Ahh.... you mean the controllers which I cut the wires off to keep them as decorative items for my bedroom?

We've all been stressed before right? We've all had such f***ing bad days that in the end, all you want to do is blow stuff up right? Well, following some rather nasty weeks at college as far as heavy work loads go, I decided to get my old NES out last night for some 8-bit bliss. Unfortunately, the bugger didn't work, it seems that time hasn't done so well for the old boy. So, what did I do? I destroyed it! These are just a handful of the pics, I ended up taking so many as I ripped another bit out here and there
-
They obviously didn't do everything because I have that 100% save file still on my memory card
-
Well then you're a bit screwed once youv'e had a night out at the pub and everyone wants to go over to somebodie's place for a multiplay game session It's not like you can easily set up a LAN for a bunch of mates to play on
-
Ahh so its GB its certainly alot better than 10MB Well thats more than enough for you to get the game and play it, all you gotta do now is worry about the 9.7 or so GB you're gonna have left!
-
Chances are if you just hold out that little bit after its release Sony are bound to release a demo of it with the official PS2 magazine... Although I've loved the GT games, I still would rather wait to get a free try of the new one rather than shell out full price for it lol. I'm a little worried with this one that there's gonna be nothing new and that its 'just another sequel'. From what I've heard about those who've imported though its meant to be pretty sweet

Those are fair points indeed un4given1, but think about those who may not share such an interest in gaming or computing as say you, I, or anyone else in this forum. What if that person goes and buys a game which by fact, is absolute crap, say by looking at the front cover and thinking 'Oooh, that looks good' and he pays full price for it. Thats certainly not gonna keep him or anyone else entertained for that long. The same with movies, or music, anyone can fall into a trap of buying into something that they've been 'made' to believe is worth buying into. And then after it, they feel robbed. There certainly are alot of things that definitely would not be worth buying to some people out there, but they could easily go and buy it anyway if advertising has anything to do with it.
-
I certainly didn't mean to say I don't appreciate the effort people go to when developing software, but some people can afford to buy alot of this or to donate, while others cant. Chances are though, that no matter which of these two groups a person falls into, sooner or later, a certain piece of software WILL be essential to them.
-
What you have there is the requirements for the game if ran from the CD it seems, if youre talking about the actual Rockstar download though then I'd bump that 65mb up to at least 300. The installer itself is over 200 lol.
-
Its a harsh topic but one that has gotta be confronted in some way. Yes, I will admit I do have a significant amount of pirated software installed on my computer, and it is essential for me. I'm a 17 year old student with no form of income and so torrent sites can be essential to me, and I'm sure to tonnes of other people. Games, I download, only to try out, I am a keen gamer, and I will happily save up what little I can week by week and eventually go out and buy it, knowing that I can take full advantage of it. Music is pretty similar, I will download music, but if I find something I truly love, then I'll go out and buy it. Like said before in here, its a kind of nessecary evil. :/

10MB Hard Space?! :S Well GTA2 is very enjoyable, its basically a huge improvement over the original GTA, with the same birds eye view, only the improvements in this are immense. With much better game performance and visuals over the original thats a good start lol. But the gameplay itself is brilliant, instead of just going to a phone now to get a job, GTA2 was the one that introduced the gangs into the whole scene. Take the first level, you have the Zaibatsu corporation, a huge pharmaceutical (hope I spelt that right lol) company that could run the city if it wanted to. You have the Loonies, a bunch of absolute pyschos (Who in my opinion are the most fun to work with lol), and you have the Yakuza who simply put, mean business! Each gang hates one another, the Zaibatsu hate Loonies, Loonies hate Yakuza and Yakuza hate Zaibatsu, now this is where one of the games more important features comes in: Respect. To get work from a gang, you need to have a certain amount of respect from that gang in order to work for them. 3 meters in the top of the screen show each gang's respect for you, and you gain (and lose) respect for each of the gangs usually by murdering members their rivals. Wanna work for the Loonies? Go on a Yakuza rampage! Theres tonnes of minigames in this one usually found in bonus missions where its just a crazy task (such as destroying so many ice cream vans or taxis etc) The weapons on this one are brilliant, a huge selection to choose from, for you to just cause hell with. It was the first GTA to introduce 'proper' radio stations as well, with their own hosts, own music etc, and the majority of them, are absolutely hilarious to listen to. Despite the 18 age certificate, GTA2's main aim is simply to have fun, and it suceeds in so many areas. Download it, you really wont regret it, and indianarchie, I hope you mean 10GB, in which case GTA2 will run fine on your system I imagine Hope this is of some help to you all!

I aint a huge fan of the XBox either but jeez that arguement is WAY too biased to be worth considering!
-
But isnt having your PS2 modded in itself illegal now? I know Sony are trying to get the laws changed so that even owning or selling the modchips are illegal, and if I remember right, in some countries they have succeeded.

Cube all the way here lol but hey, fanboys will be fanboys!

Bah, Counterstrike sucks! YEAH THATS RIGHT I SAID IT If you want an excellent counter terrorism game with that dash of realism thrown in, download Enemy Territory or make sure you already have it, and then download a mod called True Combat: Elite. Its alot like Counterstrike only A: This is actually fun. B: The game's community ISN'T a bunch of in bred as****** who only know how to call people noob's

Hmm, I've been wondering, is it possible to do a one time only login with a normal acount. If theres one thing I'd like on my unattended setup, its that it would automatically log me in (not Administrator), just once so that the setup could finish off in running my batch file installations. I know I can make it so that Windows logs me in automatically on every boot but I'd only like this to happen once. Does anyone know if this is possible and how it would be done?

My User Account Is Not Being Created!
lylo replied to lylo's topic in Unattended Windows 2000/XP/2003
Well I can confirm that its removing the 'net.exe' thats included within the Command Line tools that did cause all of the trouble. I have just finished installing and everything went perfectly! I'm going to post this up in the nLite forums as well, I could see this being handy lol. -

lylo replied to lylo's topic in Unattended Windows 2000/XP/2003
I AM A MORON. I think I know why it hasn't been working, and it is nLite related. I removed under the 'experimental' heading, the command lines, little realising that included within those commands is the command 'net.exe'. I decided to keep that command in this time, and I am now having my ISO recreated, I am VERY confident this is why it hasn't been working. Thank you everyone for all of your help but in the end it turns out it was just a bit of a bubu on my behalf! -

I appreciate your help in suggesting that but I must say I have no idea how I would do that. I thought the installation process was made to look for a cmndlines.txt on T-12 (or around that time). -

Ok alanoll, thanks first of all for the suggestion of A: The PAUSE line, and B: The save function in VMWARE (Completely forgot about that haha!). Anyway, it seems there is an error somewhere, or at least this screenshot clearly indicates lol... It still has me lost though EDIT: Ooops, the screenshot isnt coming up lol, anyway, when it executes, at the end of every line of the useraccounts.cmd, I get the error "net is not recognised as an internal or external command, operable programme or batch file." Hmm... I'm just wondering if maybe a certain component I've removed in nLite is to blame, is the 'net' command related to anything that nLite can remove? EDIT: Ooops x2 lol, got the screenie up this time, it wasnt saving as a jpg lol, my bad! -
My User Account Is Not Being Created!
lylo replied to lylo's topic in Unattended Windows 2000/XP/2003
My computer name is... Lye-PC (That is what I have in my winnt.sif) And administrator is spelt just like that lol Whats weird (And I forgot to mention this in my first post), is that the info given in those 3 files is exactly the same as whats given in the first UA cd I created, which works with no problems. However, with this new disc (And ones before it), where I have either stripped it a bit more with nLite or thrown new programmes into it, it doesnt work. Sorry for the late info but if that helps let me know. -
My User Account Is Not Being Created!
lylo replied to lylo's topic in Unattended Windows 2000/XP/2003
No, and thats precisely the problem, I'm almost positive that everything I have in those 3 files is correct. I even see the command prompt quickly flash up during the installation process (T12 or T11 isnt it?) so I'm sure it's doing it's job. However, after the installation is finished, it will not log me onto the account, 'Marc', and I have the logon screen showing the administrator account waiting for the password. If I try ctrl-alt-del'ing to the classic logon screen to type in the username as well, that also doesn't work. -
Hiya everyone, Lately, everytime I've tried a new UA cd with improvements over my last everything has gone fine except for the fact that when I hit the logon screen after the installation, it waits for me to give the administrator password. The thing is however, I have my cmdlines.txt, useraccounts.cmd, and autologon.reg all made and ready in the OEM folders to create the user account Marc (with admin rights of course), with the password I want. Even during the installation process, I can notice the command box come up for that quick second doing what its supposed to be doing. But everytime I've tried, its always failed at logging me on to my account. Even when typing the account details manually at the login screen that fails, so the account must not be getting made. Heres what I have, I'm sure this is correct (Don't worry the password shown in here is not what I actually use lol. cmdlines.txt [COMMANDS] "useraccounts.cmd" useraccounts.cmd net user Marc password /add net localgroup Administrators Marc /add net accounts /maxpwage:unlimited REGEDIT /S autologon.reg EXIT autologon.reg Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon] "DefaultUserName"="Marc" "DefaultPassword"="password" "AutoAdminLogon"="1" This is copied from the site and I've gone over it time and time again and I can't see what is wrong here. Any ideas?

UT2004 (If I remember right, there are even Linux installers on both the CD and DVD editions) Call of Duty (I think Linux files can be found to play these if you have the original game of course) Counter Strike (Or any of the HL games for that matter), I know you can't run on Linux, only servers, although I don't know how these will play with the Windows emulators (If they can!) I don't know whether Q3 engine based games interest you, but theres alot of them that work fine for Linux (Enemy Territory anyone? ), and if I remember correctly, weren't some popular games on Windows actually released for free on Linux? I'm sure I remember being told that you can get Quake 3 itself for free on Linux. Can anyone shed light on this?

That post by xper was exactly the kind of response I had in mind when i mentioned a positive or negative response Thats completely fair though and I accept that with no trouble whatsoever
