    I already know this comment. It was posted not long after MSFN became unavailable. I had to read shameful things in this specific thread, which may be detrimental and contrary to the mental health of a genuine MSFN member.

    I agree to this. The pronoun "you" should be better used according to its nature as the second-person pronoun. In the English language, there already exists a collective pronoun "one" to prevent misunderstandings. Personally, I always try to express myself as clearly as possible. And there is a big difference between using "you" in the written language and the spoken language. Non-verbal communication cannot be used in written language.

    SUPERAntiSpyware Professional X Edition 10.0.1250 is the version I am using now. It was the last version which comes via automatic update. When I am at my desktop computer, I will check the System Tools - System Investigator option and report here.

    My mind is at odds with my age. My body has not been what it used to be for a long time. I give an upvote for the maturing of the spirit, but a downvote for the maturing of the body. And waiting for death doesn't really make sense, because the black bird comes all by itself. Instead, delight us with your excellent analyses and your knowledge of the code.

    All more recent browsers show these behaviour. If you have a lot of RAM, it should be not a problem at all although I don't like such consumption. My Windows XP Professional computer is very low on resources. Only 1.5 GB RAM. One of the reasons I appreciate @roytam1's browser so much. On my machine, they are running in single-process mode, consuming RAM as they actually should do. Additionally, I installed Mypal 68 from the very first and also configured it working in single-process mode. It works great, and its RAM usage is low.

    Can you provide a screenshot of this breakage? When did this start happening? As we all know, uBlock Origin can be used in two different modes, a standard and an advanced user mode. Which one do you use? In the case, uBlock Origin does not report blocking anything on GitHub, you could check uBO's general settings in the option page. Maybe, one of these settings is problematic when loading a GitHub website. But this is just a theory. When I am back at my desktop computer, I will have a look in my configuration of uBlock Origin and check what happens when accessing GitHub.

    Undoubtedly a memory leak! I checked it at my desktop computer but wrote it later using my tablet. Of course, I meant 2.14.0 and 2.13.2 respectively. Sorry for being incorrect! I hate that. Mea culpa! And thank you very much for your information! I used the forum search before but I must have overlooked your solution. I'm not that fit at the moment. And now I've infected you, too.     To manage my user scripts, I use the legacy extension Greasemonkey for Pale Moon in New Moon 28 and the webextension Tampermonkey in Serpent 52. Everything runs well so far. Since the webextension Violentmonkey is mentioned here in the forum again and again, I took a closer look at it and installed the last compatible version 2.14.0 in a fresh profile under Serpent 52. Unfortunately, I found out that it does not work properly. The settings cannot be accessed via the toolbar button. Clicking onto the toolbar button to create a new script does not work either. After a lot of testing, it seems that the last fully working version is 2.13.2. @VistaLover I know you have been using Violentmonkey for some time. What version do you currently have installed? And is it fully functional? Edit: I corrected a memory leak inside my brain and corrected the version numbers. Maybe, I am too tired the last weeks.

    @Cixert! You are really helpful here. Thank you for your contributions! IObit Malware Fighter, another candidate which is already on my list. Unfortunately, I have had the same unpleasant experience as you. IObit tries to push their Advanced Systemcare product on every user. This is totally annoying. I have also noticed the increased consumption of resources. And when you uninstall software from IObit, there is always something left over. Then it's a matter of searching and manual cleaning.. On the plus side, IObit Malware Fighter is still compatible with Windows XP, for whatever that's worth. Unfortunately, in Windows XP we can't be very picky and have to consider every option, even those we would normally discard. At the moment, we still have other options, fortunately.

    @roytam1 Thanks for your clarification! For me as a freedom-loving person , the whole thing is unimaginable and extremely depressing. Maybe, a cooperation between you and @basilisk-dev really is a way to continue this great browser project in the future. I sincerely hope that things do not take a turn for the worst and that the further development of these fantastic browsers does not have to be discontinued. If I had anywhere near your skills in this area, I would make myself available in a heartbeat. Unfortunately, that is not the case. Anyway! Hope dies last.

    That's what usually is said in terms of XP and Vista. Partly true, partly not! I think we already know all arguments. My installation is very old. It did not register itself in Security Center. I can't say what would happen if I did a fresh installation. In this case, it is a proper name and is always written as the author intended, regardless of spelling. We don't really want to go into further linguistic considerations, do we? Apart from that, it would be unfortunately off-topic.

    Yep! I agree. If MSFN is not available for a longer period of time, a status message on Twitter or Facebook would be something useful.

    As you can see, SUPERAntiSpyware Professional X seems to be abandoned just recently, in March of 2023. That's very regrettable, of course! But the updating of definitions still works, of course!

    Hello @Cixert! I have been wondering for a long time that no one here mentions or recommends this program. So my compliments to you. I have been using SUPERAntiSpyware since 2007, starting with version 3. The last compatible version with Windows 98 and ME was 4.24.1004. Since 2011, I have been in possession of a lifetime licence and have been using it in the Professional Edition ever since. And you are absolutely right, SUPERAntiSpyware Professional has been XP-compatible for years and actually runs without problems. According to the fact that an automatic update from the version 10.0.1250 to 10.0.1252 isn't offered anymore in my system and according to their FAQ, SUPERAntiSpyware Professional doesn't seem to support Windows XP anymore. Therefore, SUPERAntiSpyware Professional X Edition 10.0.1250 seems to be the last XP/Vista-compatible version. That's probably why you observed an issue under the option System Tools. In the version 10.0.1250, there is no problem with this option.     Getting some more time to take a breathe is always a good thing. TBH, I have actually always thought that there is no digital barrier in terms of computers and internet that cannot be overcome, by whatever means. As a European and German, I naturally have no idea what such a barrier really looks like, how it is technically realised and what the consequences of discovering a circumvention might be at your location. Your life and well-being come first in any case, of course.     Yep! A firewall for an old OS does not necessarily need updates or to be more recent. As long as it works, it is an option for users of Windows XP or Vista. That's why I listed PC Tools Firewall Plus here. And Privatefirewall is already on my internal list, too. However, thanks for mentioning it!

    Hello @roytam1! Breaking the walled internet by using a good VPN service would not work at your location if this unbelievable (from a European perspective) case happens? Or to put it another way, is the use of VPN services allowed or possible at all in Chinese regions whose internet is walled? In any case, I sincerely hope that nothing bad will happen. We appreciate you and your work, and need you here. Your browser editions are legendary, essential and extremely important for users of legacy OSes.     Mypal 68 is not a fully portable browser. It writes additionally entries in the registry, needs files in the folder c:\Documents and Settings\YourUsername\Application Data\Mypal68 to find its profiles and uses of course profile folders where ever you created them. To make this browser fully portable you have to make a research in the internet. There are many sites which provide detailed instructions or tutorials for creating fully portable applications.
