@Dixel - I must have a before and after screencap demonstrating that these actually DO anything. It's really not too much to ask to spend the tiny amount of time to do a screencap - I am clearly putting HOURS/DAYS into this project, a screencap is really not too much to ask in return. I have never witnessed any of them DOING anything and their "presence" in resources.dll is MEANINGLESS unless actually USED. I would like to remind you, it is not my goal to compile "Iron Redux" (an SRWare Iron version based on Chrome 86). I am a programmer (but in different programming language). It is extremely common for "subroutines" to be "present" but NEVER CALLED. The "presence" of items can ALWAYS be "found" (shadows of old routines, portions of future routines not yet used) - you need to demonstrate that they actually DO something. Again, I'm not compiling "Iron Redux" - I kindly request to please honor and respect that distinction.

You can try this - with 360Chrome closed, edit the 360Loader.ini file so that the [RunAfter] section contains only the following, save the new .ini, then launch 360Chrome with the new .ini -- DirRemove=%Profile%\safemon|e DirRemove=%Profile%\Webstore Downloads|e DirRemove=%Profile%\BrowserMetrics* DirRemove=%Profile%\ShaderCache FileDelete=%Profile%\*-journal*;chrome_shutdown_ms*;switch_core*;*.log FileDelete=%Profile%\Default\*.tmp;*-journal;log;log.old;*.log FileDelete=.\Chrome\Application\*.log DirRemove=%Profile%\Default\Cache DirRemove=%Profile%\Default\Code Cache DirRemove=%Profile%\Default\GPUCache DirRemove=%Profile%\Default\Media Cache DirRemove=%Profile%\Default\Pepper Data DirRemove=%Profile%\Default\DailyBackup

The way I see it is that there is a HUGE difference between modifying 360Chrome for general use and creating something that we should probably call "Iron Redux" (SRWare Iron 2.0 ?). Rewriting chrome.dll for some minor tweaks is one thing, rewriting it where it drops from its original file size of 113 MB or so all the way down to 40 MB because of how much we "took out" is for whoever wants to come along and create "Iron Redux"

I haven't looked at 1106 yet, that may be an option once I revisit 1006/1106. There's several "opt-in" 'features' that I chose not to "break" in case some people actually want them (their choice). The search engine fall-back is one, the use a prediction service is another, the protect you and your devices is another, the smart prereading is another, the web service for navigation errors is another, the "do not track" scam is another, the automatic translation is another. I didn't jump through any hoops to remove all of them from chrome.dll, the end-user can still "opt-in" if that is their preference. The built-in Adfilter is yet another - no way would I trust it but if users want to "opt-in", they still can.
-
Those are the "fallback" search engines that are only used if your default is unavailable. You can OPT-OUT of the "fallback" search engine by UNCHECKING the option for it in Settings - Basic -> Search section -->> second entry with the drop-down to the right. If you opt-in versus opt-out, then I suggest revisiting Settings - Basic. Other than that, it is never used as long as you don't CHECK that checkbox.

ps - I plan on doing a rebuild for beta 1006 at some point in time, but for now I'm focusing on build 2206 [my initial run on 1006 had a TON of telemetry connections and it checks for an updated file (icudtl.dat ?) on every run]... 1006 will require a larger set of HOSTS file entries but I would prefer no telemetry connections out-of-the-box, without users needing to modify their HOSTS file...
