  4. That is not entirely true Dumpy Dooby: For people running Microsoft Internet Explorer this list will provide great security improvement. But it is not correct as you say that this list only limits to secure you while browsing in IE. Actually a lot of spyware nevertheless adware are often hidden in media files retrieved from P2P apps, often causing either exploits in Windows Media Player, Windows Pictue and Fax viewer (recently fixed by MS) etc. to be allowed to run. The way these files often work is that they will retrieve URLs when ran and infect your computer, either through the Windows Media Player "broweser" or IE, if you implement my list, you will be protected against this to a certain extend. Meaning also installed spyware on your computer could be blocked as long as you are using IE. However for users that use firefox, opera or others browser this list will only protect WMP, and not be nearly as usefull as for IE users.
  5. xper: Removed for next update, sorry about that.
  6. Domain blocklist, revised. This file will add reported domains that may harm your system to the Microsoft Internet Explorer 'Restricted Sites Zone' ensuring maximum safety and occasionally suppression of pop-ups. By default all active scripting, coockies and downloads are disabled. Please read more about understanding security zones at Microsoft.com. The list is a revised version of this thread. Frequently asked questions: How will I benefit from installing this blocklist? Installing this blocklist will significantly reduce the risk of being infected with spyware, malware, adware, dialers etc. while operating online in a Microsoft Windows environment, covering Internet Explorer (4.0 or higher) and Windows Media Player. Any infected files already on your system trying to access a listed domain would be blocked. Why not just use my favorite antispyware app? You should! However this blocklist will provide a way more complex list of reported domains than most antispyware apps, and by implementing this list to the registry your computer would be (at least somewhat) secured even if the end-user should uninstall an antispyware app. Using this blocklist will also not use any system resources. Why are the 'Restricted Sites Zone' in Internet Explorer still empty? To ensure the blocklist applies to all users the domains are added to HKLM and not HKCU, causing the 'Restricted Sites Zone' to appear empty. This is also done to prevent the end-user from modifying the list. If you would like to show the domains you could remove the following regkey. -HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\ZoneMap\Domains 'Restricted Sites Zone' blocklist vs. Host file. A hostfile may seem more secure as it will completely block access to the listed domains and any content (including pop-ups), however it is reported to significantly slowdown your system performance (startup, initialize NIC, browsing etc.). Using this blocklist is tested not to cause any slowdowns even on low performance systems. Will this file block ads and pop-ups? No, this file is not a pop-up or adblocker, but will occasionally block unwanted pop-ups and redirectors. Will the blocklist work on Windows 98? Yes it will. Ok, this all sounds too good to be true, how do I add it to my UA installation? With many thanks to Yzöwl the blocklist is now available in both batch and .reg version. Whatever version you prefer please note that applying this file before T-12 will not work, so apply at cmdlines.txt or later. NOT so frequently asked questions: May I help you keep the list up to date? Yes, you may!!! Feel free to contribute and report domains (add/remove)... File stats: MD5 checksum: 2AF8CB0E1CCCF739C9E9904BBEFC7250 Release date: 12.03.2006 Domains included: 7552 Files in .rar archive: Domain_blocklist.cmd Domain_blocklist.reg Domain_blocklist.txt (plain list of included domains) Uninstall.reg Download rar archive ~200kb - Credits to RogueSpear for hosting space. Domain_blocklist.reg ~1024kb - (Same as in rar archive, provided for easy autoupdate.)
  7. NikV2005: I have already edited that and tried with both ALWAYS and USER_LANG.
  8. I must agree, I always install this at my system after WPI and leaving out your xpize screensaver, no offence it has a great design, but for the professionalism and originality of the system i feel the 3d windows xp screensaver looks better
  9. As for installing Photoshop CS2 use the search function. The plugins are installed by just cimply copying the plugins to the plugins dir right? If so, you can just make a batchfile that copies the plugin files after installation
  10. Ok, I'm having the weirdest issue... I just downloaded the latest Norwegian update of Nero 7 (Nero-7.0.5.4_nor_no_yt.exe) and unpacked using WinRAR, after running the setup to extract all the needed files the dir got 448mb. I can install it fine using AutoIt, but my problem is that only English is installed!? Even if I manually install the app as normal and select Norwegian it still becomes English!? Options only list English lang. installed after setup.
  11. Please post your winnt.sif file. (remember codebox tag)
  12. Andromeda43: This topic is discontinued, and your wrong Hostfile is not the same thing, please advice the other topic and disclose this one
  13. codeblue: Nice guide but this is all over the forum already
  14. Maybe not machine dependand, but language dependant
  15. Please put your code in either code or codebox tags.
  16. Just noticed WPI.hta says VERSION = "4.3.6" at the very top of the document in the HTA tag
  17. Hehe okey, good to know your aware Then only remaining is really multiple dependancy problem. I found out my iTunes dependant of QuickTime gets selected only if QuickTime is placed before iTunes in the sorting order (regardless of installation order). It had to be: Codecs QuickTime 7 Pro Programs iTunes (A listing with the program category before Codecs would fail). Hope the above made any sence at all
  18. kelsenellenelvian: Thank you, excellent! It seems as the same problem occures in 4.3.8 also.
  19. Bump come on guys... I'm lost here... Multiple dependancy causes the app to not be default selected (at select all button or "select all at startup setting") Guess its a bug then? Cause this worked fine on the older versions.
  20. What's the default Windows Volume if you'd like to reset using autoit? 80?
  21. I have'nt upgraded my WPI since way back before audio player etc. simply because it was stable and worked fine Now I'd like to upgrade though and testing v4.4RC1 I'm running into some problems. 1. Are there no way to have multiple dependandt apps, eg. APP1 is dependant of APP2,APP3? - Somewhy when I have iTunes dependandt of QUICKTIME, iTunes is not selected at "start" even when the settings are set to "select all", same happens if I try have multiple dependant apps. 2. At start if all is selected, should'nt the category checkbox' be checked? EDIT: Found out that any apps with dependant set will not get checked at startup when options set to "select all at startup" how do i bypass this??? Thanks for all help.
  22. Updated Norwegian translation 03.03.06 Lang_NOR.js
  23. Thanks! Sound good running with WPI I think
