  1. MSFN doesn't really run well in Thorium either. It creeps from side to side. In Mypal 68 and New Moon 28, MSFN works great and fast.
  2. A very good website to get information for cinematic enthusiasts. You don't always have to think the worst. And I was asked which pages don't work. Apart from that, the browser repeatedly hangs when starting and loading websites, like most Chrome browsers that have been ported to Windows XP, such as 360Chrome. BTW, Instagram is the most toxic one ever. Anyway! I am just in testing mode. And nothing is left out.
  3. For example, Instagram stucks on first site. No content, no login window. Fortunately, I don't use it. And the website NOX caused my first, serious crash of Thorium.
  4. As far as I can see after all my performed tests, Thorium is still in beta stage. Many websites are not shown correctly. So, we will see how the development of this browser will go on. Generally, Thorium works even on my old computer even though we live in the age of seemingly limitless computer resources. But one thong is clear. It is much slower than Mypal 68 or New Moon 28, at least on my hardware.
  5. For me, the logger works in Mypal 68.14.1b with uBlock Origin 1.57.2 (tested in single-process mode) as it should. I can log every website and am able to select all results or the results of each opened website by clicking onto the corresponding entry in the logger's address bar.I don’t have to click right anywhere in the logger window, Could it be that you are simply using the logger incorrectly? Here is a little tutorial: First, start the logger. Then load pages. Now, select the window inside the address bar of the logger you want to observe. You can only observe pages in the logger that have been loaded before, of course. Cheers, AstroSkipper
  6. Use JustOff's tool MozJAR Recompressor: https://github.com/JustOff/mozjarr/tree/master All about re-compressing such files was already discussed here: https://msfn.org/board/topic/184051-my-browser-builds-part-4/?do=findComment&comment=1248092 and here: https://msfn.org/board/topic/184051-my-browser-builds-part-4/?do=findComment&comment=1247872 Cheers, AstroSkipper
  7. I tested a lot of sites like MSFN, GitHub, NY Times, Google, Chip, PCWelt, GMX and so on. TBH, I do not use Instagram anyways but this site indeed does not load correctly. BTW, I have only 1.5 GB SD-RAM.
  8. :OT Unfortunately, there are really no forks of browsers which bring newer browser versions to older Android versions. Thus, my old, beloved Samsung Galaxy S3 with the old Android 4.3 stucks on very old browser versions. When setting up my new Galaxy smartphone, I will probably root the S3 device to upgrade it to Android 7. Just for fun, of course! The good is my tablet is on Android 9 and still gets the most recent browser versions from the Chrome world. :END OF OT
  9. BTW, the same filter list is used in the most recent webextension uBock Origin 1.57.2 as in the legacy versions: https://www.void.gr/kargig/void-gr-filters.txt
  10. The Greek filter list is reachable here from Germany, too. [Adblock Plus 1.1] ! Title: Greek AdBlock Filter ! Version: 2023112600 ! Expires: 2 days ! Homepage: https://github.com/kargig/greek-adblockplus-filter ! License: https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0/ But this list doesn't seem to be maintained on a regular base. I would suggest to look for a suitable replacement. When you find a good one, you can post its link here. I will then update my mod.
  11. Thanks for the new version! Unfortunately, I have to report a new issue on Codeberg.org. When opening a website there (here in Mypal 68.14.1b using single-process mode), the following message is displayed at the top of the site: JavaScript error: e.contentBoxSize[0] is undefined (https://codeberg.org/assets/js/webcomponents.js?v=7.0.0-140-34a85c1536~gitea-1.22.0 @ 10:32190). Open browser console to see more details. Here is a screenshot of the browser console: And when closing the opened Codeberg site by clicking the close button, the complete browser closes immediately which means it crashes without any message. Can you confirm this?
  12. Until now, I couldn't observe such crashes here in my Thorium testing installation.
  13. Thanks but I already know that all. I was one of the first to be involved in testing that re-basing when @UCyborg suggested this method for Chrome360 after my observations in terms of its enormous RAM usage on my old Windows XP computer. The good is that Thorium is already well configured inherently when it comes to RAM consumption.
  14. On my system, the 360Chrome 11.0.2031 worked really well. The version 13.5.1030 rebuild 7 worked relatively well but only when the chrome.dll was rebased. The site loading times were much worse than in version 11.0.2031. In contrast, Thorium doesn't need to be re-based by the user and consumes much less RAM than normal Chrome versions. The standard loading behaviour is an other history, unfortunately. However, this browser was never made for my old system, either. But as I already mentioned, I found a convenient way for me to let websites loading much faster. More about this soon!
  15. Thorium actually starts relatively fast compared to other Chrome browsers under Windows XP, even on low-performance hardware like mine. Of course, it has first to be configured well.
  16. Your results? I've tested this flag and NONE of the SEVERAL quantifiable measurements (ie, the only real way to truly eliminate Placebo Effect) shows any "considerable" performance difference. Sorry, you have to be a bit patient. I am testing so much and can't say anything qualified about one single flag. Too much flags here and too much other performance settings to identify the effects of a single flag.
  17. Ok. Didn't notice that. Then it wasn't a request for normal DNS after all
  18. I think their discussion was specifically about DNS over HTTPS, which wasn't a thing until long after XP EOS. @UCyborg brought DNS over HTTPS into play. However, the original enquiry only mentioned DNS. Hence my answer.
  19. Thanks! I will test this flag.
  20. Here is a brief report of my testing so far if someone is interested. Thorium can actually be installed on such an old computer under Windows XP. The browser starts up still quite bearable compared to other browsers on my system. However, as always with Chrome browsers on low-performance computers under Windows, the page loading behaviour is problematic. Although I have configured all conceivable flags to increase performance and selected the settings to suit my hardware, loading web pages takes considerably much longer than with New Moon, Serpent or Mypal. Of course, websites can be loaded that no longer function properly in the already mentioned browsers. Surprisingly, RAM consumption is not a problem, it is rather perfect although Thorium is running in multi-process mode. Interestingly, it seems that I have even found a solution for my installation that considerably speeds up the loading of web pages and therefore the browser start, too. It's not a new one, though. One doesn't have to reinvent the wheel, either. But first, this method must still be thoroughly tested.
  21. True, but you can only directly configure Windows versions released in last 4 years or so to use DOH (eg. https://www.howtogeek.com/765940/how-to-enable-dns-over-https-on-windows-11/). Older ones require to use a sort of DNS proxy or special support from the browser side. In Windows XP, you can either directly insert the desired DNS service in the native network configuration window, or you do it more convenient with a very few clicks by using a third-party tool like, for example, ChrisPC DNS Switch. I use the Pro version which has more features and is more convenient.
  22. Disable the flag #enable-webusb-device-detection!
  23. I thought when you post in this thread anyways, you also would surely use Supermium. BTW, Thorium has this flag, too. Yep! I already knew.
