InfraRecorder works well for me http://infrarecorder.sourceforge.net/ CDBurnerXP is good too http://cdburnerxp.se/ Nero 7 and 8 are repugnant unless you need HD-DVD and/or BluRay support, or need all those tools it's bundled with.

http://www.fileplanet.com/promotions/crysis/beta/ it will ask for you system specs and to agree to an nda before you can join. I am going to wait for the full thing to come out but decided to post it here in case anyone else was interested

i dont know of any software that will make your hardware run faster except for overclocking tools (see hardware forum). I have yet to be convinced by any software claiming to make the system more responsive, usually the opposite occurs because more running application means more resources being used. Have you tried disabling unneeded services?

best site to get videos imo is gametrailers; you can select from a choice of formats (flash, mov, wmv), download the video to your computer, and they usually have an hd (720p) version with better quality. http://www.gametrailers.com/game/2469.html btw there was an irc chat with the ut3 developers a few days ago and one confirmed that there will be a linux installer on the dvd just like ut2004 had. http://www.beyondunreal.com/content/articles/203_1.php

Run "Verify Backup Archive" in TrueImage to make sure your image is not corrupted. Also have you tried restoring the image using the bootable cd version of TrueImage?

a long time since the last update but it is well worth it! :-) Sabayon Linux 3.4 x86/x86-64 miniEdition [stable Release] http://www.sabayonlinux.org/forum/viewtopi...=60&t=10483

hmm that software seems to specialize in unattended features, whereas nlite/vlite has unattended support, hotfix/driver integration and component removal. I don't really call that spam since it was a helpful and relevant answer I suggest you look at our MSFN Unattended Guide http://unattended.msfn.org/ and nLite / vLite, the official support forums are here at MSFN http://www.nliteos.com/ http://www.vlite.net/

I suggest you backup you files before you do anything. To reinstall windows or do a repair install or an "unattended" install you will need a Windows CD or install source. I reccomend having a secondary partition or hard disk where you keep your import files seperate from the OS in the case of viruses, disk failures, or when windows becomes corrupted and requires a reformat.

can you give us more detail about what type of screensaver you want to create? will it be still images like a slideshow, a 3d animation, a video, or something else?
-
I have to agree with LiquidSage this sounds like a software problem and not a problem with the videos themselves, though that is still possible. I would recommend you try playing them on another computer and see if you have the same problem. Thanks for letting us know about asfbin and Movica LiquidSage, those look handy

edit your post and fix it so it is not all caps; it reads like you are shouting.

Do you get an error message when you try to run Nero.exe or the shortcut to Nero Express? Try Uninstalling Nero again and run the Nero CleanTool, then reinstall. http://www.nero.com/nero6/eng/Clean_Tools.html

I would bet you're trying to get around a web filter at home or work. I never heard of an ISP blocking that site or similiar, you wouldn't mind sharing the ISP name with us?

quicktime alternative & windows media alternative
DigeratiPrime replied to Harry Tuttle's topic in Software Hangout
I know Media Player Classic can be used with Firefox when WMP is not installed, it might also work for Opera. -
I dont think that is true unless things have changed. Nero Express is simply an alternative gui to Nero BurningROM. Hadware support is determined by the WNASPI dll. Sounds like a problem with the installation, try reinstalling.

MSI installer Problem (Norton Antivirus)
DigeratiPrime replied to xtremee's topic in Malware Prevention and Security
Norton's 2008 products came out recently: http://liveupdate.symantec.com/upgrade/NAV081500.exe http://liveupdate.symantec.com/upgrade/NIS081500.exe -
You can also (in most cases) unpack the installers using UniExtract http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=62418
