FAT32 partition as C:\ i can access it with R/W support but only in 8.3 format

MS-DOS doesnt support SATA ? isn't it ? so im using FreeDOS , how to create a free DOS boot disc with format,fdisk etc commands and SmartDrive to XP start setup directly frm HDD ---to avoid istalling frm CD and do it frm HDD --might speedup installation, ?

just install SRV2k3 wherever u want without disturbing Linux then it will overwrite the mbr so that GRUB willnot be ther to load boot u s/m with Fedora cd1 type "linux rescue" at the install propmt that just booted it will find the installation and asks u to mount it, Let it be mounted the mount point willbe probably "/mnt/sysimage" now u will be in command console execute "chroot /mnt/sysimage" followed by "grub-install /dev/hda" Note : if u have SATA HDD it should be /dev/sda exit and reboot now u will ge grub back

Ya.. there the problem goes as far as i know M$ doent support RockRidge so u have to make the iso in Joliet support ,and of course linux support it okay ... isolinux is used for loading install kernel so frm the multiboot loader call the boot image u saved in order to boot linux keeping in mind that "isolinux" folder should be in the root of the ISO

Have u altered the source CD ie nLited else ? or u deleted the "BOOTFIX.BIN" frm I386 directory ? The problem might due to that above or due to err in wring the bootsector and setting up the mbr of the drive

Fedora is a community supported Project and has help frm RedHat RedHat stopped producing consumer OS its now only on server field thos editions are paid subscriptions the fedora project has support frm RedHat One Qn. how did u combined the Fedora iso s into one ? to add windows to this is use some multiboot shells like CDShell or use EasyBoot put windows root to the root of the iso as usual and setup is booting -->refer multi boot CD/DVD forum to boot linux , setup the multiboot shell to boot to images/boot.iso or may it can be put to the root of the CD I think this method will work or do an alernate method get a bootable floppy image of syslinux or GRUB and setup it properly to boot the install kernel in the isolinux folder (kernel : vmlinuz ,RAMDisk: initrd.img) or try to boot to "isolinux/isolinux.bin", i dont know does it work or not , bcoz i havnt tried it

actually nothing need to be edited :-) installtion assumes current root of install media contain all the files.. installation first searches the MCE files inth current root , the root of the CD1 for the cmpnents\medctr folder and remaining files if it doesnt find it ,consult the txtsetup.sif to relocate it and asks for CD2 prompt ***** THIS OCCUR ONLY WHEN MCE CD KEY IS DETECTED ***** otherwise continue to install XP pro EVEN if netfx=on freestyle=on bcoz i used to copy the cd 2 to cd1 and as single root nLite it put winnt.sif with mce key go unattended activation ; its done later, 60 day remaing PS :: this is same applicable to TPCE also

u should integrate the HDAbus driver frm 'commonfiles' to th cd/dvd with nLite or manually so that XP setup will use that driver for MS UAA HD audio then only do Realtek driver installtion

I did was Integrated kb888111 with nlite--> installed XP installed realtek driver no sound IInd try integrated it manualy ,queued the driver for integration with drivers in nlite called setup.exe of the realtek driver installer with switch -s it worked

i had the same prblm with my D915GAV m/b here how 2 slolv it extract KB888111xpsp2 there is a "commonfiles" folder queue "inf"s in this folder in nLite driver integration install Realtek driver after that ie via RunOnce or batch or else it worked for me

I want to limit the login time of specific users t o fix between some periods only eg: a user, say Mike can only login between 8:00AM to 8:00PM y and not allowd to login on sundays it is 2b implemeted ona stadalone workstation OS can be 2k,XP or 2k3

by creating the boot folder using the tool "Boot Folder" and i386 directory in HDD partition and adding entries in boot.ini for that is it possible to install xp as like starting XP install frm existing OS by just starting Setup.exe (ie Upgrade or Fresh Install)

I removed Luna Theme frm MCE in nLite i use my own VS in my theme In RunOnceEx i load it using ApplyTheme.exe but after loading my theme windows loads Royale windows load it after RunOnceEx had finished so i have to redo theming manually Is it possible to remove Royale too ?

Use "%SystemRoot%\Resources\Themes\My Theme.theme" check ur theme file for correct name of Visual style name
