This is a fully legit question, I already wrote before, when it's impossible to make a hardware decode, it need s to fallback to software-only automatically. It doesn't happen with AV1, so it's a pure bug.
-
I can be mistaken, but I think MPC-HC is open source, why not use its resources? MPC-HC accelerates videos on my system without troubles.
-
What if you download the problematic video, rename AV1 to .mp4 and drag-n-drop on the browser?
-
Sorry, I don't have a github account. Voltage spikes, when starting the browser or trying to play a video, on my GPU happen with both of those dlls.
-
Vista x86 WITHOUT SP1 or SP2, yes, using D3D9 HW acceleration-mode because in Vista WITHOUT SP1 or SP2, DX11 wasn't implemented yet, so the behaviour is rather similar to XP. Driver version 347.26 (iCafe). Nvidia Titan 6gb (Jan. 2013). Probably make use of the Vista's native DX10, then?
-
My GPU goes into full rampage mode. That said, it's not normal, even if we all understand it was made in January 2013, it can still play games up to 2018. Load shows as 100%. Temps would be like I was playing a demanding game.

Oh wow! Interesting result on multi gazillions core CPU. I only use a 2013 dual core Pentium on that PC with the internet. Both cores frequent to the max with literally everything with this browser. Pentium G3470.

Hello and welcome to MSFN! Please pass on the warmest greetings from my Iguana to the Chilean Iguanas. P.S. * My pet Iguana, from the Dutch territories in Latin America.

I don't have 9 series, and I always disable acceleration because more and more videos are now AV1 or HEVC 10bit. To sum it up, anyone with older video cards (below 2014) needs to disable it, too. Not sure if the developer would even bother himself with the testings on relics.
-
AV1 decoding isn't natively supported with the 7th series of nVidia. But then again, it's the browser's fault, Thorium would need to fall back to just software decoding instead of glitching out.
-
And then you ask me why I disable all acceleration on my Titan (from the same 7 series)! I even have much worse result, it spikes to the max all the time. GTX770 is a re-branded GTX680, which would be 12-13 years now (or more). Probably try older drivers? People reported somewhat decent results with 347.26 or 355.xx (iCafe).

A long time ago, I noticed a bug in uBlock, when you spoof your UA to some odd ones (like Firefox on iOS), it behaves oddly, not updating lists, etc. Try with the default UA.

What about modern games? Any benefits from using KexSetup_Release_1_1_1_1375?

About a book on 80x86 Assembly
Dixel replied to Humming Owl's topic in Programming (C++, Delphi, VB/VBS, CMD/batch, etc.)
Hi. For using MASM on your ordinary 64-bit Windows Vista, I suggest you familiarise yourself with DOSBOX and install it first. -
Hi, well, I checked again, and passwords are saved, but cookies aren't functioning.
-
Could be the engine is still at 109 chrome? All new uBlock versions work as expected in other ports.

Sorry, it's very late here, in Holland, I'll re-check tomorrow. Night,

--disable-machine-id switches of the generating of a unique ID. That ID serves several purposes, the first one is tracking and helping police to investigate and build a case against you, if you don't behave. It's used to prove you posted threats from your PC (for example). P.S. I'd always use this flag with Thorium, especially! Remember the scandal with child porn? (can be read at the start)
-
For me, If I use always use --disable-machine-id and --disable-encryption, only extensions and saved passwords are left. Cookies are completely broken if moved to another PC.
-
It shouldn't be like that, even if you always used those two flags. Probably your motherboard, OS and username are the same or similar? The browser gets you PC info via GetOEMCP. Is it on XP, by any chance? https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/win32/api/winnls/nf-winnls-getoemcp
-
Yes! But Opera devs don't allow to use them.
-
Most private data collecting browsers, like the infamous Chinese Opera, don't allow to use that flag! This ought to tell something! We, along with @D.Draker, discovered it's bound to Opera Customer Unique ID.
-
I hope you all know that a new profile must be initially created using the two portable flags, and don't even think to launch it without them even once!

Registry is there for a couple of main purposes. It includes tracking, logging for devs, surveying the legitimacy of software (trial timers, etc), simplifying police/forensic investigators.
