Hmm, I created a new Vista DVD and installed it. Now there is no error at all (I didn't remove WIA). But when I click on "File -> Print" in Paint.NET nothing happens. No error message, but even no Print dialog pops up. With the Paint included in Vista this works. Someone else has got this problem? I attached my last session.ini. EDIT: Done with new vLite.

Ok, if I remove the Windows Image Acquisition, then Paint.NET 3.0 will give the error that wiaaut.dll is missing if I click "File -> Print". So what is the compatibility window with Paint.NET in it for? I checked that Paint.NET compatibility should be kept, but it only works right, if I don't delete WIA.

Hmm, a friend has got Vista Home Premium x86 OEM and on his machine, the Aero theme, Flip3D and the games work fine. But the graphic card has to support Aero.

Got any AntiVirus software installed? If you got Avira AntiVir for example, deactivate the Guard and try again. That solved a lot of WAIK and vLite problems for me.

What about the attachment? Is there a way to unattended disable Windows Vista Firewall? RegTweak or somethin like that? EDIT: Ok, it seems as if the following RegTweak disables it. Are you using Avira AntiVir under Win XP? Because I had the exactly same problem. After I disabled the AntiVir Guard it worked fine. So always when I work with vLite (or mounting images) I have to turn off the AntiVir Guard.

After downloading the package, I extract it using WinRAR and then I have an .msi file that can be installed using DesktopSidebar.msi /qb-!

If the optionswizard is opened and you hover over the buttons in the left menu, the tooltips will show in english and with the default ToolTip Style. Can this be changed? Just a cosmetic thing that came with 5.5. It isn't a real bug I think.

No, it works flawlessly here, too! RC2 is the first build, in which my ATI Radeon 1900XT shows me 32 bit @ the beginning of the setup, in RC1 I had 16 colours there. My creative X-Fi Fatal1ty works now, too using the RC1 drivers Creative just released. (Integrated them onto my Distrib-Disc).

This is exactly was it does. I worked with this method on RC1, but if RC2 does not need the tag in the .xml file but copies $OEM$ it would be much better.

@ Nakatomi2010: Do the $OEM$ Folders get copied for you even if you haven't got <UseConfigurationSet>true</UseConfigurationSet> in your AutoUnattend.xml? I didn't test it with RC2 yet, but when I didn't have this line in the .xml file, nothing got copied. If I put this line into the .xml, the whole media on which the .xml file is stored gets copied to HDD, so I used an CDRW for my Drivers and WPI.cmd. Would be great, if $OEM$ gets copied now without the above entry in AutoUnattend.xml!

It isn't a real bug, but I think it wasn't there in WPI 5.4. If you choose another language than english (or autoselect) and open the optionstab, everything is displayed in the right language. If you now directly open the config screen, everything is english. If you close the optionsscreen before opening config screen, the config screen is displayed in the right language.

%systemdrive% and %WinDir% will work, I think. But I don't know if %cdrom% works. That would be awesome.

FileZilla = WORKS: No difference to XP QIP = OK: Needs flash installed, or it will bring up an error on exit World of Warcraft = OK, but worse performance than in XP, I think that's caused by the Catalyst Driver. I tried to extract the new SetPoint 3.10 with WinRAR and then used the switch -R to create the iss file, but when installing it silent, after setup it asked for updating SetPoint.

In my 64 bit Vista, the HKLM entries get created in [HKLM\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Ahead], but if you use 32 bit OS, the key you mentioned should be right.

@ N1K: With Nero 7 Lite installer, it is possible to get Nero working. I've tested Burning ROM, CoverDesigner, NeroExpress, CD-DVD Speed and DriveSpeed so far. No problems.

@ No One: Just change the serial in the registry at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Ahead\Installation\Families\Nero 7\Info\Serial I got the problem, that my cmd for calling Nero 7 Lite with all its parameters is too long. Can this selection be shortened?
