  1. you don't anything newer than 3rd gen intel isn't a good idea
  2. dont do that either get a 900 series or stick to what you have because game performance is pretty poor on gtx 10xx
  3. i have a 90gb ssd partition for vista with 40gb free (with so much crap installed on it's not even stable anymore) so about 60gb should be ok
  4. I guess he wants rtx 20 series support because that's one of the first drivers to include support for them (411.63) those only stretch up to pascal series
  5. i dont think you can run 1.18 and up because of a bug that doesn't load any world 1.17.1 was the latest version i can get running
  6. https://superuser.com/questions/243874/what-is-crcdisk-sys-and-what-it-means-when-it-freezes-to-load there are only 3 possibilities that i can think of 1. the iso is corrupted 2. the usb drive is bad 3. windows 11 does not like windows vista my guess is that windows vista recognizes other installations on the hard drive and given that it is older it doesn't know what windows 11 is (happened to me with windows 10) i would format the entire HDD/SSD (save the personal files of course) and start with vista and then install w11
  7. i don't know man; that bsod code means there's a problem with the ram but since windows 11 works i doubt it is a bad memory stick what iso are you using? are you sure it's original? msdn ones are but i can't give links sadly
  8. https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/windows-usb-dvd-download-tool this looks like it's the official page but the download link has been dead for some time now and the wayback machine won't help either just search on google because i don't think i'm allowed to share random links here
  9. are you sure that you don't have a corrupt installation media? remake the usb drive or whatever you are using with windows 7 usb dvd download tool (works with vista ISOs too)
  10. do you have windows 11 already installed? your pc "technically" doesn't officially support it so it might be the fact that windows 11 doesn't like older versions in dual boot (hopefully i'm wrong) generally it's better to start with the older version and then go to newer
  11. no at least i don't know a way with the current ex. kernel version; with the 05142021 you are able to launch (in small mode) the 6th oct. 2020 build but a lot of games won't launch because the client is outdated, even if some may support vista (ets2 is a good example) maybe you can try making a steam.exe.local folder and throw the 05142021 dlls in there and hope it launches with the current version of ex. kernel but i doubt it will work (dllredirectionenabler.reg must be merged if you try this)
  12. had the same issue. copy kernel32.dll.bak (if you already have the ex kernel) from SysWOW64 to SysWOW64(yea same folder) and rename it to kernelol.dll
  13. a slight off topic it's not that im Russian(I'm not btw) or that i really enjoy using it. on windows 10 i use bitdefender but on vista i don't know a good replacement, i mean I could use avast but it's about the same thing as spyware goes and Malwarebytes needs a paid subscription to get active detection or whatever it's called. if yall have any suggestion i can switch any time
  14. can't wait to test this on my gtx 1060 unfortunately i'm not in town for the next 3 weeks so no feedback from me until then
  15. you could just write a disclaimer or warning of false positives
  16. could you share the driver? or perhaps a way to modify it in order to make it work? also i saw you saying something about some fujitsu drivers working on vista.. i guess you know what i want to ask you
  17. it happened to me with a lot more programs i found that it is best to install everything that supports vista first then the kernel and only then try to experiment with the not officially supported stuff
  18. for adblocking yall could try using a dns (go to chrome's settings and search "dns" under the security tab -> advanced) fill in the blank space with dns.adguard.com it works on my phone but on my pc i use firefox
  19. do extensions work? i would test that myself but im not at home
  20. has anyone tried chrome or chromium? long time has passed since i've seen someone mention these two
  21. are you trying to update an older ex kernel? that could be the issue
  22. i dont think this model is worth even if it works (which i was asking too a few months ago) the m5000m is much closer to gtx 980m (at least specs) also the m4000m has only 4gb vram while m5000m and 980m have 8gb or 4
  23. steam seems to be even more broken now, it wont start at all with 05142021 the 6th oct. 2020 build works at least partially but games want newer versions to be able to run an example is ets2 where the steam version wont start because steam is outdated but the newest cracked version works (obviously i wont provide any links to that)
