I just don't understand how can you not see the difference . And yes , I've made everything like you said. Still 3.0.0 and above stick with Win10 buttons and older versions have Vista style buttons . Yes , they became somewhat better after the patch , but not to the point of representing the previous glory. So I agree with the previous poster , VLC devs made something ugly to the buttons. The shot was taken on Vista x64.

I've never had this issue with any of Vista builds (SP or not). And I'm kinda Vista veteran. My first Vista RTM PC had 4GB of RAM , bought in 2007 , reinstalled many times without any issues too . Also, had RTM installed on Haswell back in 2013 with 16GB of RAM , and yes , it was x64. Logon happened from to time , even though I had defender removed since 2007 or so . Later I began to notice slower extraction of huge files with WinRar , when I replaced my mobo in 2010 , but i think it was chipset bound . I still have that mobo with Intel Q45 chipset and the extraction process is like 1.5 times slower , even when SP2 installed. I think it's a weird combination of the mobo's chipset and 2TB/3TB/4TB Seagate HDDs , because I never noticed such problem with other HDD manufacturers. I agree about the VRAM problem , it persists in RTM , that was the reason I moved to SP1 on my gaming PC , in 2009-2010 (approx.). Though , I still think RTM is better in many aspects. P.S. Would be interested in getting back to RTM too.

Wow , a new member who also loves Vista , esp. RTM . Welcome. I'm interested too . Though I haven't used RTM quite a long time. Try the local method , I won't double post , just scroll back.

Is a spy , better to avoid it . Don't you think ?

Absolutely true observation , confirmed by many years of my personal experience , with one exception , don't forget that the load these days is nowhere near the load we had in the 90s , these days we have power hungry GPUs. I don't think there was something like that in 1993 , so the results would be much different and Delta wouldn't seem so good , I guess . If you want older mobos/PSUs to last longer , just turn them on once in a while.

Hello , that's a very fine research ! I can confirm it also works with MPC-HC (a very similar player , also free) . By any chance , do you know how to force DTS HD with MPC-HC ? It's quite OK in terms of picture quality , but it's sound defaults to simple DTS (compressed core or even PCM stereo) , if any HD track is selected in options. VLC plays DTS HD with receiver just fine . But with MPC-HC , not . Thanks.

Perfectly working for me with aero interface on Vista Sp1 and Sp2 too.

In your opinion, what are the best/worst versions of Microsoft Windows?
Dixel replied to win32's topic in The Poll Center
Windows Vista SP1 is very fast too , at least for me. -
Yes , you're right . I just thought it was necesary to tag a supervisor so he could intervene and keep this topic clean , also add a function where one could be able to block members . Besides , I've already asked a user (not pointing fingers at anyone) to stop disturbing win32 and me with longish texts containing the same questions over again . Please tell , is there a "block user" function over here ? I can see only "ignore" , but that isn't helping.

I wanna back with @dencorso . I can go a long way describing the ugliest things that 21st century has brought. But I guess that makes no sense, since you most likely don't remember the 20th. I totally agree with him about "oversensitive generation" , I have a girlfriend , almost 20 years yonger than me , and she is so oversensitive , oh boy . Literally about everything that previous generations wouldn't even notice . But you're right , we should keep this topic clean , so I'll refrain from it . I'm just saying that your "solution" is not working in my case (but @dencorso is right again , you shouldn't delete , it could be somewhat useful to others), and the instructions that were given by our guru @win32 (local , no updates after April 2017 , etc ) are 100% bullet proof. By the way , how things are going under this "virus" "lockdown" in your favourite 21st century ? (rhetorical question) "lockdown" is a prison term , but that seems to be ok with most of young people/millenials ?! (rhetorical too) Rhetorical means you don't have to write an answer , so I'm not waiting for one . I really hope you'll keep in balance after reading this, please don't get nervous.

Hi , I'd like to add . All versions starting from Opera 69 do NOT remember extensions' settings . They revert all settings to default if the browser is re-launched. Chromium is even worse . It simply turns them off (tested on chrome 86). I mean the extensions without locale settings , which I managed to install.
-
You see , you've just confirmed what win32 have been saying , you don't need to go any further than April 2017 for system replacement (yet you don't listen again !) , and the instructions were not deleted , they are here , repeated many times in the comments . I'm not gonna respond you anymore , please write to someone else and refrain from asking me and win32 the same questions over again , if you don't respect me , at least show some decency towards his marvellous work. Don't want this to end blocking you up completely . Edit : Better to use internal messaging and not pollute this topic with personal instructions , thanks. Goodbye.
-
I respect , so should you . How come it's not working only for you ? Ask other members if you don't want to listen to me , but please don't distract @win32

You were asking about >firefox< (and this has been answered earlier , scroll back) . Isn't this your question ? "What exactly does that mfplatsetup.cmd script do? How does it improve video playback on Firefox/forks of Firefox?"
-
Win32 is really busy with more important things than answering this loooong texts . You should read and re-test for youself , like many times. Like we do. Trial and error . You're not the only one , you know. And read the original instructions precisely (maybe use translate if you don't read English well enough) I repeat his words again : April 2017 . (hence the famous ISO)
-
It's already been answered earlier too. Please , do not double post , just scroll back , use search , e.t.c.
-
Well , those aren't "my instructions" , those were given by win32 and PERFECTLY working in my case (the local method). If you want , you may scroll back and read it in his own words (why didn't you do that earlier, if you don't understand my explanations ?) . I'm not really sure what you do , but I remember you even had problems with BSOD after replacing the kernel in your system , yet others didn't . Win32 told many times , his files are meant to Vista updated to April 2017 , you may ask again or re-read the comments . So best solution would be the local method , yet it doesn't work in your case too . Perhaps you may wanna ask someone else.

Same here. Aero not working .
-
This is realy fantastic !
-
Yes, all of them . Opera's own launcher and installer not needed (you only need your portable launcher) , also may throw away opera_autoupdate and opera_crashreporter . (!) How needs that ?
-
Replace all files in your x86 portable version with the extracted files from Opera 72 (64 bit) from the link I gave you . Extract with 7zip . I have a fully working Opera , it works 100% percent ! Also you need to add the flag to the shortcut , win32 wrote about (scroll to the earlier comments). Don't forget to like and ask , don't be shy xD . Edit : This works if you replaced the kernel in your system already . If you use the local method , I gave you full instructions earlier.
-
Please tell , the buit in adblock is updating lists in your case ? My aero isn't working too.
-
There you have it ! You need ONLY 64 bit . I will share this direct link to ALL official Opera versions from their archive . https://get.geo.opera.com/pub/opera/desktop/ You just need to extract it with 7zip , replace the files in your portable version, no installation needed . And use that portable launcher. Everyone , notice he has Aero working with Opera...
