well it needs a driver and its not finding it.. do you have a usb->ps/2 adapter? http://www.chic.com.tw/eng/products_model_...11&pmdid=77 i dont get why they wouldnt have a driver for it..
-
enough about these 64bit compatibility issues that everyone is afraid of. ive been using a 64bit OS for 2 years and and first there were some drivers not available but now there are plenty of 64bit drivers. unless you plan on using a 10 year old peripheral, you should be fine.

what does it say in the device manager?

Vista Win Update... does anyone tests what they download in your PC?
ripken204 replied to tommaso's topic in Windows Vista
dont do it! -
more like 90w for the new revision..
-
ya i saw that on the inquirer a few days ago. then yesterday there was an artical saying how she has $250,000 worth of networking hardware in her house..
-
and i do have critical data. i dont see how people can buy 2x250gig hdds and raid0 them. there is no way that you have 500gigs of unimportant data..
-
That page, and much of the inofrmation in this topic, is frightening! I always drink water when I exercise. The water fountain is right there on the track so it is nice and easy to stop running for a bit to get a drink water when you running i cramp up when i do that. it's also hard to carry a water bottle for a 10+ mile run.. anyways, people just have to learn to take control of what they do/eat. i try to not even touch junk food or soda. i would rather have a nice meal than mcdonalds(many ppl think the other way..). but i am also italian and i love those nice meals they are healthy at least.

well if its clean it will i spent soo much time getting my cables as perfect as possible, the result is amazing airflow and amazingly low temps. i hate that ide cable tho, i really want a sata drive just to get rid of that.
-
who are you asking my opty 170 just isnt fast enough for me for some programs.. ram is a bottleneck for me too, thats why i will be getting 4gigs.. hdd has always been said to be the greatest bottleneck, i want a raptor but i cant justify its price. i can get 750gigs for that price.
-
really! 7200.10 or 7200.9?
-
well his case would work fine, it's a p180. my p180 worked well with it too, as long as the upper hdd bay is removed.

http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Seagate-Int...roductDetail.do i was looking at these? if you want to use the drive then use it, but not in RAID, unless you want to do RAID5.
-
i personally want to get the quad. there is a new revision coming out, the g0, and i think its 90w. that means it runs cooler and can overclock more. the Q6600 will run fast enough for you. who cares if it give you 10FPS more in games.. the video card is what really matters. but that's just me, i use programs that will use all cores and you cant forget about crysis if you are really worried about the performance difference, then just get a really good heatsink for it and overclock it alot, i'm going water for my next build and that will definatly be nice for overclocking it.
-
why do you care about protection if you're not hooked up to the internet?
-
i guess it depends on if it made different windows folders.. but it was that simple when i had vista installed first and wanted to install xp on another partition.
-
ya that small difference as you said is mainly for large sets of data. JBOD is way too risky. 0 performance increase and an increased risk of losing everything.
-
those slim bars are heatsinks. there are 2 large capacitors on the top left, they look like large batteries. seriously just grab a can of compressed air and go outside with your psu and blow the dust out that way. if you want to clean it better you can just take off the top of the psu and use the air.
-
lol. well it's not hard to spot psu capacitors. the only ones that you reall have to worry about are the ones that are a foot tall

well either you can manually type in the allowed ip addresses or you can have some sort of a login system. you can check this out too. http://labs.involutive.com/2007/06/03/php-...g-curl-library/ -
you cant just use a can of air? if you really want to do, then just be fareful. ive changed the fans in my psu and messed around with a few other things in there. there will be big capacitors in there, just dont touch those and you will be fine.
-
well it also depends on airflow. alot of cases a passive heatsink is pointelss b/c most ppl have horrible airflow, therefore they need a fan directly on the heatsink. but the zalman one i had worked great, but it gets in the way of the video card..

Vista Win Update... does anyone tests what they download in your PC?
ripken204 replied to tommaso's topic in Windows Vista
The drivers there are tested - they're likely also certified. However, if they don't work for you, contact the manufacturer and raise hell if need be - certified drivers should work properly. If they don't, make sure the vendor knows about it, or they'll continue writing drivers that don't work properly on your hardware! well they dont work alot of ppl. and the driver isnt even on the nvidia website... i ended up using the official nvidia driver from a few months ago and vista works fine now. -
well i alot of the real life example type of benchmarks don't show much of an improvement with raid0... i personally could care less if my transfer rates go up a little when transferring large files, which i rarely do.. the only place that you really see a difference is in benchmarks, which really mean nothing. for games you may be the first person on the map, but who cares if you have to wait around for enough ppl to join? i am already one of the first ppl on the map with a single hdd.
-
thats not really a sale. newegg has them for the same exact price without having to use a rebate.. now what type of raid do you want to run? raid0 is kind of pointless for normal use. even for games you will only notice a small increase in loading times. not worth losing your data over a few seconds or loading time..
