  1. hmm, i thought it was gonna be the .net os, where you need a high speed connection, and things are run off of m$'s .net servers, but I guess that changed?
  2. hmmm, i feel sorry for you, getting an x64 version of windows i got an amd64, and basically, i will not use xp x64 , until outpost pro gets ported, cause other than that, i had no beef with winxp x64
  3. i guess for blackcomb im gonna want a 3200X2800 LCD? to see all the benifits? jk, i just had to
  4. is this really causing you a problem though?
  5. one thing i like about my project, is it would be perfect, when your the admin of all your home machines, cause you'd basically lock them down making it very easy to be the admin from then on, ati hints soon mainly with my project, you only load the drivers when you run a game, that you'd need to
  6. true, this is one of the least f-ups ive seen but those critical patches lately, on the other hand its good they patched them though
  7. um, it should give you an option in browser, ill reply with how in a min goto http://www.3dgameman.com/ on the left side, they will be a click here to download plugin with a green puzzle piece thingy. use that, it will download and install the plugin
  8. ok i got back in my windows, with safe mode and minlogon but i still cant boot from cd, with my nlite cds and windows xp but I cant boot a partition magic disk, so i am lost as to why its happening
  9. i dont got a floppy drive, which I now regret
  10. cool idea what i want is a way to make a bootloader that can load from an alternative filesystem
  11. so what do you think a higher number than 64 will do? what would 64 stand for?
  12. lol, i think its funny, that people make out there is a second choice. not for gamers, you have one choice windows. wine is not an option either. when you've been raised on windows, linux is like dos, but even if you know dos, linux is still 100X as hard to setup and learn. and yes its fair to blame m$ for f$*k ups, cause its there os, there code, there fault simply put. but in the end, who cares, if it didn't break your system, then there isn't really a reason to care.
  13. ok, ill take a look at what it does to the boot.ini
  14. regular ati drivers w/ control panel take up 50MB ram on my system. vs the built in vga drivers. In my microwinX project ati drivers take up 10MB ram, or less, so i will share this once my project is live.
  15. yes, I think no one has heard of this yet anyway, im gonna scour google this weekend for anything , hopefully i find something.
  16. nice idea do you have a plan for it?
  17. everyone who wants to be a beta tester, please wait until the front page , says beta 2 has been released. Then PM me
  18. DMA is direct memory access, correct me if im wrong.
  19. I am sure nuhi will figure it out.
  20. very true. i honestly think this would be a minimum for vista (enjoyably) dual core processor x1800xt 512MB or future 7800 ultra 512MB 1GB of DDR @ 500-600 on amd 1GB of low latency DDR II 667 on intel 2 SATA II drives in raid 0 1GB usb key for better superprefetch stable psu well thats the only thing i'd dare install vista on but even 1 GIG isn't gonna be much under vista, (memory hog, with all them features left on) but nlite will come out for vista, and make vista very good, hopefully completly break DRM and such , maybe even find away to play those HD thing on normal monitors @ high resolutions
  21. yeh lol, alexa is spyware, but one that has a use supposedly, ? but anway, i'd try to find an optimised build of firefox, they are alot faster. i am using this one, it load just as fast as IE after first load, 2 seconds to load the first time you should be just as fast, your system is 1337 http://www.pryan.org/mozilla/firefox/mmoy/...0.7-K8B-X36.exe
  22. well first off its beta. its made by the company that knowingly installed spyware on all copies of windows xp (one that had a purpose but still). its a monopolies spyware program , free or not, i'd rather switch to linux, but its too hard. whats the point, when it takes up memory all the time, to keep you immune (seperate process), where spybot s&d, makes you immune, without being in your memory at all. then theres firefox, its great, and its the best bet to keep away from spyware, to the point, that I think next time my neighbor calls me over cause of spyware, optimised firefox 1.5 im gonna put on his computer. basically he just got a new computer, that can handle firefox, (his last one, was sooo slow, IE barely loaded in 30 seconds. M$ antispyware, is like a celeron computer to me was never meant to work well in the first place
  23. ROFLCOPTER nice on. yeh, since im soo good with comptuers, i dont have trouble convicing anyone of this. cause after i fix there computer once. I tell them, try these, if you dont like your computer going faster, or if you dont like less virus' and spyware, then call me when you want me to install norton back on, never had one of those calls
  24. nice find, really, i might make use of this, bookmarked
  25. since XP for me. all the time, press F5, then it will notice
