  1. Thank you very much. I downloaded the Catalyst Pack 3 and everything is working just fine now.
  2. Well, I decided to setup a dual-boot configuration with XP x64 on my system, and I'm astonished by how fast it performs. The only problem is, my R7 260x drivers don't seem to function. I know that people here work magic with drivers, so any help is kindly appreciated.
  3. EDIT: nVidia ForceWare version 344.11 has been found to support the GTX 900 series on Windows XP x86 and x64. Original post: Unfortunately for XP users, nVidia has discontinued support for Windows XP on their GTX 900 series GPUs. Maybe an unofficial driver is in the works...?
  4. The problem is it using the InsydeH2O bios, Windows 2000 simply will not activate ACPI multiprocessor on that BIOS. If you want Win2k on a modern machine, desktop is a bettter choice.
  5. Well I did some research myself and from the basis of people isntalling WIndows 2000 on z87, i figure that chipset v.1.1.54.0 aka v. 9.3.2.1020 which was used there, would also work with Vista. It seems to have installed the USB3.0 drivers as well. Now, my question is that can these drivers work for z97 too? I know I can use a z87 board with the latest CPUs, btu i still want the latest chipset.
  6. Hello fellow MSFN users. I'd like to know whether I can have fully working chipset, usb3, etc drivers with z97 on Vista SP2 x64. I suppose you'd have to modify them, in that case how can that be done.?
  7. Your best bet with laptops is an ASUS laptop. The ASUS BIOSes do not restrict the installation of Win2k. Same with Dell BIOSes. So if you're gonna run Win2k on a laptop, look for only those 2 companies.
  8. Use an older version of VLC Player, it'll work just fine. And with the Application Compatibility Launcher that tomasz86 provides you should be able to get the latest VLC up and running. Or theres a WMP codec pack online that supports Win2k out of the box. http://www.softpedia.com/get/Multimedia/Video/Codec-Packs-Video-Codecs/Media-Player-Codec-Pack.shtml
  9. All of the systems that I've tested with the insydeh20 bios failed to install Win2k. Its most likely the case here. Whereas with the systems that lacked the insydeh20, WIn2k installed perfectly.
  10. Do you have an insydeH20 bios? If so then Win2k won't install.
  11. Here is Windows 2000 running on a 25Mhz Intel 486 CPU.
  12. For GPUs I would recommend nVidia ones, nVidia GPUs simply work better in Win2k. Thank you bluebolt for taking the time to install and test Windows 2000 on an i7 4770k.
  13. Well I have made threads about Windows 2000 related to intel processors, but Phenomic and Tomasz86 here has worked on Windows 2000 on the AMD side. So has anyone gotten 2k on an FX-8350? and if so how does it perform?
  14. As you may know, Windows 2000 is not optimized for HyperThreaded CPUs, because the scheduler goes through all allocated threads one by one, rather than scheduling the first thread of each core. My question is that is there any way to fix that to run Win2k better with hyperthreaded CPUs like the i7 4770k?
  15. Windows XP will support DDR4 without any mods/drivers. Windows 2000 and 98 do DDR3 without drivers just fine.
  16. Tomasz had modded the Windows XP x86 ntkrnlpa.exe so that it would support more than 4 gigs in PAE and it recognized all 8 gigs, my question is, how do I do that in XP?
  17. Personally, i think so. Vista's codebase is far more advanced than that of XP, and is more compatible and will be supported longer. As for Windows Embedded 2009, don't expect MS to give it support beyond 2014, the 2019 date is probably on the line tech support or paid support.
  18. Graphics is OK, but I want to know if the OS works on the platform.

    Chrome on Me

That does not look like Windows ME to me. Look at the placement of the My Documents I con, and the Tahoma font.
  20. Sorry to ask, which driver you used finally, because i´m also trying to install on a similar configuration Win2k - but the graphics won´t work for me. Configuration: Asus H61N-M, Pentium G2020, 4GB Ram ... i installed allready des USP5.1 with rollup 2 and the v11 Rollup. Can you give some advice ? tnx I highly recommend that you use an nVidia GPU with Windows 2000. They run the best and the most stable from my experiences. Additionally, AMD CPUs work better with Windows 2000. You'll have issues with standby on your Intel system, but other than that, it should work.
  21. Turns out I don't even need the FX hotfix, all i have to do is disable C&Q in BIOS so performance drops don't occur.
  22. Well, I tried it myself, and the hotfix isn't installing. Strange, I ran updates for quite a while too.
  23. Unlike my friend, who got the necessary hotfixes for his FX-8350 processor in Vista update, I haven't gotten the proper updates. So, my question is, why do these updates not show up, or take effect on my system? I had done all the required procedures, and he got the hotfix, and I'm still stuck without one. Any suggestions?
