  1. maxXPsoft: Hehe, no problem kinda figured that had to be it
  2. I'm sure I must be misunderstanding what you are trying to say. Again, my file does not touch that registry key at all, it adds domains under the following regkey. [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\ZoneMap\Domains] Adding domains to the Restriced Site Zones and blocking ActiveX controllers (CLSID's) are not the same thing.
  3. timeless: Thank you for your positive respons, it is much appriciated! I'm not sure what the keyname for blocked domains in Win98 would be or if it even exists, but if you would find out, I could surely adapt the .reg file to apply to a different key. maxXPsoft: In case you didn't see i mention this is the first post hehe That file is NOT the same as my file. That file is indeed recommended to implement together with my file as it blocks known ActiveX controllers, but it has nothing to do at all with the Blocked Domains / Zone restrictions. So applying that file also would just be an additional security measure, although all ActiveX controllers will be blocked when you try reach a domain that is in my list, and nearly all the ActiveX controllers source domains from that list are covered in my list anyway 2forza: Yes, that would not be a difficult task for AutoIt, although then the list would "have" to be hosted at the same URL, with the same filename and be non-compressed at each update (1mb+) which would not be verry convenient, also I don't know how frequent I will update the list on my own It's pretty good as is atm.
  4. maxXPsoft: Thank you, what a great idea! Keep in mind though that usually the users current settings (set through Internet Explorer or domains added by other antispyware apps, are usually added to HKCU).
  5. Thank you for responding on that one RogueSpear. Please referre to the Internet Explorer Security Settings for the Restricted site Zones for a full list of what will be blocked (rules are customizable).
  6. chiners_68: As I said this particular reg tweak needs to be ran after the loggen on user profile has loaded. Probably because the regkey is written to the registry at that point. Feel free to doubt it, but that's how it is
  7. Thank you RyanVM for your help! Here is the output of qfcheck. It shows that KB905915 is installed on system, however it still appears on MU after a fresh install of my source. I integrated it with the /integrate switch as with all my other hotfixes. (PS. KB905915 also appears on Windows Update) Windows XP Hotfix Validation Report for \\xxx Report Date: 1/30/2006 00:00am Current Service Pack Level: Service Pack 2 Hotfixes Identified: KB909520: Current on system. 8. sonic: Thank you, glad to hear you appriciate it
  9. You cannot set this key before user has logged in once and userprofile is completly loaded for the first time. (Start-menu and all is loaded). Therefore you need to run this reg after your setup is all completed and has rebooted and idling on desktop. One method would be to copy a self-deleting batch file to Startup folder at the end of UA installation that applies the reg and reboots one final time (reboot is needed for the reg changes to apply)
  10. RyanVM: Yes, I have read that somewhere Although I did not know it would not detect the latest IE update either And I'd really like to hide the MSN messenger and Windows Genuine Advantage Notification Tool. I know the data should be stored in DataStore.edb, although upon test the changes did not apply when copying this file (after hiding updates at MU) to UA media.
  11. Bad Sector: 8100+ actually , thank you! Thank you seapagan PS. If you experience sites with adware/spyware/malware/trojans/redirectors/mass popups etc please do post the domains here and I will validate and add them to the list! Eg. If you experience webpages opening from running files downloaded from P2P networks, or applications on your computers showing unwated adds, please note the domain. The list will grow with (bad?) experience...
  12. The correct way hehe, just did'nt bother.. /integrate on hotfixes and the admin install way of Office junkmail filter/updates.
  13. Bush... He's a joke.
  14. Ivanov: Nice, love the widgets!
  15. Hmm, mind explaining a bit closer, I didnt get that...
  16. No, but why would you install it then?
  17. You can make winnt.sif manually with notepad yes.
  18. Anyone installed this software/drivers silently?
  19. Hello and welcome to the forum. Please read the complete guide at unattended.msfn.org before you advance with additional tasks. You will get a whole new understanding of the UA process after completing that guide.
  20. Is it just me, or does the Share sync functio not work yet?
  21. Microsoft Should Fire N00bs
  22. Okey now it's getting annoying, I get like 4 Office updates and one IE hotfix that I have integrated and installed on my system showing as not installed! How can I get rid of those? And I'd like to get rid of the Windows Genuine Advatage Notification Tool update also...
  23. Beeing able to block these kind of annoying "pop-ups" would be awesome. A whole lot of them include some sort of spyware. Are'nt these mostly made with ActiveX?
