  1. Thanks, posted on frontpage news
  2. Happy Birthday Drew, wishing you all the best for your 21st!
  3. Welcome to MSFN CiamS, good to see Microsoft Staff around the boards
  4. http://www.MSFN.org/modules.php?modid=2&ac...tion=show&id=87 Do you see Download File: and the link "Here"? Click that.
  5. A registry file must always have: Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 at the top.
  6. Thanks, will have to make a note of that on the site.
  7. Yes, One of Keyser Soze's package has all the hotfixes which he released about a month ago. And another one at techconnect. http://www.MSFN.org/comments.php?id=4314
  8. Still got a Permission Denied
  9. But thanks for your help though swgreed!
  10. I also use iTouch software. When the PC doesn't reboot, does it show a black screen with the mouse pointer in the center? (I've only had this happen to me 2 or 3 times though)
  11. I checked back into Virtual PC where I installed Windows XP using webmedic's hotfix script, and have found no folders in the root drive which you described.
  12. You might want to refer to this thread for more directories you can remove: http://board.MSFN.org/index.php?showtopic=7698
  13. I had a look at the AMD CPU processor (the Intel package was too large to download), and it looks simple enough. Inside is an INF file, so use OemPnPDriversPath in winnt.sif to install the AMD CPU processor. OemPnPDriversPath="Drivers\AMD"
  14. Run LiveUpdate to check for any product updates, because Norton Antivirus 2003 was released before MSN Messenger 6.0 even existed.
  15. Just a word of warning, installing MsgPlus silently will attempt to open MSN Messenger 6 and an Internet Explorer page.
  16. I'll make it easier to explain: Download this ->> dxsetup for dx9.0b.zip Extract it with winzip. Put dxsetup.exe into your \$OEM$\$1\install\DirektX9b\ folder. Now /opk command should work.
  17. get it at w2s I could, but I won't. Other people can if they want, but this patch does need to go though additional internal testing before Microsoft choose to make it available to download officially. Non-official patches won't be added to the main list.
  18. According to the Knowledge Base article Q817606, it says the following: Patch Replacement Information This patch does not replace any other patches. 816073 isn't downloadable :/ The urlmon.dll file (6.0.2800.1226) in the August 2003 Cumulative IE6SP1 patch supercedes the version of urlmon.dll (6.0.2800.1216) in the IE6SP1 update released yesterday. I don't know what prompted Microsoft to release this, but this cannot be installed if the August Cumulative patch is installed. This hotfix list was created from a normal install of XP SP1 I ran yesterday, viewed on WindowsUpdate
  19. ah well, nothing new there
  20. Easy answer for that, reinstall your nvidia drivers. Remember its the chipset software that should be installed first before any other driver.
  21. It will be rewritten with screenshots. Some guides will be rewritten, some of them linked to threads in this forum, and some linked to a guide on someone's webspace. Its just the essential stuff (hotfixes being one of them, and the one currently on site is pretty flakey) that's really needed on a Windows XP CD which will be on the site.
  22. I know NIS is Norton Internet Security, but what's NSW?
  23. gamehead200, you might want to stay out of threads that you have no knowledge to answer to. Most of your replies lately seem to be 'Reinstall Windows' or 'format your PC'. Those two choices should be the last thing a user ever has to do when no solution can be reached. </end rant>
  24. omg rofl!
  25. Yes, using svcpack prolongs the Setup process and hangs at 13mins for quite a while. But I do get the feeling its slightly quicker than running a hotfix batch during GuiRunOnce. Hopefully using the Security Rollup Package will speed things up a bit quicker as it won't need to process each hotfix. But I don't know if it will be compatible with webmedic's script. :/
