ah, the mysteries of computers. i hate it when its impossible to get the error to pop up again.

well im not sure what the problem is then. i have only had this problem with a bad driver or overheating. try running memtest and orthos(watch you temps for othos) you should test the stability of your hardware, something could be bad.

what model psu? how are your temps?

ok, so since your server has 2 ethernet ports you can run it all of off there. what OS is installed on it? but that will require alot of configuration. the switch should work. so it all depends on if you want to spend money on a switch.

ya too bad they got rid of the vienna name, i absoultly love that as a final name. this if funny b/c i was just reading up on it last night. they should just get rid of 32bit. this will cause driver developers and program developers to only code 64bit apps. most cpus now are 64bit and by 2010 they all will be, so why not take advanatage of it. a while ago i read about them designing a new user interface, a completely different way for us to interact with our files. it would be cool if they could pull something out but i higlhly doubt that they will. even if they do it will probably suck.

if there is no patch for vista then i doubt there is one for server 2008..

i did pay for my computer, every single part. and i do take alot of pride in it and i have gotten alot out of it. i cant beleive we are arguing this much about operating systems. and what do you mean by " 'it works for me' takes away all the pride in putting what you want into your rig." ? i did alot of research on my computer and everything works perfectly. i didnt just go to newegg and pick out what looks the best by random. this thread has gone way off topic and thats enough from me. suryad, you are afraid of wasting cpu cycles, look at the cpu you have! you have too much power.

yes but i am not talking about people with average computers, i am talking about a brand new top of the line computer. and i highly doubt he is doing video editing, i am pretty sure it is for gaming. and your saying that the majority of ppl on vista have problems? i would love to see that data. i really dont know where you're coming from with that post for and is it directed at me?
