Is this what you want? http://www.linuxjournal.com/article/9521EDIT: I know its a how to but it explains why you would want to, if you want to. Also If I recall someone else here uses Linux as a firewall.

Honestly I'm not surprised anymore, and unfortunately this is how my generation and lower got screwed. All they do is spoon feed information. I remember my Spanish teacher last year (8th grade the most interesting teachers I had "one thought she was a cat o.0") tried to convince us that Mexican illegal immigration is good and ok because they only go for the jobs no ones whats then go back home. Not only did she try to convince us but she used empathy to make us feel bad!

Well this is great in many ways since I just started to learn about reverse engineering with this blog http://thelegendofrandom.com/blog/sample-page . I've just started to learn about ollydbg but I'll give FineSSE a shot too. I dragged vlc over FineSSE (to open it) and it gave me this error. Since I haven't even started with reverse engineering a program can you tell me what this error means EDIT: OT I also noticed that FineSSE will give me this message if I try to open another program (like CCleaner) could this message be cause because I'm opening a desktop shortcut?

Snow is much worse cold snaps, weakened immune system making diseases much more deadly (contrast to popular belief colds dont come from cold weather but from indoor confinement close with others) , hypothermia, frostbite and a lot more reasons why here http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/wonkblog/wp/2014/01/07/matt-yglesias-is-wrong-its-way-better-to-be-hot-than-cold/ and here http://www.thenewamerican.com/tech/environment/item/6665-heat-or-cold-which-is-more-deadly EDIT: In case this thread turns into a debate over global warming read this first http://wattsupwiththat.com/ or watch this (video in spoiler below)

I know for some systems certain hot-fixes aren't necessary like my Posready 2009 machine and my Vista Enterprise 64 bit computer, also not sure if reading it right but if are you having trouble installing the hotfixes? If so use 7 zip to or an extractor to get msu file then try it.

Glad that "supposedly" this is the last major snowstorm.

I have the driver's manual and everything, and just wanted to know if their is anything I should absolutely know. (except parallel parking ) EDIT: not sure if my browser glitched and posted this thread 3 times or If It just showed me three threads??? Maybe the server glitched I dont know?

Does anyone here know what things would cause this error. EDIT: I noticed that once in a blue moon it would stat a missing dll, but im having trouble trying to get that message to reappear.

Heres a nice site with a list of tools to check security http://www.techrepublic.com/blog/five-apps/five-tips-for-testing-web-browser-security/ I particularly used Browser scope http://www.browserscope.org/ and my setup for sea monkey (on vista) got a score of ---------------------___Score____Security__Rich Text____Selectors API__Network___Acid3_____JSKB SeaMonkey 2.2.4___86/100___16/17___933/1308____100.0%_____11/16_____100/100___82 Results for security HTML: http://www.browserscope.org/?category=security&v=top&security_results=postMessage%20API=1,JSON.parse%20API=1,toStaticHTML%20API=1,httpOnly%20cookie%20API=1,Block%20location%20spoofing=1,Block%20JSON%20hijacking=1,Cross%20Origin%20Resource%20Sharing=1,Origin%20header=0,Sandbox%20attribute=1,X-Frame-Options=1,Content%20Security%20Policy=1,X-Content-Type-Options=1,Block%20cross-origin%20CSS%20attacks=1,Strict%20Transport%20Security=1,Block%20reflected%20XSS=1,Block%20XSS%20in%20CSS=1,Block%20visited%20link%20sniffing=1 Compare that to my windows me opera 10.63 which got a 8/17 http://www.browserscope.org/results?o=xhr&v=top&security_results=postMessage%20API=1,JSON.parse%20API=1,toStaticHTML%20API=0,httpOnly%20cookie%20API=1,Block%20location%20spoofing=1,Block%20JSON%20hijacking=1,Cross%20Origin%20Resource%20Sharing=0,Origin%20header=0,X-Frame-Options=1,Block%20reflected%20XSS=0,Sandbox%20attribute=0,Strict%20Transport%20Security=0,Block%20cross-origin%20CSS%20attacks=1,Content%20Security%20Policy=0,X-Content-Type-Options=0,Block%20XSS%20in%20CSS=1,Block%20visited%20link%20sniffing=0&category=security and my Me's firefox 3.6.28 which got a 12 or 13/17 test still says running for Strict Transport Security

Go to this page http://www.fanboy.co.nz/opera.html right click main list or main list + tracking and save to downloads. Then open a new tab and type about:config Then look for network and click it scrolldown till you see URL Filter File and then click chose Search to way you downloaded the file from fanboy then restart and relax as you get no more adds.

You can thank this thread for makeing me realize Win Me was better than 98 http://www.msfn.org/board/topic/61407-service-pack-for-windows-me/ and this guys wise words http://www.msfn.org/board/topic/61407-service-pack-for-windows-me/page-20#entry841393 . It was M$ fault for riding on the 2000 computer scare and not giving Win Me proper unbuggy programs.

Hey y'all I'm just wondering what browser y'all use and how y'all would rank it in security (from 1-10). To start I use SeaMonkey 2.24 with ad-block plus. (Filters: All the Fanboy filters http://www.fanboy.co.nz/) I also have NoScript to prevent XSS and Clickjacking attacks. I'd rank my new secure browser somewhere between a 7-8 as since I do not want another Win 7 incident http://www.msfn.org/board/topic/170810-ok-ok-well-support-it-lol/page-5#entry1067128 , though I bet y'all can do better so tell us what you got and how would you rank it from 1-10 , but please no 1s.

I know this inst directed at me but I still give you my answer . I use doc since soft maker 2008 was given out for free sometime ago and as Me user I couldn't turn the offer down. (compatible with 98 too) Though I also like .rtf files I haven't used one since I got softmaker 2008 for free (dont think its free anymore )

How about 2 for 4. Seriously though thanks for ya help. OT: curious though do you have some webpage so I can do better google searches. I remember ages ago they taught me in school but no one cared to pay attention, but now I see the importance when finding things like dang drivers.

PCI\VEN_1814&DEV_3090&SUBSYS_663211AD&REV_00 PCI\VEN_1814&DEV_3090&SUBSYS_663211AD PCI\VEN_1814&DEV_3090&CC_028000 PCI\VEN_1814&DEV_3090&CC_0280 Though you dont need to since some guy on the HP forums found the driver. http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Desktop-Hardware/Hp-Pavilion-p6510y-desktop-network-controler-for-Windows/td-p/3530305 I'm good to go

this makes Win7 worse. The responsiveness of Vista is better because of the better Superfetch. One thing I can say is that vista is much faster on this computer than 7 ever was.

IBM ThinkPad 560 makes strange sounds instead of booting
Flasche replied to dhmmjoph's topic in Hardware Hangout
OT: oddly reminds me of space invaders. Though I can say the clicken is probabbly the harddrive (past experience with many broken ones). Curious though why this laptop my school is full of them and no one can stand the things. (Though the majority of my class thought that windows 7 computers with windows classic apperarence were old as dirt ) -
Why do you need the PID/VID its not a usb adapter. Unlease I'm missing something?
-
I found the Network controller! its the Ralink 802.11 b/g/n WiFi Adapter. Unfortunately the dang thing is giving me trouble. I'm currently trying to find the oldest version of it. EDIT: after uninstalling Ralink wireless Lan adater windows vista found the network controller and is currently trying to install it. If it fails I'll make another edit.
-
The thing is this computer is built for vista and 7
-
Could you provide the VID/PID? This is *essential* in finding the correct driver. *Always* provide this detail for Driver Searches. "Generically" speaking Realtek has them here (according to the above quote) - http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/downloadsView.aspx?Langid=1&PNid=14&PFid=7&Level=5&Conn=4&DownTypeID=3&GetDown=false Thats the same link the hp guy gave me. It helped with Ethernet but not wireless http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Desktop-Hardware/Hp-Pavilion-p6510y-desktop-network-controler-for-Windows/m-p/3530411/highlight /false#M76290. EDIT: This page is about my computer and drivers, but for windows 7 This is prob the particualar driver I'm looking for I think: Original Realtek Networking Controller Driver or Ralink 802.11 b/g/n WiFi Adapter

I have the same issue with my Posready 2009 machine (XPsp3) when I tried to trouble shoot my LAN connection. I dont think MS will help cause I guess this how they will prepare to drop XP.
