My Browser Builds (Part 3)
grey_rat replied to roytam1's topic in Browsers working on Older NT-Family OSes
Hm.... Radeon 9550 (DirectX9) video card. Serpent, KM and PM write the following errors Compositing Basic GPU Accelerated Windows 0/1 Basic (OMTC) (#0) Assert [D3D9] Failed to create a critical resource (vbo) (#1) Assert [D3D9] Could not Initialize the DeviceManagerD3D9 (#2) Error [D3D9] Failed to init compositor with reason: FEATURE_FAILURE_D3D9_DEVICE_MANAGER This video card works normally OpenGL compositing in K-meleon (layers.prefer-opengl) and OpenGL compositing in Firefox78 on Linux. Why might this and other D3D9 video cards not be initialized? -

roytam1, please remove the limitation 4K texture for hardware acceleration. This can return hardware acceleration for Radeon 9500 - X1250 and Intel GMA900 - 3150 graphics cards https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=637089 And add opengl32.dll file for SSE2 + , that it would be possible to enable software WebGL on computers with a bad video card https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1193695 https://download.qt.io/development_releases/prebuilt/llvmpipe/windows/ (25-Sep-2014) and rename opengl32sw.dll -

There are several versions WebGL for XP. Browser versions of WebGL can be updated. If roytam1 updated versions of WebGL in his browsers to the latest, native WebGL may not work on old video cards. "ANGLE" (DirectX 9.0c + OpenGL ES 2.0) - GF6100+ , ATI x1300+ , GMA x3000. "Native" (OpenGL ES 2.0) webgl.disable-angle - true - FX5100+ , Radeon 9500+ "WebGL2 native" (OpenGL 3.0)- webgl.disable-angle - true - GF210+ , (ATI HD2400+ ?, Intel HD 2000+ ?) roytam1, in KM-Goanna and NewMoon 27 there are two errors. layers.offmainthreadcomposition.async-animations - false (Firefox 41 - true) https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/Performance/CSS_JavaScript_animation_performance KM-Goanna and NewMoon 27 - does not automatically turn on Direct3D9 acceleration. Must be enabled layers.prefer-d3d9 - true Computers on which these browsers are installed very rarely have DirectX10+ video cards. And they are usually installed on Windows XP. There's no reason to keep the layers.prefer-d3d9 option off. -
