  1. CDex here for me, very easy to rip to MP3, as well as easily being able to reconvert MP3's if say you wanted them at lower bit rates, the CDDB is very good, and when set to retrieve results as soon as you insert a CD, it certainly makes ripping a quick and easy process
  2. Holy s*** GT4 has an actual 24 hour race?!??! Whoooooooooooo!!!! You've just brought back memories of when I actually took on the 24 hour race on Le Mans 24 for the playstation! God that was ALOT of coffee....
  3. Nah, don't worry about the driving tests, the majority of them are fairly easy to get a bronze award, but for those hardcore few who demand that they get the best unlockable cars, you've GOT to go for the golds. And that my friend, is where people get p***ed off... I was playing through the A-Liscence on GT2 yesterday, and I swear down, you lot could've come over, got some popcorn and watch me get so p***ed off it'd be the funniest thing you ever saw. Bronzes, I don't think you'll have too much trouble with, if you're feeling good go for the silvers, but don't bother with those golds unless you're : A: In REAL need of some sweet sweet cars... Otherwise just buy em. B: Mad C: One hell of a persistent bugger D: All of the above!
  4. 2MB Down, 256kb up The download is awesome, 220kb/s who can complain about that lol, especially considering my ISP just upgraded all their 512k customers to it for free. However with that there is a 15gb monthly limit!
  5. Simonsays, gamecubes? Expensive?! Lol, I don't know how it is in Spain but in England you can buy a brand new Cube and brand new games in a package with it, for as little as £40! It sucks that the Cube is dying, but I think it's gonna go the same way as the 64, by that I mean this: You might not care about it now, but once it's dead you'll appreciate it ALOT more for how great it really was
  6. I tried GT4, but for me the GT series has lost it since 3, first of all they simply don't feel as fast as the original 2, and they've took the challenge aspect of it way too far with this one, it might sound stupid but some parts really are that difficult it takes the fun away, im talking mainly about the liscence tests here lol. So what did I do, I picked up GT2 on the cheap the other day, came home, got my PS emulator launched and I am now back in racing bliss! I'm currently trying to get all golds on the A-Liscence test so that I get a Dodge Viper Concept Car. For now though, admire my S2000 that I won for getting the B liscence on all golds
  7. I think he meant for the X-Box You have a PS2 as well? You do know Resi 4 is being ported over to the PS2, but one thing that makes me giggle is the fact that Capcom are having to completely downgrade the quality of the textures and graphics in general just so that the PS2 can RUN it! Makes ya realise that we are approaching the final years of the current consoles!
  8. Err.... I'm confused now Which game or expansion are we talking about and if it is a free and legal download, please link to it, that link in your first post goes straight to ET.
  9. Lol, awesome I got .dll, would've posted the image but I borked it up lol
  10. This isnt the actual RTCW! Enemy Territory is a standalone game based on RTCW. The developers of it originally intended for it to be a multiplayer mod for RTCW, but in the end released it as a free game for everyone. The only real links it has to RTCW is that they share the same engine, thats pretty much it. Don't worry you still gotta pay to play RTCW itself lol
  11. I'm keen to try out the PUPPY live cd that has just been released. I don't know much about it, although from what I've heard it's the first Linux Live CD that is used from a multi session CD, meaning that any settings you do tweak while playing with it, can actually be saved back to the CD you were using Linux from in the first place
  12. Definitely 7Zip, it uses an almost identical interface to WinRAR, is completely free, and in some cases with its own format: 7z, has even better compression than that of RAR. http://www.7-zip.org/
  13. I suppose I could try AA again sometime, I do use omega drivers now, plus with a nicely stripped XP, more RAM, and better experience with tweaking games it probably will work ok. Anyway, you want good first person shooters? Download Enemy Territory which in itself is a frigging awesome game, BUT, download a mod for it called True Combat Elite, its a mod for it based very heavily on Counter Strike, but this has one distinct difference over CS: It's good! It's still in an alpha stage (Just entering beta testing afaik), but the game is showing so much potential and I do believe this game will shut up all those CS players when a final hits the scene. This is Terrorism vs Counter Terrorism. Teamwork is essential! With a heavy focus on realism, there are no health monitors, no CROSSHAIRS! You have to aim down the sights of your weapons whenever you want to make an accurate shot. Physics are a pretty good sim of life, or as far as you can go in a game world. The weapons and their acting in the game are very good. Ugh, what am I saying, put simply: This is fantastic! Download it at http://www.truecombat.com/intro.php Also, check out some screenies I've taken of the game
  14. I don't know what your idea of playable is then. It was HORRIBLE lol!
  15. I don't know what relevance the thread title has, but I'm a massive fan of RTCW Enemy Territory and it is simply a fantastic game to play online! Lylo's seal of approval!
  16. Oops, I said 12mb? lol Sorry I meant 128! The reason it wouldnt work for me is easily the Celeron processor, thats whats letting my PC down at the moment (I'm trying to get it up to at least a 2GHZ P4). You've got a good quality athlon and that will add some pushing power to your games, you can have all the ram in the world and a good gfx card but without a quality processor (like mine ISNT), youre not gonna get anywhere im afraid. Its only recently after upgrading my RAM to 768 that I'm now entering a stage where upgrading the RAM or video card simply wont cut it. The processor is holding me back so much! Despite how s***ty my comp is (What do you expect its a 2 year old E-machines ffs lol), I do feel it still has a bit of power to be unleashed once I get a better cpu in there.
  17. If I couldnt get AA working on a 1.8ghz with 512mb ram and a 128mb video card it certainly wouldnt look good for you im afraid...
  18. Surely thats when nLite comes in again lol
  19. Just wanna bump this, please can anyone help lol?
  20. I've recently finished installing my latest nLited + UA XP CD, and one of the first things I've done is to restore all of the MP3's I have backed up. However, when I go into my music folders to play anything, if I hit the 'Play All' or 'Play Selection' button in the music tasks, Windows gives a pop up asking me where I'd like to copy whichever files are in the folder I choose to play. I can press cancel and then Windows Media Player pops up as normally and plays the music. What could have I done to make this pop up occur and even better, how can I stop it from doing so? Wub Lylo
  21. I can officially confirm you get what you pay for with this programme: Nothing. The only things I noticed it do were disable some of the settings within Windows Explorer, which hardly accomodates for 'Maximum Gaming Performance'. Sure it may have disabled certain background services, but I think a good number of people on the MSFN forums would do that themselves anyway with the aid of nLite. I tested it with Quake 3, Enemy Territory and RTCW, Quake 3 engine based games I've found make perfect benchmark tools where gaming is concerned. Not one bit of difference was made, to game speed, loading times, anything. I'd be keen for other people to try this out and post their results but this didn't do a **** thing for me. Mind you, I didn't really expect it to either.
  22. Why don't I like the looks of it :S I'm all for gaining performance for my games but can it really be done by a small proggie? Can anyone here confirm what it says?
  23. I remember having to choose from a FX5200 or an ATI of some sort (it may have been the one you mentioned im not sure), the FX was a 128mb, while the ATI was a 256mb, although in the end I took the FX for the sake of the DX9 support. I dont know if that should be a major influence for you when buying the card but alot of games are demanding more and more DX9 exclusive features.
  24. For once EA are doing something decent! I'll have everything on there except the EA games pack I'll let some poor sucker take those...
  25. Oh I know that and I completely love em don't get me wrong lol. But rest assured that thing WAS useless. The night I got it out, I must have spent hours fiddling about with it (I'm pretty good with fixing s*** if I do say so myself heh) and the thing just wasn't gonna boot up. Plus college is killing me at the moment so I could've done with a bit of fun lol, you wouldn't have done the same?
