  1. I wrote - several members said that Vista x64 startup failures were "fixed" by some "magical updates" , but no one tells which updates exactly and I don't know too , honestly I have my doubts , I tried to update to 03.2019 and 12.2019 and it only made the startup (black screen) worse.
  2. Well you could try to run the updated (*fully updated*, they like to call it that here) Vista x64 and see if it loads fine. From what I've been reading on several topics on MSFN , several members , including @win32 wrote the problem supposed to be solved after you apply some mysterious updates (which they never tell what numbers they are exactly), yet it don't , at least for me. For example , there is a member daniel_k , who wrote the problems were gone after "he updated", and when I asked him what updates he applied exactly , the topic was locked ! He just wrote : "Mods close this thread." Marvellous , right ? Have a look for yourself. https://msfn.org/board/topic/179810-download-links-for-all-vista-sp2-32-bit-and-64-bit-updates-from-windows-update/?do=findComment&comment=1217154
  3. I'm glad for you , what does it have to with the ex-kernel for Vista ?
  4. Found a much newer Quadro driver from 2016 . Everything works for me . The driver has nice FPS. https://catalog.s.download.windowsupdate.com/c/msdownload/update/driver/drvs/2016/04/20864723_39cc06ff945833c7d831d32881aa44798acf24d8.cab
  5. Jesus Christ , I only asked you *politely* to stop insulting the United States and stay on the eco-topic but you switched to insulting me. In your basket , I'm not "normal" simply because I don't insult the US, I see.
  6. As an example , LGA775 has IntelME backed into the chipset since 2006-2007. There's plenty of information about it , you could find yourself . I wrote about the newer CPUs here because it's on-topic , since we have problems with Vista x64 not starting well on Haswell+ . And I'm afraid there's literally zero active people in this topic (now I know except you) who would be interested in LGA775.
  7. This is where you are dead wrong . Intel has plenty of nasty stuff backed into their CPUs for a long time . "The software protection" ..."unique application isolation technology"..."remote attestation is an important "security" feature" https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/developer/tools/software-guard-extensions/overview.html Now ,as an example, we could look at some random cheapest CPU from the early 2015 which already got it ! https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/products/sku/88179/intel-pentium-processor-g4400-3m-cache-3-30-ghz/specifications.html And this is only a tiny part that they told us officially . Who knows what other crap they backed in ... And don't forget about the dreaded IntelME. "Intel® Identity Protection Technology" -allows to create your unique fingerprint , for example used in browsers. https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/download/645981/intel-identity-protection-technology-based-token-provider-for-rsa-securid-software-token.html Intel® Memory Protection Extensions (Intel® MPX) "provides hardware enhanced protection" I wonder could it be the cause for the well known bug Vista x64 not starting up well on Haswell and up , with or without the kernel.
  8. BEX errors usually tell that you have a non-Pentium CPU or a CPU made after 2008. They did some nasty stuff to the iCore family processors. Some "antivirus" or copy protections added to the CPU ? I have examples where certain software works on Pentiums (including Haswell) while throws this exact error on iCore family (even on the 1st iCore gen.). That's why I try to avoid the stupid "iCore" , it's defo NOT for hackers , lol . Some AMD may work OK , but not the modern ones.
  9. I have a question , by any chance do you know what Display.Optimus folder is ? Some say it's for combo laptops with Intel/Nvidia . I deleted the folder , installed the driver without it , yet the switching between the cards works. Any ideas ? Anyone ?
  10. 1 - How do you know this exact file belongs to this technology ? Any articles you can share with us ? I want to beleive you, but some may want hard proof. I have a second G-Sync monitor and deleting it didn't break that technology. Besides , there's this article where they suggest to delete it. https://forums.evga.com/GSync-active-on-desktop-workaround-m2371973.aspx And this forum seem to have a good reputation. 2 - For example , https://github.com/gnif/LookingGlass/issues/362 in this article they confirm the plugins to have terrible problems. If you want , I can leave them be and write a warning. What files do you need exactly ?
  11. logging into anything at this point isn't such a good idea because they all demand your phone number . I certainly could give them one of many sim cards I bought at the nearest train station from the albanian gastarbeiters , but I just don't want to bother myself with entering codes , not willing to give up my location with the gps , etc.
  12. @win32. There are two crappy files in the driver installer folder- nvcompiler32.dl_ and nvcompiler64.dl_ . What do they do apart from taking up the space on my HDD ? Found this article . https://forums.developer.nvidia.com/t/nvcc-on-windows/46427 I deleted them (replaced with blanks and everything works fine). I didn't lose the CUDA , it works OK. Perhaps you know , thanks. P.S. Also found some (telemetry/streaming) crap in the installer that I deleted. Trying to remove everything that could potentially cause the 32 bit BSOD. nvgsyncdetours.dl_ (sync with nvidia servers?) . And some idiotic plugins that cause low fps. I have found that the presence of the %WINDIR%/System32/NvFBC64.dll causes very bad latency and stuttering. And I'm not the only one who noticed ! nvfbc.dl_ nvfbc64.dl_ nvifr.dl_ nvifropengl32.dl_ nvifropengl64.dl_ https://github.com/gnif/LookingGlass/issues/362
  13. Yep, looks like it . I'd say the 64-bit is more laxed and easier to mod (not saying easy) , just easier than 32. Your kernel would be a good example. So what are these inverted values mean ? Guessing not a spell number in the inventory.
  14. To the 5th - And from what I understood , you're still living with your parents , which is actually good for the global warming , I guess.
  15. 1 - Expressing opinion is one thing and there are suitable words for it. Calling one of the respected countries a "3rd world craphole" is an insult. I bet you use an American CPU , not Slovenian ? 2 - "American posters who are discontent with "the way things are in their country". -LOL. And you know this how ? How do you know "the way things are in their country" ? 3 - Google search engine is a commie propaganda machine , so no wonder it would insult America. 4 - School shootings ?!??! What does it have to do the climate topic ? We are talking about countries and their role in the polution ... I once saw a russian "history" book for foreigners *from 60 years ago* and they promised *since the dawn of ages* "America will be dead soon" , lol. Yet it stands. 5 - One's got to learn not to trust the TV. Doesn't look like Slovenia is doing good, judging by what you write how you live (don't own an AC , driving a car from 1991 and so on). 6 - Yep, and I do everything I can to defend it - fighting the orcs in Ukraine, I'm gonna go there for the second tour. And by saying sh*t about America you're helping them , not us. So which side are you on ? P.S. I personally think you're a good member, but not when you insult us.
  16. Just search for "chrome browser extension spoof system settings for the time zone" and then try to choose the time zone you want. Lots of them. Will it fix the issue ? I don't know , but doesn't hurt to try. Will also reduce your fingerprint.
  17. Will do and test on 32-bit . Can't promise when.
  18. 1 - I don't understand the meaning of this word . Extremists according to whom ? Who sets the boundaries ? Who and by whom is allowed to set the boundaries ? Well for me , rockclimbers are quite extreme fellas too , so ? "Extremists" in this "modern" meaning smells like government introduced .... maybe FBI or smth like that. 2- I know you're a good person too.
  19. Could you just control yourself ? > I mean not clicking dangerous links , etc , lol. Jokes aside , if you want to test some suspicious software, it's better to do it on another (not main PC). It's cheaper to buy a new test PC than to pay for the virus soft.
  20. Do you always beleive everything you read on the internet ? Could be psy-ops , could be actors , could be FSB posing as "nazi" americans , could be anyone behind this to discredit the fellow Westerners. You need to judge by the deeds , not the words . There's a thing , a marvellous thing in the states , called freedom of speech . Did they actually kill or torture anyone ? And was it proven by the court of law ? And now go and see what happened after "the most peaceful BLM protests" , say in Minneapolis. So sorry , I'm not going to read that link about that "scary" dudes.
  21. I don't know, I just hit the reply button and perhaps it was saved by the server keylogger , I didn't have time to finish typing , then I forgot and only replied today, when I finished testing the drivers.
  22. Well, looks like you liked it, hence the reaction. I just want to ask you , why many of you don't talk about any other countries as the main source of pollution ? Always US this , US that , US overconsumes and soon . Why no talk about China ? Russia ? India ? Vietnam ? Only the "US is the 3rd world craphole in your book" (like you previusly wrote, which insults me , and I don't know whether it insults the other US members, but guess it should!), and the US must be blamed for everything, inluding the climate , in your point of view ? So the image is for the enemies who are given the choice to leave and/or never visit the West/US so they won't be able to undermine our western countries from the within.
  23. Thank you Dave, you're very helpful. The excessive spacing has been removed.
  24. I actually remember that card , I was silly enough to buy it new at the release (full price) and later hated myself for the money down the drain, 'cause it was too weak, even for the 2003 games. It could barely play SpellForce, for example. A bit Later I had to buy 8800, but it was too weak too ,lol. The first somewhat useful cards for old games only start from GTX 780 or smth like that.
  25. Dear friend , I'm not sure it's that simple as you put it . I'm not a US citizen , but "Trump-is-the-source-of-Evil" crap again , 'cmon , lol. Isn't it a bit out of date? Where did you meet (see) these "proud boys" and how do you know what they actually say, if you mostly sit at home ? You wrote it yourself many times.
