  1. For me, everything works fine after installing. By the way, KB4020535 is a recommended update (msado15.dll) so it can be installed manually or via Windows Update. I myself am not connected with Marconi but in the past... there were some indirect contacts. ;-)

  3. Did You try installing this package? As far as I remember it should be installed prior video driver and motherboard on VIA chipset will not work without it...
  4. Maybe this will work?
  5. I am sorry but how Time Zone update can be related to Сertificates?
  6. I would recommend You switching to 32-bit Firefox 52.1.0ESR (current version) and then using instructions from beginning message of this topic. APCDM will work in this case. And Palemoon can be considered as 'secondary' product towards 'primary' Firefox, therefore, using Firefox is preferable.
  7. File associations are corrupted in Your system (exe file in this particular case). It seems that Your system was infected by some virus. You should restore these associations (probably You need ERD Commander CD/erdregedit or other similar tools because regedit won't work on Your system for the same reason). And Windows Update has nothing to do with this problem...
  8. SD73, looks like You're facing problems with Your antivirus software. Try disabling it (or even better uninstall it completely) then make sure You still have POSReady tweak in Your system. And finally try installing updates manually from my list. Do not restart until You install all the updates. After last update, restart Your system and try Windows Update again
  9. Addition to heinoganda's list (direct links, 12 updates for Windows and 2 updates for Office 2007 compatibility pack): http://download.windowsupdate.com/c/msdownload/update/software/secu/2017/03/windowsxp-kb4014652-x86-embedded-enu_c2702e4f1e63d06a320c139a853fd3a578d5e228.exe http://download.windowsupdate.com/d/msdownload/update/software/secu/2017/03/windowsxp-kb4014793-x86-embedded-enu_a6f74c4cf81114da16cd9c3a74eb9e5308312497.exe http://download.windowsupdate.com/d/msdownload/update/software/secu/2017/03/windowsxp-kb4014794-x86-embedded-enu_ffefa30f0b989917a75cd5474576c6155d17d420.exe http://download.windowsupdate.com/d/msdownload/update/software/secu/2017/03/windowsxp-kb4015067-x86-embedded-enu_d9f434efc29bf7bccfcfd3d0c3cc52b9315ba8f9.exe http://download.windowsupdate.com/d/msdownload/update/software/secu/2017/03/windowsxp-kb4015195-x86-embedded-enu_a1b9b6a46245d5b916a1986b09c8ef81216fae58.exe http://download.windowsupdate.com/c/msdownload/update/software/secu/2017/03/windowsxp-kb4015380-x86-embedded-enu_24924ba7416b525f3ac51f6e59f2124319448edf.exe http://download.windowsupdate.com/c/msdownload/update/software/secu/2017/03/windowsxp-kb4015383-x86-embedded-enu_f2891bd693ccc72eac9aba102aed25687df5a85c.exe http://download.windowsupdate.com/c/msdownload/update/software/updt/2017/04/windowsxp-kb4017018-x86-embedded-enu_400dd260ff59d19cfa343736a8ae8887f349a8c4.exe http://download.windowsupdate.com/c/msdownload/update/software/secu/2017/04/ie8-windowsxp-kb4014661-x86-embedded-enu_bc0a25518470de85be68d547a1df190e923524a1.exe http://download.windowsupdate.com/c/msdownload/update/software/ftpk/2017/04/silverlight_7a811b061f742479d2e25ce5ac1a9908f5745bf1.exe http://download.windowsupdate.com/d/csa/csa/secu/2017/04/NDP20SP2-KB4014580-x86_00BC481A903B582272CAE81E76334295A1209F73.exe http://download.windowsupdate.com/d/csa/csa/secu/2017/04/NDP40-KB4014570-x86_DA912E6659C218306C1850642966AE13AC114051.exe http://download.microsoft.com/download/3/F/1/3F1B4B80-E418-400A-AA32-7E0589D36164/mso2007-kb3141529-fullfile-x86-glb.exe http://download.microsoft.com/download/8/8/D/88D129D8-E020-48A1-9C50-2DAB38C09E68/xlconv2007-kb3191830-fullfile-x86-glb.exe
  10. Sorry, but the main problem in this topic is You themselves... Where is the BSOD screenshot that Tripredacus asked You, d*** it? Your problem can easily be solved by proper drivers (probably AHCI, but maybe something else - we don't know and can't see Your screenshot with a proper reason).
  11. Firefox, obviously, will always be the recommended choice. Especially considering that 1. Internet Explorer 8 is a completely outdated (HTML4 only) browser with outdated SSL technologies. At the same time, it will be supported all the way until April 2019 (for a systems with POSReady tweak, of course). 2. Chrome for XP is slightly outdated (49.0.2623.112) but unsupported browser with known security issues, and with outdated SSL technologies (just like IE8 in this aspect). 3. Firefox (current version 52.0.2 ESR) released a week ago and is still the latest version until April 18. Sadly Firefox 53 and later will not work on Windows XP but Firefox 52.X ESR branch will still be supported until June 2018 (hope that for Windows XP too). And, unlike other browsers, it has its own built-in SSL mechanism with certificates management.
  12. I had this problem on one system (with errors in system log). In my case the problem was solved by a simple reboot of this system.
  13. Proper MPSigStub.exe from mpam-fe.exe revision 1.239.450.0 have a creation date of October 26, 2016. Therefore, I don't recommend using too old versions before this date.
  14. I sent You a link via PM. Sorry but such links are prohibited here so please don't post it.
  15. Microsoft corrupted MPSigStub.exe this time, not mpam-fe.exe entire package. The latest working mpam-fe.exe package with correct MPSigStub.exe is 1.239.450.0 (and earlier revisions, of course). To update definitions You can do the following: 1. Unpack mpam-fe.exe package to some folder (using WinRAR or something). 2. Remove MPSigStub.exe from this folder. 3. Unpack mpam-fe.exe revision 1.239.450.0 (or earlier package) to a different folder. Then copy MPSigStub.exe to the first folder with newer definitions. 4. Run MPSigStub.exe (in the first folder, of course)
  16. In case someone interested I've been using two free antiviruses on different systems with Windows XP SP3: Microsoft Security Essentials 4.4.304.0 on slow machines (Intel Core 2 Duo CPU and earlier) and Kasreprsky Free Antivirus(KFA) 17.0.0.611(d) on faster ones (Core i3 and higher). But sadly Kasreprsky Free Antivirus is only available in several russian-speaking countries (Belarus, Ukraine and Russia). None of these antiviruses interfere Windows Update processes, and does not significantly slow down systems, however, no doubt, Kaspersky is more demanding to system resources and needs disabling several features (like scripts interacting with web pages or HTTPS-connections checking). But many computer security laboratories consider Kaspersky as the best antivirus according to their tests, by the way...
  17. Blurred fonts problem in FF 52.x ESR can be easely solved: type about:config in address bar, press Enter, press "I'll be careful, I promise!" button, search for gfx.content.azure.backends variable and change it from direct2d1.1,skia,cairo to direct2d1.1,cairo (remove skia). Then restart Firefox.
  18. This was an official update for Excel 2003 from the Microsoft website, which a year later has been removed along with most other updates for Windows XP and Office 2003. It's very sad that we can not publish links to official updates... I'm sorry for posting a link.
  19. Another set of links to the latest Adobe Flash Player (25.0.0.127 currently): http://fpdownload.adobe.com/get/flashplayer/distribution/win/install_flash_player_25_active_x.exe http://fpdownload.adobe.com/get/flashplayer/distribution/win/install_flash_player_25_plugin.exe http://fpdownload.adobe.com/get/flashplayer/distribution/win/install_flash_player_25_ppapi.exe
  20. glnz, You need to install the three remaining updates too.
  21. I believe Office 2007 compatibility pack is a culprit of this problems with 100% CPU usage caused by svchost.exe. I own a very old (11-year-old) laptop with 2Gb (2*1Gb DDR2-667MHz) RAM and T7200 Core 2 Duo CPU (2.00 GHz, 4M Cache, 667 MHz FSB codename 'Merom'). I've never had problems with Windows Update (using IE6) on this laptop (2-3 minutes of updates search) with Windows XP SP3 installed on it (IE6 with latest updates until January 2016, I decided to not update browser on it). Nevertheless, I have all latest updates for POSReady on it (including .NET Frameworks 1.1, 2.0, 3.0, 3.5 and 4.0 with latest updates). Perhaps manually installing updates for Office 2007 compatibility pack will solve these problems, I don't know exactly. In any case, the support of Microsoft Office 2007 (including Microsoft Office Compatibility Pack) ends in October 2017 (this year).
  22. Just start Your Excel 2003, go to its menu and choose Help->About. Then look at the first string and verify version of the product. You should have "Microsoft Office Excel 2003 (11.8412.8434) SP3". If the version of Your product is lower, this means that You still need this update (KB2883042).
  23. Let's add the following to dencorso's list (glnz should pay special attention): KB2883042 - Excel 2003 critical update (quite old but still little known and underrated): [redacted] KB3128043 - Office 2003 critical update (mso.dll) KB3178653 - Office 2003 critical update (usp10.dll) KB3178693 - Office 2003 critical update (gdiplus.dll) http://download.microsoft.com/download/4/F/2/4F275EAC-A6F0-4EB0-931A-D2F3C21278A0/office2003-KB3128043-FullFile-ENU.exe http://download.microsoft.com/download/D/8/0/D800DF88-22BE-4418-8200-573AAF299A4E/office2003-KB3178693-FullFile-ENU.exe http://download.microsoft.com/download/A/2/0/A20E0362-FEED-4D71-94F4-717531F2AC94/office2003-KB3178653-FullFile-ENU.exe
  24. Sorry but FF 45.9.0 ESR will not automatically update to the FF 52.1.0 ESR in April. FF 45.9.0 ESR EoL date is June 13,2017 so FF 45.9.0 ESR will be automatically updated to the FF 52.2.0 ESR after June 13 (long wait)... P.S. By the way, in the portable Firefox assemblies the ability to (automatically) update is usually blocked or disabled. You need to download a new portable build instead (45.8.0 ESR or 52.0 ESR are relevant nowadays).
  25. Important note! If You don't have Forefox in Your system (Windows XP SP3 presumably) and You are going to install Firefox 52.x ESR then keep in mind that You should also change media.gmp-manager.url parameter in about:config from "https://aus5.mozilla.org/update/3/GMP/%VERSION%/%BUILD_ID%/%BUILD_TARGET%/%LOCALE%/%CHANNEL%/%OS_VERSION%/%DISTRIBUTION%/%DISTRIBUTION_VERSION%/update.xml" (default value) to "https://aus5.mozilla.org/update/3/GMP/51.0/%BUILD_ID%/%BUILD_TARGET%/%LOCALE%/%CHANNEL%/%OS_VERSION%/%DISTRIBUTION%/%DISTRIBUTION_VERSION%/update.xml" (%VERSION% -> 51.0) Otherwise Adobe Primetime Content Decryption Module will never load into Your Forefox 52.x ESR...
