so i've decided to upgrade my computer and i thought that i might as well share it with you guys. i'll be taking plenty of pics as i go about the build. here's the parts i'm getting: Q6600 G0 (been on a wait list forever and it's finally coming!!) EVGA 8800GTS 320MB (had for about a month of so) Corsair 620HX (just arrived today) ASUS P5K Premium (costs alot but i think it's worth it) Mushkin HP2-6400 5-4-4-12 2x2GB (2GB is just not enough for me ) Samsung SH-203B (sata dvd drive) Seagate 7200.10 320MB (already have, gunna get a 7200.10/11 500GB soon) Lian-Li V2000b (finally gunna get a kick-a** case, especially for water cooling) i'll get some pics up tonight of the psu. i should have everything by saturday except for the case which wont be here for another week

well how much are you planning on spending for ram? 8GB will run you around $500.. how about going for 4GB for now and seeing if you really need it? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16820231122

i just installed them and then my comp couldnt connect to the internet and for some reason the firewall was disabled and it was impossible to turn it back on. so i removed the updates and all is when. stupid microsoft!

just get some DDR2-800. what cpu, motherboard, and ram do you plan on getting?

i put the folder in the correct spot. but when i tried automatically updated the driver it would only look online for it..

hey thank you soo much! i finally got around to installing it today. i got the correct file from the vista dvd then i used your other guide for the rest. the one problem is that the hp priners did not show up.. so i had to say "have disk" and i browsed to the hp driver folder and selected the .ini file. then i selected my printer model and it worked

well im just wondering what problem ASUS is having with it..

what issue is that? im going to get a P5K Premium any day now, all i've heard about it is excellence.

they are all good mobos, except the biostar you really wouldnt go wrong with any of them, but i would go with the abit.

lol waiting half a yr for stuff to come out.. everything will be soo different by then. new mobos, cpus, video cards, ram, haha.
