don't know why but I have noticed that downloading files through PM28 is much more faster than with FF52 from the same sources. wish I had found out this trick longs months ago ! -

this trick won't work on MP28. it's not possible to toggle the value. why don't you set it to true by default ? -

the Basilisk browser does not have such a bug. I have just checked media.ffvpx.enabled and it's in true mode the PM in false mode comes up with this message ''We cannot play the video in this browser. Please try a different web browser'' I won't download anything. there must be a way to get it to work by default. -

I don't know why but PM runs faster and smooth in comparison to FF52 on websites in which you have to skip annoying ads and google captchas I have Basilisk installed on my W7 testing computer and it runs smooth as butter. https://www.trishtech.com/2018/09/basilisk-firefox-based-browser-with-legacy-features/ -

even if your browser is up to date the hackers do have more ways to infect your computer or stole your passwords. I myself don't run any anti virus, when I feel something goes bad or the PC is getting slow I do an anti-malware cheking to detele unwanted ''bugs'' -

it's not my case. the PM27 is equal to PM28, although Basilisk is even worse and as bad as FF52 if you want to feel the difference when scroling FB TL down give a try to Vivaldi, Slimjet, Maxthon and UC browser. the difference is like day and night -

Mozilla lost over 50 million users over the last 16 months. given that FF52 support is gone they will keep losing more users. I don't know why they are so retardeds and don't support XP community (thousands of computers on earth) in order to survive. https://blog.mozilla.org/blog/2018/08/28/lets-be-transparent/ -

thanks for sharing. what a shame ! the Palemoon is slighty better on Facebook when scrolling down all the time. unfortunately it's not compatible with FF2 skin. (theme) the one I have been using with Firefox for long time now. https://addons.mozilla.org/EN-US/firefox/addon/firefox-2-theme-for-firefox-3x/versions/ I tried other skins with no luck :( https://addons.mozilla.org/es/firefox/complete-themes/?sort=updated -

thanks for your input but there's too much info there for a dummy like me. it is just not the ublock, I cannot install any addon in the Basilisk 55 there have been several releases (fixed bugs) over the last month on the 52 although I don't feel it as fast as the genuine Firefox on Windows 7 the big question: will there be either a Basilisk or PM version with quantum engine for XP ? -

the Basilisk is always pushing the CPU too hard 30%-50% (lot of noise) while the Firefox is complete smooth on the same websites. Facebook needs a powerful browser but Basilisk is complete crap and slow compared to Firefox, Maxthon, Chrome or Vivaldi. (all them unsupported and old versions of course) the only real advantage to me is that it plays website streaming videos, twitter vines... that Firefox no longer supports. not sure why the Basilisk 55 has not been update over the past month but it appears to be slighty faster, although I'm unable to iinstall a single addon not even the UBLOCK to kill all stupid adds. just my opinion sorry for the rant -

what is the real advantage of the basilski 52 over the original Firefox ? -
XP 64 is absolutely garbage. I get a BSOD very often when it doesn't support installed software I don't even have the time to read the BSOD error number because the computer does reboot quickly without any delay. during the restart I can feel like hard drive spinning is going up as if it were off (XP 32 has never had this issue and I rarely got a BSOD) I'm glad to know that XP is still surviving but the real problem comes from the internet browsers Chrome latest version is no longer supporting XP and some sites cannot be seen while Firefox can load all them with no problem. hopefully these browsers don't become unusable like IE.6 othwerise we will have to switch over and leave XP

Because all tyipes of XP and 2003 can read/write external USB MBR drives over 2.2 TB since the drives present themselves to the USB stack as being MBR with 4 kiB sectors. I wasn't thinking about GPT at all, up to this point... If I had, I'd mentioned GPT support was sort of added to the x64 versions, but I consider it unreliable. Mathwhiz's thoughts followed the same avenue as mine had, as you can see by his own reply. Yet I meant no disrespect to you, I just wanted to help. It turns out you were perhaps too much terse, since you failed to mention you wanted to use GPT in a context GPT is not at all obvious. But I guess now all that has been clarified. Sorry. I really didn't mean to confuse you.
