most likely your ISP, check your routers status light to see what is going on there, if ur using dial up then there is a reason too. are you using opera 8.5?

depends on how much tho, there rly is no point in upgrading since you have such an amazing machine. but you can get some of the stuff i said before if your company will let you upgrade it youself and if you are rich enough to spend money. @Andromeda43-sata transfers at 150mb/s and sataII transfers at 300mb/s. these arent the true speeds tho, its just the max speed that the drive could obtain but many people are able to get around 220mb/s with a sataII which is way better than 150. i cant wait till sataII comes out next year, 600mb/s.

well it only really adds the downtown and card, pretty much it. i love the cars tho b/c you can drive to work yourself and you dont have to pay a cab to go places. there are so many places to go downtown too.

i know that we are lucky, but when i was born barely anyone had computers, now most people have 2 or 3. and the speeds have increased dramatically since i was born too, i cant imaging in 30 years just how much better things are going to be. imagine how many cores that there will be in 1 cpu, amd is planning to have a 16 core cpu around 2010.

the mobility modder worked for me, and make sure that you use the ati driver for mobos with integrated graphics(IGP). or else you wont have much luck, its dloadable from ati's site.

this belongs in the hardware forum, but you should just upgrade this comp. get the new audigy x-fi sound card. the dfi nf4 ultra. some nice mushkin 4000. and you should be set, you could get some sataII hhds too.

how much money you have? a 3200 venice and maybe a dfi nf3 250 since you want to stay with agp which is a horrible choice.

i just parted one of my comps's hhds into 2. with xp installed on both, 1 is for my sister who will get lotsa viruses/spware/adaware and the other is for my dad whos not an id***. now will it be possible for all of the crap that my sister gets to be transfered to my dads part? and if so is there a way to prevent it?

also if u partition it, you can just keep ur data on the 2nd or even a 3rd part like i have, so that you dont need to burn ur files to a cd or whatever you do.

does anyone know how i can get opera 8.5 to download files using leechget? there is a plugin for opera 7 but nothing for 8.
