  1. MV3 timeline appears to be postponed: https://developer.chrome.com/docs/extensions/mv3/mv2-sunset/
  2. In addition to what Astroskypper said I add that active websocket is almost indispensable in some situations such as online games, chat, online trading...... Usually one should not worry about websockets because modern browsers do not allow connection to an unsecured server from a protected source. Try checking in the first test for an insecure connection (ws). If it is not allowed you should not worry about websocket: Test: https://www.piesocket.com/websocket-tester Test1: https://www.deviceinfo.me/ It is easier to use a rule in the adblocker if you want to block websocket: ||*$websocket in this way it is possible to insert exceptions.
  3. Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Policies\Google\Chrome] "DnsOverHttpsMode"="secure" "DnsOverHttpsTemplates"="https://dns.adguard.com/dns-query" I use these registry rules in Edge. I changed the path. Verify that they are working. Of course change the DNS over HTTPS to whatever you like. P.S. I deleted my DNS (NEXT DNS) for obvious reasons.
  4. This is not correct. It depends on the Standard or Administrator account used Policies entered with HKCU also generate a "managed by organization" message. Example in Edge in my Standard account: I would advise all MSFN members who will be using Chrome in Widows 7 after support ends to strengthen browser policies: chrome://policy Example of policies that I put in my Edge:
  5. @NotHereToPlayGames Is it possible in the browser to set a custom DNS over HTTPS? If it is possible I would have a simple suggestion to eliminate/decrease some of the fears of unwanted connections.
  6. Thank you for your confirmation. Another user wrote me that the registry rule didn't work for him.
  7. It works in Chrome, but doesn't seem to work in Edge.
  8. Although it will not be of interest to any forum member while waiting for the resolution of the 2 open issues that I am most interested in I have finished setting up AdGuard Mv3. With my rules now I can pass this test : https://apps.armin.dev/ping-spotter/ I set up Hard Mode as in UBO but made easier by TLD's: https://github.com/gorhill/uBlock/wiki/Blocking-mode:-hard-mode I have improved privacy/security and web pages load much faster. I inserted 2 custom lists to improve privacy/security: It is possible to simultaneously enable UBO Lite to block the URL's tracking parameter. In this case with only one filter enabled: AdGuard URL Tracking Protection List
  9. Keep me informed. Since you read my old thread,I remember that I had run into a problem with Oauth2 authentication if it was done with IE8 (which of course should definitely not be the default browser).
  10. Unfortunately, I no longer have a way to use Windows XP to be able to help you. https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/pop-imap-and-smtp-settings-8361e398-8af4-4e97-b147-6c6c4ac95353
  11. https://developer.chrome.com/blog/more-mv2-transition/ https://groups.google.com/a/chromium.org/g/chromium-extensions/c/zQ77HkGmK9E
  12. Credit is due to mrpink. I just checked the applicability in Edge. https://admx.help/?Category=Chrome&Policy=Google.Policies.Chrome::SuppressUnsupportedOSWarning Then you can use this registry rule for each Chromium-based browser.
  13. Can you try for me if this registry rule (used by mrpink) hides the warning? Chrome: Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Google\Chrome] "SuppressUnsupportedOSWarning"=dword:00000001 Path to Edge: [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Edge]
  14. It is also possible to install in Windows 7,Sandboxie Plus and make up for the lack of an internal browser sandbox: https://sandboxie-plus.com/
  15. Even at my age, I will never get used to reading, with resignation, sad news like this. Life at a certain age stops giving and starts taking. When I read news like this I always remember a movie where, after a funeral, the pastor consoles the remaining relatives with the usual phrase: "He has gone to a better place." A response: "I don't think father that the earth is better place than the air." I hope our souls will be released from the body to truly go to a better place. R.I.P.
  16. Hi, For a precise answer I would need to know what interests you about these various topics. I personally do not think it is necessary to change browsers (switch to Brave) if you are not already using this browser. Neither is spending money with AdGuard Desktop.
  17. ESR support is likely to end in August 2023 with Firefox 102.15: https://wiki.mozilla.org/Release_Management/Calendar
  18. If you find any websites that don't work properly with Firefox you can report here: https://github.com/webcompat/web-bugs/issues I thank you for your response.
  19. Hi to all. What would be the advantage of using unupdated Chrome over Firefox?
  20. I, on the other hand if I were you all, would start installing Firefox 102 ESR. An elementary setting in about:config + settings is enough to have some additional privacy/security. As a security/privacy extension it only needs UBlock Origin or AdGuard extension. These 2 extensions with Firefox will also not be affected by MV3. MSFN members using Chromium-based browsers (except Brave) will sooner or later have to use UBO Lite/AdGuard MV3. To those who have a need I can give some advice.
  21. This is also correct. I only have 2 browsers installed in the pc. Firefox doesn't need all the accommodations I take in Edge for the privacy aspect. Firefox on the test "appears" faster than Edge which moreover should be limited in speed for the JIT aspect. But Edge resolves web pages faster than Firefox. And this despite the fact that in Firefox I adopt significantly fewer rules in UBO than in Edge.
  22. Unfortunately, it is not possible to track which of my modifications can do this "magic". All of the changes in settings I've made to Edge relate to privacy/security,but honestly that's too many settings I should check. 21 flags......various Command-Line,Appcontainer,Sandbox......honestly impossible in an acceptable time to come to an exact conclusion.
  23. Not even the starship Enterprise pc in Star Trek would have done better !!! Evidently the test can be "tricked" by browser settings. My hardware is modest,I really don't think I have a stellar pc.
