  1. I am pleased to announce that I have tested the first beta for the next major release of Adobe Flash Player 31. It is tested and working on Windows XP with Internet Explorer 8, Google Chrome 49, and Mozilla Firefox 52.9.0 ESR. It was released on August 8, 2018: http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/flashplayer.html Internet Explorer ActiveX: https://fpdownload.macromedia.com/pub/labs/flashruntimes/flashplayer/install_flash_player_ax.exe Mozilla Firefox NPAPI, and NPAPI for Google Chrome 44 and older: https://fpdownload.macromedia.com/pub/labs/flashruntimes/flashplayer/install_flash_player.exe Google Chrome 45 to 49 PPAPI: https://fpdownload.macromedia.com/pub/labs/flashruntimes/flashplayer/install_flash_player_ppapi.exe Old version uninstaller: https://fpdownload.macromedia.com/pub/labs/flashruntimes/flashplayer/uninstall_flash_player.exe
  2. @Mathwiz @bluebolt If you are experiencing issues with the standard Flash test page (https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/about/), please try the legacy HTTPS site (https://adobe.com/software/flash/about) or the legacy HTTP (not secure) (http://adobe.com/software/flash/about). I use the legacy sites for my older Windows 95/98/2000 systems with Internet Explorer 5.0/Internet Explorer 5.5 and never experience any issues. --> On newer systems the above legacy links will revert/redirect to the standard https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/about/ !
  3. @FranceBB @i430VX Yes, the capacitor issues specifically plagued the GX 270 model. I believe there was even a class-action lawsuit.
  4. I think anti virus software is overrated. I never use it on any of my legacy systems and have never been infected. If anything, I think anti virus software encourages reckless behavior because it gives a false sense of security.
  5. Upon reconsideration with the Pentium 4 info you provided, I think it could be a OptiPlex 745. If you go back, let us know! Your descriptions seems to match Dell's technical specifications: https://www.dell.com/downloads/global/products/optix/en/opti_745techspecs.pdf The example in the photo appears to be the Desktop/Small Form Factor version showon Wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dell_OptiPlex#Series_3_-_BTX[3][4]
  6. Jack That looks like a Dell OptiPlex 760 vintage 2006.
  7. This is not an option for Windows XP. The AOL Desktop Gold installer requires Windows 7 or newer.
  8. Beta channel for Adobe Flash Player was updated to 30.0.0.149 on July 26, and is confirmed working on Windows 2000. https://labs.adobe.com/downloads/flashplayer.html Mozilla Firefox (NPAPI): https://fpdownload.macromedia.com/pub/labs/flashruntimes/flashplayer/install_flash_player.exe Internet Explorer: https://fpdownload.macromedia.com/pub/labs/flashruntimes/flashplayer/install_flash_player_ax.exe Uninstaller: https://fpdownload.macromedia.com/pub/labs/flashruntimes/flashplayer/uninstall_flash_player.exe For best results, I recommend Windows 2000 Service Pack 4, the Windows 2000 Service Pack 4 Security Rollup Package (SRP), the Windows 2000 UURollup, and Internet Explorer 5.5 Service Pack 2. Many sites no longer work or are broken after upgrading to Internet Explorer 6 so I do not recommend it!

  12. Yes, the Flash Player 29 still works but there will be no more updates (29.0.0.171 is the final version).
  13. I wanted to provide an update to my post from last year. It appears that the Flash Player installers are again functioning on XP SP2. Previously, the installers newer than 19.0.0.245 would silently close when attempting to run them. It must be related to SHA1 or SHA2. Adobe's solution last year was to simply update to XP SP3: https://forums.adobe.com/message/9346257#9346257
  14. @dencorso Your point is valid, but only for the time being. Please read on: I have decided to get away from posting direct links to specific versions of Flash Player, because these Adobe links quickly become broken / disabled after the next one or two immediate updates. So I now use the generic links. It is fine to put links for specific versions, but it is important to recognize that people referring to these posts and attempting to download using these links in the future will be unsuccessful. So, our posts with direct links for specific versions well eventually break. For example, the direct links in this post by @Bersaglio no longer work: https://msfn.org/board/topic/174085-newest-adobe-flash-and-shockwave-and-java-too/?do=findComment&comment=1150533 Even the links for the relatively recent 29.0.0.171 release from May 2018 no longer work: http://fpdownload.adobe.com/get/flashplayer/pdc/29.0.0.171/install_flash_player_ppapi.exe http://fpdownload.adobe.com/get/flashplayer/pdc/29.0.0.171/install_flash_player.exe http://fpdownload.adobe.com/get/flashplayer/pdc/29.0.0.171/install_flash_player_ax.exe
  15. @roytam1 This is good information. Additionally, I must point out that Chinese users will not be able to download localized versions of the Flash Player in China, according to a staff moderator on the Adobe Community forum: Offline installer (May 24, 2018) However, users can access the final English version of the Flash Player version 29 (29.0.0.171) you cited, from my FTP here: http://sdfox7.com/xp/sp3/EOL/flash_sse_29.0.0.171/ http://sdfox7.com/xp/sp3/EOL/flash_sse_29.0.0.171/install_flash_player.exe (Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome ≤ 44) http://sdfox7.com/xp/sp3/EOL/flash_sse_29.0.0.171/install_flash_player_ax.exe (Internet Explorer) http://sdfox7.com/xp/sp3/EOL/flash_sse_29.0.0.171/install_flash_player_ppapi.exe (Google Chrome)

  17. CyberFox 52.9.1 has already been pushed out, so I'm expecting Firefox 52.9.1 shortly: https://github.com/InternalError503/cyberfox/compare/4a3b4ad354694086f891c56feae7c98b33d92878...7fd07cc07f1dde53686f2919a880d9951a241fc9?utm_source=release_notes&utm_campaign=cyberfox_release_notes&utm_medium=learn_more&utm_content=web_release_notes
  18. I do consider myself a "Swiftie", and my company helped to promote her "Redemption" album.
  19. Please note that with the release of Adobe Flash Player 30, SSE processors are no longer supported. Adobe Flash Player 29 (29.0.0.171) is the final version for SSE processors. I have moved the final SSE installers here: http://sdfox7.com/2000/Important_EOL_Updates/flash_sse_29.0.0.171/

  21. There are many different sources to get this information, 21.2 million results on Google: https://www.google.com/search?source=hp&ei=b2U2W4uGCrHH5gKpn4OYCw&q=new+motherboards+windows+xp&oq=new+motherboards+windows+xp&gs_l=psy-ab.3..35i39k1j0i22i30k1l3.1266.6254.0.6509.28.24.0.0.0.0.235.2681.1j17j2.20.0....0...1c.1.64.psy-ab..8.20.2675.0..0j0i67k1j0i131k1j0i131i20i264k1j0i10i67k1j0i20i263i264k1j0i20i263k1.0.tpZZ_i3k7ps
  22. I've already been using New Moon on my Windows 2000 and XP machines. As I demonstrated recently, Windows 2000 will run it as long as you have Service Pack 4, the Security Rollup Package (SRP), and UURollup/Kernel Ex:
  23. This is the page I was greeted with after updating to 52.9.0 with Firefox's update mechanism, notice it's a subarticle called "Important": https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/end-support-windows-xp-and-vista?as=u&utm_source=inproduct Notice that the article mentions no further updates after August 2018. Since it is likely there will be other security vulnerabilities discovered in the next two months, I expect to possibly see at least Firefox 52.9.1 and maybe a 52.9.2 release.
  24. We should expect this to be the last version of Firefox 52 ESR, and the final version officially released for Windows XP, as has been documented over the last couple of years.
