I don't know if the extended kernel has any impact on java jdk 16 but it installs and works! (i doubt that oracle still cares about vista but java 8 still receives updates that work on vanilla vista) I don't know if you can actually use it to develop things (jdk = java development kit) but minecraft 1.17 won't run without it (thank god that multimc exists because the native launcher won't load)

in the mega folder you will find a file named "DLLredirectionenabler.reg" merge it and then restart the system

well i guess i misunderstood the situation also i retried getting updates for netframework 4.6 in win server 2008 sp2 (now set to use microsoft update) and got just 2 updates.. every time i check for updates it says it's up to date 2nd also: does anyone have trouble getting office 2010 up to date on vista or server 2008? every time i check for updates it gets stuck searching (except the first time when i get 52 updates including sp2 (office 2010 pro plus with sp1)). office 2007 doesn't have this problem but still i was expecting more updates than what i got since o2k7 is older than o2k10

is there any way to make a "localized" version of firefox with the required dlls? I tried this and it works! no need to install mfplat and break other windows components like wmp, dreamscene and experience index you just need to make a folder called "firefox.exe.local" in the folder where you extracted the installer so you can run it as "portable" and then throw in there the 4 mfplat DLLs

that's not how it works install.wim from vista contains most of the os (vista) inside it, like system files (eg. system32) if you replace that with windows 10's that basically means that you are trying to install windows 10 but with a vista installer

there are a few updates that you need to install manually in order to get windows update to work. search on youtube "windows vista update fix/ stuck" this might work for you, for me it doesn't work even with the manually installed updates but it's worth trying

you won't find any drivers that are compatible with you gtx 1660s and windows vista unless you mod them (I don't know how btw)

tried this mod with ver 372.54 and 372.70 and the performance is the same for me when running dx9 or dx11 in heaven benchmark (with and without the mod) the performance in games is the same too (in fnaf 1/2/3/4 and ultimate custom night i have huge lag spikes, especially in the last one)

if you got it working that's awesome! what games have you tested? what games are you planning to test in future? i have a gtx 1060 (is it compatible with your mod?) and i'm running driver version 372.54 (got it from asus's website) and games like minecraft and euro truck simulator 2 work fine but others run at like 10 fps

I still suggest you to update the bios to the latest version (if the current version that you have is outdated) and try again with all sticks of ram

have you tried updating the motherboard's bios to the latest version?

i'm 99% you won't even be able to install vista on that thing hd620 was used in kaby lake cpus which means that when you boot from your dvd you won't be able to use your keyboard or touchpad or any usb device

60C idle? I think that's a little too high my i7 3770 is like 65c when in full load try to reseat the cooler

Reinstalled the windows, now everything works I tried using the patch the guys on MDL forums made but it kept searching endlessly (let it search for about 19 hours), tried different fixes from youtube but got the same result so I used the updates I used before (I don't know what I did wrong the first time) Also has anyone tried the most recent version of firefox (89.0b9)? 88.0.1 is the current stable build and works fine but the newest one doesn't render text properly if at all

I have an iso of win 2008 sp2 I can test to see what updates I can get for net framework 4.6.1 if someone wants I think you can still get it for free directly from M$ (at least that's how I got mine)

I actually tried that and it kept searching for updates endlessly (at this point I already had all the updates that greenhillmaniac gave to us) I will reinstall the windows thursday when I get a better CPU, RAM and SSD for my laptop and try again 1 more question: should I install all the updates that greenhillmaniac provided (there are over 700, including server 2008) or should I ignore them and install whatever I get after installing that WU patch?

I have the same problem I can't even install new programs not even realtemp or cpuz will start (they worked before installing the kernel; cpuz gets stuck at 15%) edit: and yes, I had all vista updates till eol and the win server 2008 updates 2nd edit: UAC doesn't show up when trying to install new programs or when launching programs that usually require it
