ya the G0 is a little better when it comes to temp, no much. if i am going to overclock with stock cooling, it wont be much. i'm basically waiting for parts to come in stock for the water cooling.

for now stock cooling, i will eventually get some water cooling.

wow that ati card takes like any input i've always wanted a tv tuner too, it's nice so see some pci-e cards out there.

i think that there are some cracked versions that work on xp for download somewhere, i'm not really sure. you could try one of those if you can find it and just use your key.

Did you even look at the specs of the motherboard when you ordered it? There's your answer. You already have a good onboard RAID solution so you don't need to order a controller. i know my mobo has raid, lol. i was asking if i should spend the money to get a dedicated controller instead of using the motherboard's controller. you say mine is good, it better be for that price, thx.

i wouldnt call myself a first adopter by any means. the mobo is about it from the list of hardware i have up there. cpu was in january, gfx card last year, psu no clue but its been out a while.. anyways, more stuff just arrived from UPS but i gotta head out for a few hrs

can you please list the problems that you speak of? there were problems with the deluxe version that had been addressed and fixes in the premium version..

i dont even see where DDR3 came from? the P5K is DDR2 and the P5K3 is DDR3.

ya the airflow is amazing in my case but i just want something bigger.. and i could care less about ddr3 support right now, it's going to take a while for that to mature and to be available at a reasonable price. as for RAID now, should i get myself a controller?

stupid microsoft again! somehow my update settings was set to automaticall download and install! so i woke up this morning and my comp says to restart cus of updates, then i have to uninstall them again.. so i just decided to hide them.

as for cpu, i got what i wanted to get, i know what my other options were and i made my choice. as for mobo, yes i realize that there are problems but it is still a great board. i know that x38 is coming out in a month but i wanted to get a comp built this summer, the school year is extremely busy for me. as for ram, ive searched alot on 2x2GB vs 4x1GB. the set of ram that i got can get to over 1100Mhz which is good even for a 2x1GB set. as for case, the p180 is a huge case on the outside but small on the inside.. you have to admin that.. i was expecting it to be much larger in the inside. i love the look of the lian li case and that's why i'm getting it. as for hdds, i most likely will be going with RAID. and i have no clue where you are going with gaming, all the benchmarks that i have seen show almost no increase in performance while gaming. map load times is about it, but im always one of the first on the map in BF2142 so that wouldnt matter so much. for everything else RAID would be nice. as far as the raptors go, how loud are they compared to your normal drives and are they really that fast? i just want to see how the 7200.11 performs before i make any large hdd purchases.

lol, ya 640GB really is huge. i'de rather have that then buying 2 smaller hdds.. i just cant imagine what i would put on there. OS, apps, games.. where should i put apache? it runs fast enough right now on a single drive and i definatly dont want to risk losing that data.

well unless he is going to be doing insane SQL queries in a few years.. on my current comp the most advanced queies that i have all take under a second to run..

i dont think that he plans on buying a new comp in the next 4 years.. everyone has a different meaning of futureproof tho. mines is like 1yr down the road..

lol, wait 4 years from now and say that again how much ram were you using 4 years ago and how much are you using now? i was using 256MB 4 years ago and tomorrow there will get a 4GB set at my door. yes i have to agree that 4GB is a little too much at this point in time but 2GB is also a little too few. 3GB would be just perfect for me but that doesnt really perform well now does it?

see your forcing me too now, lol. which means i prolly will now now the question is, which drives i dont feel like spending 400$ on raptors.. although i would love to. i will most likely wait till the 7200.11 comes out, they claim to have a 105MB/s sustained transfer rate and they are available with 32MB cache.

the case has 120mm fans, except for the ones on the way bottom i think, and im getting it for a good price. the p180 is just to small inside for me, especially for water cooling. the samsung drive is an excellent one, the pioneer 112D is also excellent. 2x2GB=better overclocking, less heat, less stress on motherboard, future expandability if needed. i still dont like RAID but you guys are almost forcing me to now edit: ya the only 80mm fans are right aboe the psu where i can put 2x80mm, i guess for more hdd cooling which i dont really need since there is a 120mm fan for the hdds on the front side of the case.

not if he wants to upgrade later..
