  2. is there any help you can give in makeing it look like BartsPE.... or more so... like Windows Explorer... so that i can run my repair software or other testing programs....
  3. i didn't change any defaults.... so what shell should i be using.... My WinPE doen't reboot on its own... i only have a cmd window... i type exit, then it reboots...
  4. You do understand that if you take ANY retail, VLK, OEM made CD, integrate SP2 into it, that it is still official.... as long as you don't remove anything..... so, date time/folder structure shouldn't be an issue even if you are a purist as you say....
  5. I have a Dell OEM SP2 cd. will that work? Why do you need the listing???
  6. I got a copy of WinPE 2005, and i am running into many problems. WinPE boots fine as its own ISO.... Gets to the inistal cmd scripts... thats it.... I thought WinPE was like BartsPE, get to an enviroment, make some modifications... I can't do anything, i need guidance. Please help.
  7. Please do an internet search on a "NT offline password reset" tool. If you still have proglems PM me.
  8. All i have to so, is that there is no need to improve!!! If you need something that flashy to get the credits accross then, you are to focused on the end credit, not the production credit. I feel (and have noticed) that even this program in ist simple form is VERY powerful in getting recognition. I LOVE THIS PROGRAM !!!!!!!!!!!
  9. Both installations act as if direct from cd. No options are saved.... OK, let me give an Update..... After 5 hrs of playing... i found that if i use Nlite to make a bootable ISO and test with VPC, it works. If i use the nlite compilation in my dvd menu... it doesn't work..... What i am i doing wrong????
  10. OK, i need some help. I created an XP SP2 disk with Ryans update pack, and a few more patches that he didn't have to make an xp disk that when loaded will be 95% current (only the patches you can't download for offline install or that nlite can't handle). My unattended worked before, but resently it's not working. Here is my Nlite/setupmanager tweaked version: ;SetupMgrTag [Data] MsDosInitiated="0" UnattendedInstall="Yes" AutomaticUpdates=1 AutoPartition=1 [Unattended] UnattendMode=DefaultHide UnattendSwitch=Yes OemPreinstall=YES OemSkipEula=Yes WaitForReboot=No NoWaitAfterTextMode=1 NoWaitAfterGUIMode=1 DriverSigningPolicy=Ignore NonDriverSigningPolicy=Ignore Hibernation=No TargetPath=\WINDOWS [SystemRestore] MaximumDataStorePercentOfDisk=2 [GuiUnattended] OEMSkipRegional=1 OemSkipWelcome=1 AdminPassword=* EncryptedAdminPassword=NO AutoLogon=Yes AutoLogonCount=1 TimeZone=2 [Components] Iis_common=On Iis_inetmgr=On Iis_nntp=On Iis_smtp=On Iis_webadmin=On Iis_webdav=On Iis_www=On Iis_asp=On AccessOpt=OFF Freecell=OFF Hearts=OFF Minesweeper=OFF Mousepoint=OFF Msnexplr=OFF OEAccess=OFF Pinball=OFF Solitaire=OFF Spider=OFF Templates=OFF WMAccess=OFF Zonegames=OFF [UserData] ProductKey=xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx FullName="Pat Coleman" OrgName="Woodgrove Bank" [Networking] InstallDefaultComponents=Yes [TapiLocation] CountryCode=1 Dialing=Tone AreaCode=808 [Identification] JoinWorkgroup=WORKGROUP Here is the "Server" (all 3) that the Setup Manager (deploy tools) created: ;SetupMgrTag [Data] AutoPartition=1 MsDosInitiated="0" UnattendedInstall="Yes" [Unattended] UnattendMode=DefaultHide OemPreinstall=No TargetPath=\WINDOWS [GuiUnattended] AdminPassword=* EncryptedAdminPassword=NO AutoLogon=Yes AutoLogonCount=1 OEMSkipRegional=1 [UserData] ProductKey=xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx FullName="" OrgName="" [LicenseFilePrintData] AutoMode=PerSeat [TapiLocation] CountryCode=1 Dialing=Tone [Identification] JoinWorkgroup=WORKGROUP [Networking] InstallDefaultComponents=Yes
  11. is this an INTERNAL LAN only (i.e no broadband connection (cabel, DSL))??? How does you other computers on the LAN connect to the internet??
  12. Try updateing to the Micrsoft Update... fixed some of my systems...
  13. Very confusing..... What are you asking for??? Your not refering to windows System File Checker, to repair/replace system files from source??
  14. just curious, but why do you want all of those proprietary OS's..... i could understand 98/ME but not before that... Why....
  15. I'm not trying to be rude, i just want people to think first, before they respond. If someone were to say, i don't know, ask for help saying the the unattended setup worked before they used the nifty program fo fix the server sp1 issue..... I think they would be inteligent enough to have copied the winnt.sif file where it is needed to make windows use it. P.S. I still need help with my unattended part.
  16. OK, First I would like to say THANK YOU!!! I am now finally able to use my 2K3 Server (ENT/STD/WEB) SP1. The only problem is that I can’t get my “Unattended” install file to work with any of my windows installs. I used the XP distro install tools (too make winnt.sif files). It worked before, but after I used the boot folder creation tool (thanks Alanoll) it won’t work. Please someone help.
  17. Us any mounting tool for the image. I used deamon tools, to mount my 4.2GB image in a virtual drive, then used VPC to grab that "Physical" drive and tested my creation. no more error. PM me if you need the program.
  18. It might Help if you put ou image file in the ".\images" folder as per the CDShell guide. and make sure ".\boot\modules" has your memdisk.... I used the guide and it works for me first time... i also use partition magic 8 on my menu along with the new NT offline password reset tool. If you need help, please let me know.
  19. ok, you either need to talk about ME, or XP... switching between the two is only going to confuse someone..... If you use the tools provided.. You should be fine...PS... you DO NOT USE THE IMA/BOOT FLOPPY... Use the tools
  20. How are you adding it to your cd??? If you are not adding it as an IMA (image) then calling it from a boot menu... that might be your problem.
  21. Not to rub salt in the wound but..... Why not use the Setup disk that comes with the new HDD????? I mean, how do we know that the new HDD will WORK in the new system... you know... BIOS limitations and all... He might even have to insta EZBoot or a similer program from the setup disk... EVERY HDD manufacturer has a Drive to Drive copier.. works great, or they wouldn't use it.... plus it is even graphical and it tells you what to do... step by step... no knowleedge needed....
  22. Personnaly a faster way fo restore is to.... 1. make a slipstreamed ver of you XP disk.... 2. Run the CD Setup... hit enter to setup... accept the EULA, when XP fing prev. ver. hit "R" for the Repair mode... much like "sfc" but more intrusive... not just core files... most of xp... (for getting rid of the pesky bugs)... You will be able to keep ALL (haven't found a black sheep yet) of your cracks, tweaks, programs, music, settings out side XP... Inside XP (well , most..) depends on what tweaks, hacks you have done to the system core... if nothing then you have not an issue. Hope this helps... P.S. We had dell machines come in as a contract from the military (preloaded) we added them to the domain, and what do ya know... we needed to fix it... i did the same steps as i mentioned and, not only did it keep our files, but it let us stay on the domain with out any issues...
  23. CDImage Gui only makes an ISO file.... nothing more.... If you are asking where to put your Autorun.exe file... that would be the root folder of your project... In the Gui version, where it asks where the root of your folder is.... select the folder on your HDD where you coppied all of you cd files and started your tweeking... make sure you extract the boot image for your Microsoft disk...
