  1. Ok guys here's another link to iTunes4.9.exe /Switchless, its based on the webspace my ISP provided me. Switchless iTunes 4.9 If you use this link can you please post so I can keep a rough count of how many times it has been downloaded. Many thanx Rik P.S. The file has been removed for the time being, sorry! P.P.S File now back in place with a few changes
  2. Great, and yes that woul dbe wonderful, but don't worry if you can't. I would host this on my own website on my own personal webserver, but it is currentely down for maintanace and is likely to stay that way for the forseeable future. Do you still want that guide? (i'll work on it when I get some time if you want it)
  3. Try turning off your windows firewall, assuming that you are using XPSP2. I had an issue with Norton and Windows Firewall and it was soleved by killing W.F. Not sure if this is the same issue that you are having but give it ago.
  4. @galvanocentric I've just looked and it has only been downloaded 9 times, one of those was by me to see if it worked. All I can suggest is try again. I will post a guide of you want, but it will not be tonight as I have just completed a very long shift and in need of some Z's. U may have to wait until the weeked, hope that's ok. EDIT: 8 actual downloads and no comments. EDIT2: Just found on my ISP allows me 250Mb of space, I'll work on getting a file here within the week.
  5. Ok, cool, well mine comes in at the moment at about 1.5Gb, althought it is shrinking. Gonna stop using office and move to OO, also gonna move away from Norton NIS, and start using Kerio and AVG7. Also creating self-extracting 7zip installs as well which knock a couple of Megs off of most things. A test on this come out at about ~590Mb, which certainly is not going to break and records
  6. Took 4 hours on my G/f's PII-400 with a 1.5Gb DVD based install. (170Mb nlited XP, Office 2003, Norton 2003 were the biggy's, and a bucket of other smaller stuff) How long surely is gonna be bsaed on the machine speed, not on how much stuff you install. Surely you'd be better asking who has the biggest UA cd/dvd? Just an idea Rik
  7. Thanx for the explaination, I'll have a look into that, althought I have to admit that I probably wont use $$Rename.txt as I don't really fancy wading thru my RunOnceEx.cmd again and changing the name. Good idea MOON, might I suggest, however that keep protectUA.vbs a seperate entity. As this will allow ppl who do use this on only one disc (DVD) to aviod confusion. Also I see one small flaw. What happens if someonw gets hold of just a copy of the 2nd disc and just uses it to install software on an already set up XP? Do either of you two mind if I open a new topic about ProtectUA and put down a simple 1-2-3 type guide (Do this, then do that etc.) and links and credits to this topic and you guys. Also always any trouble shooting to be done else where and allow this topic to be for further development. Ideas? If ok with you it will probably not get done until the weekend, but I thought that a guide written by a user and not a developer would be a good plan. I love 1-2-3 guides. Learn the basics step by step and work from that as a base:) P.S. please excuse my worse than ususal English, I've just finished 12hours driving a forklift, and I'm beat
  8. Ok a couple of suggestions (probably useless but worth a shot) 1) is the file very large and your computers RAM very small. You mite have overstretched the RAM and the page file during copying and run out of resourses. Unlikely but just an idea. 2) Do you have Outlook open when copying the file. I have a backup program that throws all sorts of errors if I try and copy the Outlook .pst file while outlook is open. Other than that I'm out of idea, sorry.
  9. @ghostrider Glad it's fixed. Rik P.S. Love the name
  10. If M$ can get away with, everyone else can to. I assume that you mean the DriverPacks! Why don't you post ur problems and work with BTS to help make them better for everyone. He doesn't have access to all the drivers. As I've discovered with my AMD IDE controller. If you have a problem work with the man, it makes it better for everyone. I for one always feel humbled when I can help a great programmer as I can't program worth s***e. (I know I've tried, 1 year as a Junior Software programmer and I still struggle with basic batch files). Keep up the good work BTS
  11. you've run out of disc space???....
  12. I've a 1.1Ghz ULV Centirno in my L.T. I like it for it's speed. It is a lot quicker than I was expecting I have to say, but I suppose it depends what your expectations are. It multitasks about as well as you'd expect for a single core/no HT cpu. I'm waiting for dual core Yonah's to come out, and gonna build a low power drawing machine, as a main desktop
  13. Close to your WINNT.sif file, should be a file called WINNT.old. This is the copy that was backed-up by the DriverPacks. You will need some of the code that the packs installed from the [GUIRunOnce] section the rest you can mod as you see fit
  14. Are you using the lastest MassStoragePack????
  15. BTS I think that I have what you need! (Hopefully) Please let me know if this is what you are after and my mind can then rest in peace. If you need anything else, I'd be happy to help. Rik EDIT I removed two files from this folder 1) Unwise.exe and 2) RebootM.exe so that it would be small enough to fit on the Forum. AMDEIDE.zip
  16. Post Deleted File Removed
  17. You'll have to tell me how to do it, step by step. I'll gladly help out where I can as I really would like to see it work.
  18. Also Hardware ID's using your little tool which I have just found hwids.txt
  19. What motherboard do you have, this will help a lot in ID'ing the RAM that you need. Welcome to the forums. Rik
  20. OK thanx How do you want to go about this? Ta Rik
  21. Hi I am trying to install on a MSI k7D Master(AMD 762/768 chipset), with the Mass Storage Drivers. It fails with a stop error as soon as windows tries to start during the Text mode part of the install, before you get to format the drives etc. I have attached an Everest 1.51 report of my system to see if this mite aid in fixing the problem. Any ideas? Thanks Rik Report.rar
  22. I have created a switchless installer for iTunes4.9 if anyone in interested. If anyone wishes to download this installer then someone is going to have to suggest somewhere or some one who might host this as I dont at the moment have the ability to host my own files. This install is based heavily on information gleaned from this post. Let me know if you are interested and anywhere that this file can be hosted.
  23. 3 inchs is about 80mm, so get an 80mm fan
  24. Martin, Don't worry it works! That's what testers are for. Not quite following you on the use of $$Rename, I've never heard of it before. If you do expand on this (you don't have to) start with the bascis and work up Thanx for the VB comment syntax.
  25. Hey I've had a few issues which I managed to sort out and it now all works These are as follows: 1) PKUNZIP.exe only seems to like DOS names (i.e.) less than 8 chars long. Spent ages trying to figure out why ProtectUA.zip would not extract. It's 9 chars long! Renamed ProtectUA.zip to Protect.zip and edited the ProtectUA.vbs file to reflect this name change. 2) The files that PKUNZIP extracts are truncated to be 8 chars long as well. Renamed all my cmds and reg files to be less than 8 chars long. This is a bit on a pain in the butt as I use my files names to describe what the file does. I can however live with 8 chars as the benefits outway the cost. 3) Being a dumbass. There is not a cure for this. You guys are the best. Will this work with an ecrypted VBS file, and if it will can someone remind me how to incript vbs files. Also what is the syntax for adding comments to vbs code as I wish to comment the BIOS IDs so I know which machine is which. Beers all round you all deserve it. Rik
