  1. Yeah lol. Btw, have you ever used Vista?
  2. I was foolish enough to believe in what some guy on Quora said, sorry for my mistakes. Now, let's stop discussing on stuff that's off topic.
  3. You misunderstand me. I was NOT saying that 3,5,6,12 etc. GB of RAM is always dangerous. I was just saying that it can be a little risky, and that little risk could intensify sometimes (although that is rare).
  4. Here's proof from Quora: The dual channel that couldn’t be tale Once upon a time, a 4gb DIMM and an 8GB DIMM walk together into mother-bar, to drink a bit and grab a byte. The 4gb DIMM carelessly drops his square-root beer into the 8er’s PCB. It was an accident; the 4 apologized profusely and mani-fold but it wasn’t enough: 8 went mad and started a fight. High electrical currents he threw to his mate, but the 4 answered even worse: he overclocked the 8 till he could remember no more, then cut his refresh cycles and spilled ionized water in him - the 8 was no more. So, 8 was bad because of how he reacted, but 4 was even worse because he didn’t stop until 8 ended up in a recycling plant: the 12GBs were bad. The End The triple channel tale 3 little but fat 4GB DIMMS went to a museum. The plan was liked so much by them all, that they went static: they needed to refresh as always, but transfers were so fast thanks to the band being so wide, it was so good to see that it was almost a caché. They played along in unison, and churned TTL flavored snacks ever after. They were good together. The end
  5. @windowsvistadude512 Because 5 is not a multiple of 4, and that laptop has only 2 ram channels. Equal amounts of memory should be fitted in both ram channels for best performance and ensuring that your PC isn't screwed up.
  6. I agree with you 100% that Windows 7 was worse than Vista in some respects, but I liked it, only lesser than Vista. Now that's just my opinion. Let's not pick up a fight
  7. Yes, exactly. Also, Windows 7 sounds were just Vista copies (it annoys me, but that's just my opinion).
  8. Yes exactly, but the default theme with no window transparency is not great (but I know this can easily corrected) .
  9. Same here, I would say Vista and 8.x are the best and then 7 and 2000. I did not like Xp as much as 7 as it had BIG, chiclet-style window buttons and a boring default theme.
  10. Exactly. People thought Windows 7 was holy just because it got released after Vista which was very underrated.
  11. IMHO, Windows 7 looked a bit less beautiful than Vista with its fat minimize, maximize and close buttons whereas Vista looked proper with smaller, thinner ones. Also, Win7 performed slower than Vista (or even 8.x) on exact same hardware and I'm sure many other Vista users on this forum have felt that way. But no denying that Win7 was one of the best versions of Windows.
  12. 5 GB RAM? I recommend using 4 GB RAM and 8 if you need it
  13. That's a good development! Kudos to you for your effort!
  14. IBM ThinkPad t60/t61 owners, hello! Share your experience with the t60/t61/any similar laptop such as an r60/r61 or even a Frankenpad (t60+t61) if you have ever owned one and share what you have done to make it usable even now and a system properties screenshot (if you still use it of course). Just for reference: I myself don't have a t60/t61 and have never had one but I have seen a plethora of YouTube videos on how these laptops are great and still usable now.
  15. I would give this ten upvotes, what a great description of how horrible Windows 10 is!
  16. And that's what's annoying. Modern upgradable laptops are EXTREMELY EXPEN$IVE! They cost a fortune!
  17. I got my Dell latitude only for the following reasons: It is upgradeable to upto 16 GB RAM and i7 quad core variants ( Of course you can toss in an SSD) but I went with the stock i5 2520m and 8 GB RAM as that's enough for me. I use it for schoolwork, virtualisation, light photo and audio editing etc. and it does the job very fast! In addition, I needed a laptop with windows Vista support so I went for this.
  18. Yes I see... If the Quadro performs better overall while running cooler, that idea of replacing the gpu is awesome! I just wish modern laptops would also have a GPU replacement option and be upgradeable.
  19. Will you use it for heavy gaming, photo and video editing (if you do it )?
  20. Also, why non optimus? Won't it be useful sometimes?
  21. That's a very powerful machine! Btw, has it been delivered?
  22. My main PC (Dell Latitude) is the only PC with SSD storage, but I am planning to upgrade the other PC's in the house to SSD's too. Also, @asdf2345, what are your previous laptop's specs?

  24. I installed .NET FW 4.0 and 4.5.2 and the game can install completely. But when launching the game, a kernel32.dll error pops up which however does not prevent the running of the game. You can press OK, ignore the error and game on!
